Chapter 118: Sea Elf Landing Operation

~10 min read 1,963 words

On the command deck of the flagship "Conch", Sea Elf Prince Kaelis Tide-Singer stood quietly beside the coral helm.

He wore a bright blue armor made of deep-sea dragon fish skin, and his silver-white long hair was blown by the sea breeze like rolling waves. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle's, piercing through the morning mist and locking onto the bay in the distance.

Inside the bay, hundreds of crude murloc rafts made of animal skins and driftwood, and small warships, were like a piece of ugly fungus, making chaotic and noisy war cries, trying to organize a ridiculous formation.

"Kaelis, my people are not good at landing operations. Please help me clear the beach."

"Ms. Vilanse, the agreement my father signed does not include clearing these demon murlocs, and I don't think there is any need to provide any help to a despicable and cruel black dragon."

"Perhaps so, but let me think. How many years have the Sea Elves on the east side of the Antrados Mountains not fought a war? The dwarves of Morida seem to be rising. Can you really still hold on?"

"Ms., you and I both know who is behind the dwarves of Morida. If you want to threaten a Sea Elf, you'd better think clearly about the consequences. That guy Sakavi has offended a lot of people recently."

"Oh my, young people are really easy to be impulsive. I'm just stating a fact. How did it become a threat? Dwarves and elves don't get along, and it didn't just happen recently. If you fight, I'm afraid no one will intervene."

"So what? Are you planning to let the Sea Elves of Rikan defect to you bandits?"

"Oh? When did I become a bandit? How can you, a child, slander others indiscriminately?"

"Hmph, on this plane, you haven't fought a single battle, yet you occupy so much territory. If you aren't bandits, what are you?"

"So what if I am? You'd better take the opportunity now to train your subordinates well, so as not to find that your combat skills have become rusty when the dwarves start a war."

"Sea Elves are the darlings of the ocean. The entire coastline can be used for training. There is no need to bully murlocs here."

"If you help me fight the murlocs, I can persuade the dwarves to move some of them away. How about that?"

"First, second, and third squads, form the 'Crescent Arc' formation! With the flagship as the center point, expand to the two wings and block the entrance to the bay.

Fourth and fifth fleets, cut in from the left gap of the 'Crescent Arc', commanded by the Reef, prioritizing the destruction of their 'War Chief's Boat' and any shaman priest ships attempting to cast spells!

'Sea Snake' class assault speedboats and 'Giant Crab' class transport barges, follow closely behind the 'Reef' and rush into the enemy formation."

Ten three-masted warships, like steel giant spears flashing with cold light, suddenly cut in from the left gap of the 'Crescent Arc'. They did not make earth-shattering shouts, only the roar like a giant beast when the hull broke the water surface.

The elf sailors moved as precisely as machines, quickly adjusting the sails and rudder under the silent gestures of the captains.

The murloc tribe's 'fleet', composed of hundreds of small boats and rafts, was like a group of frightened sardines in front of the elf warships, instantly falling into chaos.

They made harsh war roars between frog croaks and hisses, throwing bone spears and clay pots with foul-smelling grease indiscriminately.

But these primitive attacks could not even touch the hulls of the elf warships, which were reinforced by magic.

"Left broadside swivel guns, fire!" The captain of the 'Reef' sounded terrifyingly calm.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Accompanied by a series of dull and continuous explosions, dozens of iron balls wrapped in lightning energy whistled out. They did not explode, but drew deadly blue arcs in the murloc formation.

A large wooden raft of a murloc war chief was hit by three cannonballs at the same time, instantly entangled by violent lightning. The murlocs on it twitched all over, their skin charred black, and they turned into charcoal and fell into the sea before they could even scream.

Immediately after, the wooden raft itself disintegrated in the electric light, turning into a pile of burning driftwood.

A murloc shaman who was holding a bone staff high and trying to summon a siren was pierced through the chest by a precise stray bullet. The unfinished spell in his mouth turned into a cloud of black smoke and dissipated in the air.

At the same time, the 'Sea Snake' class assault speedboats, like agile cheetahs, rushed into the gaps of the enemy formation. They were small and surprisingly fast.

The chain shot launchers mounted on the bow made "swish-swish" sounds, and the special double-linked iron chains flew out rotating in the air, not for killing, but for destruction.

Rows of murloc rafts were swept by the chain shots, the fragile binding ropes instantly broke, the rafts fell apart, and the murlocs on them fell into the water screaming.

And those murlocs who fell into the water did not escape their fate. The 'Giant Crab' class transport barges that followed closely behind drove over them like silent scavengers.

The small catapults on both sides of the hull threw down black spheres the size of a fist, covered with runes. As soon as these spheres entered the water, they sank rapidly, exploding a shock wave at a depth of about five meters.

The seawater churned violently, forming temporary vacuum areas. All murlocs within the range had their internal organs instantly crushed by the pressure difference, bleeding from their seven orifices, and sinking to the bottom of the sea silently.

Thirty minutes later, on the sea surface, there were burning wooden boards, broken bone staves, and countless murloc corpses floating. The seawater was dyed dark red by blood and grease, but strangely, there was almost no smell of blood in the air.

Because the 'Crescent Arc' blockade formation had begun to close slowly, the Sea Elf mages were chanting purification tide spells, decomposing and settling the filthy things.

On the flagship 'Conch', Prince Kaelis remained expressionless. He held a monocular telescope in his hand, calmly observing every detail of the battlefield.

"Report battle damage." He asked without looking back.

A messenger immediately stepped forward and knelt on one knee: "Your Highness, only three of our assault speedboats were damaged, with no casualties. Ninety percent of the enemy's naval power has been destroyed, and the remaining less than ten ships are fleeing to the reef area inside the bay."

"Order the 'Crescent Arc' to completely blockade the bay. Landing troops, prepare to clear the nests on the shore."

His gaze crossed the tragic sea battlefield and cast toward the foul-smelling murloc village in the shadow of the cliff.

With the order, the fleet formation changed again. Fifteen 'Giant Crab' class transport barges sailed close to the coast, and the huge cabin doors on both sides of the hull slowly opened with the creaking of the winch. From inside walked out teams of agile and well-equipped Sea Elf warriors.

"Tide Spear, advance!" Following the commander's order. One hundred warriors holding crystal spears and kite shields jumped off the warships and moved toward the beach.

Their armor was blue-green light scale armor, their leg muscles were strong, they were barefoot, and they had seaweed ropes tied to their ankles that allowed them to walk on slippery reefs as if on flat ground.

They didn't make any sound, just lined up in neat rows, and the moment the barges landed, they stepped onto the beach silently like flowing water.

Then they dispersed at an amazing speed, their formation like a school of fish dispersing in the water, instantly covering the entire beach.

They didn't rush directly to the murloc village, but started a systematic 'clearing' of the coast in groups of three.

One was responsible for vigilance, one used a spear to probe the sand and stone crevices, and the other, under the cover of a shield, used a special dagger to clear any traps that might exist, or any scattered enemies hiding.

A few giant crabs that tried to sneak attack from the reef crevices were nailed to the spot by three crystal spears from different angles as soon as they appeared. Their shells were extremely hard, but the 'armor-piercing' water magic attached to the spears made them like paper.

Following closely behind was the 'Coral Wall'. Their shields were huge and thick, carved with spiral shell patterns, and could be combined into an almost seamless moving barrier. These heavy infantry were the absolute main force.

Their weapons were short-handled heavy hammers and battle axes, born for armor-piercing and bone-crushing in narrow caves and passages. They were the core of the landing force, an impenetrable copper wall that no counterattack could overcome.

When the 'Tide Spear' secured the beach, the 'Coral Wall' began to advance steadily. They formed a huge square phalanx, and every step they took seemed to make the earth tremble.

The murloc village finally reacted. Hundreds of murlocs poured out of the caves, waving rusty scimitars and crude stone axes, making earth-shattering roars, like a dirty green tide, rushing toward the Sea Elf phalanx.

"Raise shields!" The commander gave an order.

The warriors of the 'Coral Wall' slammed their shields heavily on the ground, and the shields in the first row were even buried in the sand. The murloc tide hit this wall, making a teeth-aching "bang-bang" sound, but it was of no avail.

The third phalanx was 'Deep Sea Language'. This was the most unsettling unit. They were few in number, only twenty, wearing dark blue robes.

They were the Sea Elves' battle mages. They had no weapons in their hands, only magic orbs made of deep-sea moonstones. Their eyes were empty, as if they were having a silent communication with the ocean itself.

Just as the murlocs fell into chaos, trying to climb the shield wall, true destruction descended.

The mages of 'Deep Sea Language' finally moved. They raised the moonstone orbs in their hands in unison and chanted ancient and harmonious incantations. It was a resonance, a vibration at the same frequency as the tides of this bay.

Following their soft chanting, the seawater at the edge of the beach suddenly became abnormal. Huge water hands rose from the sea, composed of high-density seawater, with blurred forms but amazing power.

These water hands ignored the murlocs' weapons, directly penetrated their formation, and then tightened and solidified violently. The murlocs entangled by the water hands were instantly unable to move, and the huge water pressure made their eyeballs bulge and their bones creak.

Immediately after, the inside of the water hands began to freeze. Within a few seconds, these murlocs were frozen in crystal-clear ice sculptures, and then smashed to pieces by the next wave, turning into cold debris.

The 'Coral Wall' began to counterattack. The shield formation opened small gaps, and heavy hammers and battle axes swung out from them. Every swing was heavy and powerful, easily smashing the murlocs trapped by the water hands until their bones broke and tendons snapped.

The landing operation turned into a one-sided, ritualistic massacre. The Sea Elf formation remained steady, and every attack they made was precise and deadly.

"Alright, Ms., my people have cleared out these dirty guys. Don't tell me you can't even deal with those mutant seagulls on the cliff."

"Thank you very much for your help, leave the rest to me! I will notify you in advance when to transport personnel again." ===== CHAPTER 119 =====
