Chapter 24
Xu Yang’s eyes lit up, and he whispered, "Where can I get it?"
Qiu Wenjie pointed to himself, then reached into his clothes and pulled out several paper packets: "This is Soft-Muscle Powder."
Xu Yang hadn't expected this guy to carry such things with him. Was he really trying to be a flower-plucking thief?
"Can you sell it to me?"
"It’s a gift. I’ll just go back tonight and ask my dad for a few more packets!"
Xu Yang took the items and almost couldn't resist opening them to smell them, but ultimately held back.
Qiu Wenjie shouldn't be lying to him.
Qiu Wenjie pointed out which packet was the antidote, which were the Soft-Muscle Powder, and their duration of effect.
"If I use this to kill someone, will it be traced back to your family?" Xu Yang thought for a moment and asked.
If this was something unique to the Qiu family, he couldn't use it.
"No, this kind of low-class stuff is common among many people in the jianghu."
Qiu Wenjie didn't ask in detail who Xu Yang wanted to kill or what he wanted to do.
He was a smart person himself; otherwise, he wouldn't have told his father, Qiu Yongqiang, about Xu Yang’s situation.
"If you can't solve it, you can ask my dad. My Qiu family isn't a big household, but we can handle ordinary small matters," Qiu Wenjie said.
The Qiu family had invested in Xu Yang, so he didn't want Xu Yang to get into trouble. Besides, in his view, what kind of big shot could Xu Yang possibly offend?
If it were really some big shot, Xu Yang wouldn't be here.
"It’s nothing, I can handle it myself."
Xu Yang stood up and left, sat down in another place, and looked at the panel.
[Cultivation Technique: Turtle-Snake Great Stance · Entry (31/100), Mountain-Shaking Bear Fist · Entry (63/150)]
[Martial Dao Longevity Points: 31]
It had been over ten days since he killed Li Hu, and his points had accumulated to over thirty. He had originally intended to use these to improve his Root Bone, but now he could only use them to improve his cultivation technique first.
Although he had obtained Soft-Muscle Powder from Qiu Wenjie, for the sake of insurance, he still had to improve the Mountain-Shaking Bear Fist. Over a dozen people were not easy to kill; he had to ensure not a single one survived.
It was just that the time for breaking through to Qi Gathering would be delayed because of this.
"Slaughtering these dozen or so people should give me some peace for a while."
Closing his eyes, Xu Yang invested all his points into the Mountain-Shaking Bear Fist.
The Turtle-Snake Great Stance was a static technique, an internal practice; increasing its proficiency wouldn't improve his cultivation base.
[Mountain-Shaking Bear Fist · Entry (94/150)]
A massive amount of insight flooded in, and his progress in the Mountain-Shaking Bear Fist rose to ninety-four. His understanding of the Mountain-Shaking Bear Fist underwent a huge change. ===== CHAPTER 45 =====
At the second watch, a black shadow drifted out of White Stone Workshop and ran toward the distance.
Xu Yang quickly arrived at the location of the Tri-Union Gang’s hall.
He didn't act immediately.
If Qian Ming wasn't here, killing ordinary gang members would be meaningless; his main target was Qian Ming.
He covered his mouth and nose with a prepared cloth, held the dagger he had looted from Li Hu in his hand, and approached the courtyard wall lightly. His ears caught the sound of a drinking game.
"They’re actually drinking!"
Drinking was good; once they were drunk, they’d sleep like the dead. Maybe he wouldn't even need to exert much effort to wipe them all out.
It seemed that the unexplained disappearance of Li Hu hadn't alerted these people.
After listening for a while, he confirmed that Qian Ming was there.
This guy shouted very loudly during the drinking game; he could hear him from over ten meters away across the courtyard.
At the third watch, the sound of the drinking game in the hall gradually diminished.
Xu Yang lurked in the shadows, knowing that if he waited a little longer until everyone was asleep, he could act.
Suddenly, the hall’s main gate opened, and a drunken figure walked out, barely able to stand.
It was Qian Ming.
Seeing he was about to fall, two subordinates who didn't seem to have been drinking ran over to support him.
"Master Qian, it’s too late; it’s not safe to go home. Let’s go tomorrow."
One of the men, who had a scar on his face, advised him.
Master Qian was good at everything, except that once he drank, he would insist on going home no matter where he was.
"That’s right, Master Qian. We don't know who took out Li Hu; it’s safer to stay in the hall." The other man also advised.
"Can that trash Li Hu compare to me?"
Qian Ming spat as he spoke, "Back when we fought the Si Shui Gang, I had one saber and hacked over a dozen of them until they were wailing like ghosts. In this area, who the hell dares to touch me, Qian Ming?"
He put his arms around the two men, ignoring their advice, and continued walking toward Dashu Village.
"But Master Qian, the brothers are all drunk; only the two of us are sober. If an enemy sneaks up, we’ll be wiped out."
The two subordinates were helpless and had to use the people inside the hall as an excuse.
"You find me a woman, or send me back."
Qian Ming didn't care about any of that; he just wanted to go home and hold his little wife.
Xu Yang held his breath and didn't act immediately; he would wait until they were further away.
Both of these men carried blades; it wouldn't be easy to resolve if they started fighting.
He waited until the three were far away, then stepped out of the darkness and began to detour to the front.
Under the night sky, Xu Yang lurked in the roadside grass. When Qian Ming and the two passed by, he suddenly lunged out.
He used the exact "Bear King Probing Claws" that Zhou Yang had used today, but the effect was different.
The scarred man noticed the attack immediately, but his neck was being held by the drunken Qian Ming, leaving him unable to advance or retreat.
He wanted to draw his blade, but the blade was pressed against Qian Ming’s body, so he couldn't draw it out immediately.
At this moment, Xu Yang’s five fingers had already hooked onto his throat, and he exerted force.
"Crack!"
Under the powerful force, the sound of a throat shattering rang out. The scarred man was in so much pain he almost fainted; he didn't care about the drunkard Qian Ming anymore and, while struggling, pushed Qian Ming away.
But at this moment, Xu Yang’s calculated combo was unleashed again, and the cold dagger was already buried in his chest.
"Scarface, do you want to die?"
Qian Ming hadn't figured out the situation yet and started cursing.
"Master Qian, there’s a blade-wielder!"
The other man screamed, while simultaneously trying to push Qian Ming, who was practically hanging on him.
"Puchi!"
Blood sprayed out. Xu Yang didn't even look at the result; he took a stride forward, and the dagger in his hand buried itself in the man’s back.
The tugging motion with Qian Ming stopped instantly, and a look of fear appeared on his face.
He had been stabbed!
Xu Yang pulled downward with force. Under the terrifying strength, flesh and bone were severed, exposing the red internal organs.
"Ah..."
The scream lasted only for a moment before Qian Ming’s last subordinate collapsed limply.
Qian Ming finally reacted and threw a punch at Xu Yang’s face, but at this moment, he could barely stand, let alone have the strength to hit anyone.
Xu Yang just tilted his body slightly, and Qian Ming fell over due to momentum.
"Who are you? I’m Qian Ming!" Qian Ming shouted. In this area, someone actually dared to touch him?
Xu Yang didn't speak, nor would he give Qian Ming a chance to crawl up. He stepped forward, pressed Qian Ming’s head down with one hand, and drove the dagger directly into Qian Ming’s neck.
"Hoo, hoo..."
His windpipe ruptured, emitting a wheezing sound, and blood foam sprayed onto the ground.
Qian Ming twitched all over, his two hands constantly clawing at the ground.
Xu Yang’s expression was cold. This was his second time killing; he had already adapted quite a bit.
He pulled out the dagger and stabbed him again. Qian Ming stopped moving completely.
At this moment, the other two weren't dead yet and were still twitching, but they wouldn't live either.
Xu Yang didn't rush to finish them off. He flipped Qian Ming’s body over, searched it, found the money bag, didn't even look at how much was inside, put it away, and walked toward the next one.
By the time he finished looting the bodies, they were all dead. ===== CHAPTER 46 =====
