Chapter 958: Live Streaming Parenthood (Part 2)
The popularity of human infants was higher than Luo Quan had imagined; after Xiao Luo Xi appeared, the already dense stream of comments in the live stream became even more lively.
“Aren’t you supposed to be sleeping? Why are you coming to find Sister?” Luo Quan picked up Xiao Luo Xi and placed her on her lap.
Luo Xi held a Pikachu plush toy, rubbed her eyes, and said, “Not sleep.”
The little one probably meant she’d already slept and didn’t want to sleep again, but her limited vocabulary prevented her from expressing it accurately.
“Then why do you only want Sister to hold you right after waking up, not Brother? Do you like Sister a little more?” Luo Quan teased Luo Xi with a smile, subtly jabbing Leon beside her.
“Brother, scary.” Luo Xi puckered her rosy little lips, expressing her displeasure.
“What’s going on, Leon?” Luo Quan turned to confront him. “You scared Luo Xi?”
“How would I dare scare her? Back in London, she used to ride on my neck and pee on my pants—I didn’t even say anything, and she started wailing.”
As Leon spoke, he noticed his sister’s mouth already curling into a pout, on the verge of tears, and quickly crouched down: “No no, Brother didn’t mean Luo Xi is bad—Luo Xi is the cutest, mwah.”
Seeing this, Luo Quan finally understood what “one thing tames another” meant.
Even though Leon was terrified of his older sister, he’d never spoken to her like this before—Luo Xi was truly impressive, able to make Leon soothe her like this.
“So, back to the question—why did you scare her just now?” Luo Quan lifted her knee slightly, nudging Luo Xi, who had slid to the edge, back onto her thigh.
“I didn’t scare her—I was yelling at someone in the game. My god, my Uber-Ashe got robbed of a five-kill by my teammates—wouldn’t you be furious?”
“Then just then, Luo Xi walked in, heard me shouting, and thought I was yelling at her—so she insisted on coming to find Sister.”
Leon explained the situation tearfully, and the live stream’s fans could no longer hold back:
“To be fair, your blood pressure really would spike in a situation like that.”
“I carried all you trash players to victory, and then I get robbed of a five-kill? If it were me, I’d just AFK.”
“Only I think Leon is hilarious? East Coast rap prodigy turned total daddy.”
“Haha, Leon’s about to become a dad anyway—this is just early practice.”
“I’m so curious what Luo Bao will be like as a mom.”
“Isn’t that right there? Isn’t this Luo Bao being a mom?”
………………
Luo Quan temporarily ignored the teasing comments because Xiao Luo Xi suddenly raised her hand: “Drink milk (milk, first tone).”
The toddler was already weaned, but could only eat liquids and easily digestible foods.
Among all the foods she could eat, milk was her favorite, so whenever she was hungry, she’d reach out for “milk.”
But to change her daughter’s eating habits, Luo Ni usually only gave her milk in the morning; even if she begged for it at noon or night, she only got porridge or congee.
But because they’d been on a plane all day, their eating schedule had been slightly adjusted—Luo Xi hadn’t had milk in a full day.
“Go downstairs and mix a bottle of this formula.”
Luo Quan pulled a can of her company’s “Spring Water” formula from a drawer and handed it to Leon: “You know how to mix it, right? Don’t make it too hot.”
“I do. The other day, Mia dragged me to watch parenting videos every day.” Leon gave a thumbs-up, grabbed the formula, and turned to head downstairs.
Although Luo Xi was past the age for formula, this product was marketed as suitable for all ages, so she just used it for her sister.
Hearing she could drink milk, Luo Xi became very excited.
Meanwhile, the fans’ reactions were like a deflated balloon:
“Feeding formula?”
“Then never mind.”
“Haha, obviously impossible—besides, even if Luo Bao wanted to, she couldn’t.”
“True.”
…………
Luo Quan stared blankly at these comments: “What else would I feed her? Healthy live stream, start with you and me—don’t say weird stuff.”
“By the way, I’ll take this chance to advertise our family’s formula—drinking this formula from our company boosts immunity and safeguards children’s health; benefits galore, and it’s not expensive.”
This was Luo Quan’s first time doing product promotion in a live stream—she’d never before seriously advertised any product in one.
The fans’ responses were all over the map:
“I can vouch for this formula—it’s great. My baby’s nighttime crying decreased after drinking it.”
“I drink this too—and my wife gets happier because she’s my insurance beneficiary.”
“Can this formula be released into the wild?”
“Haha, what’s this? Lin Bei selling fish?”
………………
Most fans were just joking, since most had no need for formula.
Domestic marriage and birth rates keep falling; many feel living alone is more comfortable, and even if married, adding a child crushes their couple’s world.
Though babies are adorable and lovable, they can also be genuinely maddening when they’re fussy.
Sure, viewers in the live stream keep praising Luo Xi as adorable and saying they want a baby too.
But if they actually had to raise one, they’d be mentally exhausted within seven days.
In comparison, Luo Quan, with her relatively free schedule and ample time and patience, handled everything effortlessly.
But in the first few days of changing diapers, potty training, and soothing Luo Xi to sleep, she’d seriously doubted life.
Fortunately, that state didn’t last long—perhaps maternal instinct kicked in, giving her endless patience for Luo Xi; no matter how much trouble she caused, Luo Quan now found it sweet.
Now, Luo Xi had passed the hardest stage—most of the time, she didn’t cry or throw tantrums; aside from being a bit spoiled, she had no flaws.
But then again, whose child isn’t pampered these days?
As she pondered, Leon returned with the prepared formula.
“Not too hot—let it sit a bit and she can drink it right away.” Leon placed the full bottle on the table.
“Drink milk.” Luo Xi reached out as soon as she saw the milk, but Luo Quan snatched it away first: “It’s still a bit hot—wait a little before drinking.”
“Uuu~” Luo Xi’s mouth instantly puckered into a duck.
“No crying.” Luo Quan gently pinched her sister’s pouting lips. “If you cry, Sister won’t like you anymore. Only good babies are liked by Sister.”
“No, Sister likes.” Luo Xi immediately stopped crying, opened her arms, and hugged Luo Quan tightly.
Infants in swaddles cry for survival needs—hunger, pain, or elimination.
But once they grow older, crying becomes a tool to demand things they want.
Poorly educated adults usually give children everything they ask for—even unreasonable demands.
A child’s character and behavior are often formed during this stage.
When they realize they can get anything just by demanding it—or throwing tantrums if refused—they learn to take nothing for granted, and will reach for anything they don’t have, regardless of whether it’s right or wrong.
Over time, such bad habits easily lead to serious consequences.
Luo Quan certainly wouldn’t let her sister become like that—indulging a child is one thing; spoiling her is another, and she knew the difference.
So she seized this chance to teach Luo Xi a lesson—though sadly, Luo Xi couldn’t stay by her side for long.
The good news is, Mom’s parenting skills are solid—otherwise, how could she have raised a Tokyo University top student like me?
And unlike me, Luo Xi won’t lack paternal love; she’ll also receive extra affection from her brother and sister—undoubtedly, she’ll be happier.
As for her future personality? Who knows? Innate traits are hard to predict—ladylike, ringleader, introverted, precocious, impulsive, slow-witted…
All of these are possible.
As for Luo Xi’s talent, it’s still too early to tell.
When she hears her sister’s songs, she smiles.
But it’s probably just because of Sister’s voice—she doesn’t react the same way to other singers.
Who knows what this little one will grow up to do.
As Luo Quan drifted into these thoughts, the milk in the bottle gradually cooled.
She shook the bottle, confirmed it wasn’t hot, and placed it to Luo Xi’s lips.
The little one expertly sucked the nipple; Luo Quan gazed down at her, radiating pure maternal warmth.
Viewers saw the Virgin Mary in this moment.
But the Virgin Mary quickly lost her composure—because right after finishing her milk, Luo Xi peed her pants.
“You’re something else, huh? Full throughput, right?”
Luo Quan looked at the wet pants, then at Luo Xi, torn between laughter and despair.
Luo Xi didn’t realize she’d done anything wrong—after all, the urge to pee was unbearable, and no one had ever told her not to urinate anywhere.
Before, she just cried when she needed to go; adults, confused by the crying, would naturally take her to the toilet.
Now that she could speak, although Luo Ni had taught her several times, the results were only average.
“If you need to pee, go straight to the toilet—or tell Mama or Sister. Don’t just pee out like that—it’s very impolite, understand?”
Luo Quan wasn’t new to being peed on by her sister, so she didn’t rush to the bathroom.
“Got it.” Luo Xi, full and just relieved, was in high spirits, nodding rapidly.
Meanwhile, the live stream’s comments were rolling with laughter:
“Looks like this formula doesn’t help with diaper leaks.”
“Maybe its effect is to promote elimination.”
“Haven’t seen Luo Bao get peed on in ages—last time was in New York.”
“Luo Xi remains as free-spirited as ever—pees on command, no warning.”
“One second, maternal glow radiating; next second, holy aura shattered.”
“No worries—urine wards off evil!”
……………………
These fans are sharp-tongued when they roast people, but Luo Quan wasn’t paying attention to the live comments at all.
After scolding Luo Xi, she carried her sister—whose pants were damp—into her mother’s bathroom.
She didn’t have any spare clothes for her sister, so it was more convenient to bathe in her mother’s room.
Besides, she’d slept for five days in Yuanyu Star and fought Bai Xingwei, sweating profusely.
There wasn’t any odor, but the stickiness was unpleasant.
As for her sister’s urine on her pants, she’d originally felt nauseated when first soaked in it.
But after enough occurrences, she gradually got used to it.
It’s normal for a child to lose control—they haven’t fully developed yet.
Her mother said she’d been the same as a child, only stopping bedwetting after starting preschool.
Even so, the year she graduated elementary school, she had another incident—and of all people, Wen Xia caught her, and she’s been laughing about it ever since.
“Next time if you can’t hold it, find a corner—but don’t pee on anyone else again, okay?”
In the bathtub, the two sisters sat facing each other, covered in bubbles.
Hearing her sister’s serious tone, Luo Xi stopped playing with the bubbles and nodded solemnly: “Okay!”
When she came out, Luo Quan felt much fresher. It had been nearly ten days since her last bath—definitely unpleasant.
After eating her fill and taking a hot bath, Luo Xi, who hadn’t slept long earlier, felt sleepiness surge again and immediately fell asleep in Luo Quan’s arms.
After rocking her sister for a while, Luo Quan laid her down on her mother’s bed.
“Finally asleep.”
Luo Quan returned to her livestream, looking utterly relieved.
But the live comments were clearly dissatisfied:
“Where’s the sister? We don’t want the sister—we want the sister!”
“Exactly! The sister’s so cute; the older sister’s old and mean.”
“Admit it—did you hide the sister on purpose?”
………………
Though she knew they were joking, it also revealed how incredibly popular Luo Xi had become.
Luo Quan wasn’t angry; she laughed and replied: “When things were good, you called me Sweetie, now you’re calling me Old Lady Luo, saying I’m old and mean—I’m only twenty-four, okay?”
With Luo Quan engaging, the comments grew even funnier:
“Luo Xi is twenty-some years younger than you!”
“When you say a beautiful woman is ugly, she won’t get mad.”
“But when you say an ugly woman is ugly, she gets furious—because it’s true.”
“So Luo Bao being old is also true.”
“Twenty-four isn’t young—I’m only sixteen.”
“Sixteen? What are you doing watching livestreams? Go study!”
“I got into Tsinghua by direct admission.”
“I graduated from Harvard.”
………………
The atmosphere in Luo Quan’s livestream was always like this—light and humorous.
After all, she had a host who could take jokes, and a bunch of chaotic old guys who always came up with wild stuff.
Watching these absurdly funny comments, Luo Quan shook her head and laughed, then opened League of Legends, which she hadn’t logged into in ages.
