Chapter 6: The World of a Genius, You Don't Understand

~8 min read 1,483 words

"Correct! Correct!"

"They are actually all correct!"

Teacher Wang could not help but rub his eyes, almost thinking he was hallucinating.

These two test papers were not ordinary high school senior test papers, but came from the Dragon Gate Question Bank, which was recognized as being extremely difficult.

He had originally been considering whether to use such difficult papers, because his intention was to let the students encounter more problem-solving approaches through these high-difficulty questions, yet he was worried that the papers were too hard and would discourage the students.

As it turned out, Su Xin happened to come over to apply for independent study, so in a fit of pique, he just handed these two test papers to Su Xin to do.

In his view, given Su Xin's grades, even if he spent two hours finishing them, he would only be able to score ninety-something points; with the slightest carelessness, even passing would be difficult.

To tell the truth, even if he did them himself, even without considering the possibility of carelessness, he would not dare to say he would get them all right.

But now.

Su Xin had finished answering in about ten minutes, and they were all correct—a perfect score!

If it were any high school senior in the country, or even any person at all, even a top physicist, or someone who had just happened to do this test paper, it would be impossible to achieve a perfect score in such a short time.

After all, just reading and examining the questions takes a while, plus thinking, and then writing down the problem-solving process; all in all, it would have to take over half an hour.

Yet Su Xin finished in about ten minutes.

It seemed as if he did not need to think at all, just as if he were copying from the questions.

This simply made him so shocked that his scalp went numb.

Several other teachers nearby had already been paying attention to them; at this moment, seeing Teacher Wang's expression was somewhat strange, someone curiously crowded over and asked:

"What's wrong? He finished so quickly, could it be that they are all wrong?"

Teacher Wang shook his head with a numb expression:

"No, all correct, a perfect score."

"A perfect score?!"

That teacher exclaimed, which startled even more people; several teachers who had a good relationship with Teacher Wang immediately crowded over and asked in a swarm:

"Really or fake?"

"Finished so quickly, and still able to get a perfect score? Could it be that he happened to have done them before?"

"Could it be that the test papers are too simple?"

Teacher Wang shook his head and was just about to speak when Su Xin, who was nearby, handed over the second test paper, and after letting out a sigh of relief, said:

"Teacher Wang, both test papers are finished, please grade them."

Teacher Wang took the second test paper with a numb expression and took out the answer key to start comparing; the other teachers also crowded over to watch.

"Correct, correct..."

"This is also correct."

Watching one red checkmark after another being marked behind the questions left everyone shocked.

"Still all correct, another perfect score."

Teacher Wang could not help but gasp.

Hearing his words and looking at the bright red 150 on the test paper, the other teachers were also stunned.

They had also witnessed the whole process and knew how short a time Su Xin had spent on these two test papers, and even more so, they knew how profound a foundation was required to get a perfect score on two test papers in such a short time.

They understood that one must be thoroughly familiar with all the knowledge points involved in the questions and feel that there was not the slightest difficulty to be able to write down the answers without a moment's thought.

It was just like them doing elementary school math problems; they could probably only achieve such efficiency as Su Xin if it were single-digit addition and subtraction, but they would not dare to make such a guarantee for anything involving double-digit addition and subtraction.

Not to mention that Su Xin's accuracy was terrifyingly high.

After taking a few deep breaths, Teacher Wang turned his head, looked at Su Xin seriously, and asked:

"I know your grades; although they are good, it is impossible for you to perform so exaggeratedly. Tell me, did you happen to have done these two test papers before?"

Although Teacher Wang felt it would not be such a coincidence, he dared not believe that Su Xin truly had such strength.

Su Xin shook his head: "I haven't done them before."

"But, if you truly have such strength, why did your physics grades always hover around twentieth place in previous exams? You haven't even entered the top five?"

"In the past, I just wanted to be a bit more low-key."

As he spoke, Su Xin sighed with emotion:

"However, now I have figured it out. Life is only a few decades long; there is no need to trap myself in school for the sake of being low-key. This is wasting time. A genius should have a genius's path of growth."

"Therefore, starting from today, I want to fully display my talent, utilize every minute of time, grow to my heart's content, absorb nutrients as quickly as possible, and grow into a top-tier scientific research master."

"I want to lead the technological development of Long Country, strengthen the country through technology, benefit humanity through technology, and leave behind precious wealth for humanity in my limited life."

"Teacher Wang, you might think I'm bragging now, but at most a year from now, you will understand that everything I said is just a simple statement of my future, not a fantasy."

Hearing this arrogant speech from Su Xin, the several teachers were all stunned on the spot, not knowing how to react.

For an eighteen-year-old high school student to threaten in front of them to lead the technological development of Long Country and leave behind precious wealth for humanity—anyone would think the other party was bragging, and doing so without even drafting it.

Teacher Wang, of course, thought the same.

Even if Su Xin's performance in doing those two test papers just now made him feel amazed, doing test papers is one thing, and scientific research is another; those are two completely different matters.

Having good academic grades does not mean one is great at scientific research, let alone the grand goal of leading the country's technological development.

Seeing that he did not speak, Su Xin shook his head and said, appearing somewhat disappointed:

"Teacher Wang, it is normal that you cannot understand it now; after all, the world of a genius is indeed very difficult for ordinary people to imagine."

"In short, Teacher Wang, I have indeed learned all the knowledge of high school and do not want to continue wasting time here. I want to use this time to learn more useful knowledge."

Teacher Wang's mouth twitched.

He had never thought before that the once well-behaved and sensible Su Xin would become so arrogant and conceited, but judging from Su Xin's grades on the test papers just now, it seemed he really did not need people to worry about him, and he found it difficult to continue to firmly refuse.

After thinking for a while, he still said:

"How about this: since you say you have mastered the knowledge of all high school subjects, I will have all the teachers prepare a test paper for you later, and I will limit you to finishing it within an hour and a half. If you can truly get a perfect score on all of them, I will approve your leaving school for independent study."

"However, there is one more condition: you must come back once a week to take a test."

Su Xin smiled confidently: "No problem!"

Teacher Wang and the teachers of several other subjects quickly prepared the test papers, handed them to Su Xin, and cleared an office desk for him so he could answer the questions in peace.

Such a lively scene made many teachers feel it was fresh and interesting, especially after hearing about Su Xin's previous performance from Teacher Wang and the others, making them even more expectant of the exam results.

A dozen or so teachers chatted and laughed, occasionally glancing at Su Xin, who was writing furiously; it could be considered a diversion in their dull teaching lives.

Twenty minutes later.

Su Xin finished the first test paper.

"Chinese, finished."

He handed over a test paper filled to the brim with writing and, without stopping, began working on the second one.

After the Chinese teacher took it, they began grading it on the spot, and a few minutes later, they exclaimed in surprise.

"All correct! Full marks!"
