Chapter 443: Final Thoughts
Final Thoughts
It's finished; let me say a few words.
I originally planned to end this book at one million words, which meant finishing it after the Lower Realm.
My outline did not contain an Upper Realm; after ascending from the Lower Realm, it was supposed to be modern society.
But later, I thought about it and felt that adding an Upper Realm plot might make it a bit more complete, so I added it.
It's just a pity that the core selling point of this book is the protagonist taking wives; as the number of wives increased, the core selling point of this book was basically written out.
So when writing the Upper Realm, the plot was actually no different from the Lower Realm.
Commonly known as: nesting dolls.
If the plot is repetitive, it's no fun to write, so I basically just wrote the Upper Realm simply.
Is this a rushed ending?
It doesn't count as a rushed ending.
Why doesn't it count as a rushed ending?
Because this book leans towards a slice-of-life style; it never had much of a plot to speak of, no foreshadowing, no hidden traps, so there is no issue of whether it's rushed or not—it ends when it should end.
As for continuing to pad it out, writing about some Heavenly Demon invasion or other messy things, it would only be repeating the same tropes and constantly nesting dolls, which is truly meaningless.
Ending now is the most appropriate time.
Short, perfect.
If needed, I might write a few extra chapters as supplements.
You might not believe me when I say this.
Before writing this book, I didn't even know the cultivation realms of Xianxia; I only knew Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, and Nascent Soul.
Because I never read traditional Xianxia.
Among them, the three realms of Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, and Nascent Soul were actually things I learned from reading "The Personal Bodyguard of the School Beauty" when I was a high school senior.
Actually, the types of novels I read are very narrow; from when I started reading until now, I have basically only read two types.
One is Fantasy.
Two is Urban.
I read more Urban, and now I basically don't read much Fantasy either.
And I have three "don't reads."
One is historical novels.
Two is fan-fiction novels.
Three is fantasy novels with foreign backgrounds.
In order to force myself to read "Lord of the Mysteries," I stubbornly switched two reader accounts and bought the full subscription, but I couldn't even get past the chapters after it went on sale.
From this example, you know that I really cannot read novels with foreign names.
I had been following "Spirit Realm Walker" all along.
Until it reached the third volume, the foreign arc, I couldn't read it anymore.
I'm numb!
Wait, the topic seems to have drifted.
Why am I talking about what I read?
Back to the point, returning to the subject, my next book will be the Urban genre.
Of course, it will be an urban setting with supernatural powers, which is urban ability.
Tentatively scheduled for release at the end of the month.
But I'm not too sure; it might also be released in October.
I have already done most of the outline, settings, and background.
Next, it depends on how well I refine it.
I'll release it when I feel it's ready.
To avoid being like this book, where I thought of things as I wrote them every day, with no plot to speak of.
In short, thank you all for following along until here, and I hope you will continue to follow my next book.
