Chapter 426: Why Aren't You Asleep Yet
He wore a loose sleeping robe, his hair damp, and his whole body exuded a languid air, as if this man had long grown accustomed to soaking in hot springs and basking in moonlight baths.
"Why aren't you asleep yet?" Danier Xia Pu asked, somewhat puzzled.
She had assumed that Kuchiki Senya, that lecher, would take advantage of her while she was bathing or changing clothes.
"I was thinking about something." Kuchiki Senya took a sip of tea from his cup, then asked Danier Xia Pu: "Just now on the deck, do you know what I'm best at?"
"What?" Danier Xia Pu replied with a question of her own.
"What I'm best at is... concealing my tracks."
As soon as the words left his mouth, a gust of wind blew past. Danier Xia Pu suddenly raised her head, and then she saw a pair of sharp eyes.
"Don't try to pry into my secrets." Kuchiki Senya said, setting down the porcelain cup in his hand: "You'll only come out the worse for it."
"I have no interest in prying into your secrets." Danier Xia Pu said mockingly.
That remark made Kuchiki Senya pause for a moment.
Danier Xia Pu then added: "What I mean is, I can't be bothered to pry into your secrets. Besides, I have absolutely no interest in your secrets¨.."
The subtext of her words was — my interest all concerns you.
"Alright then." Kuchiki Senya understood, and could not help but smile wryly: "I hope this observation of yours won't disappoint you."
Then he patted the empty chair beside him: "Please, sit."
Danier Xia Pu glanced at Kuchiki Senya, then sat on the other half of the chair and picked up that cup of hot coffee.
Whether it was Danier Xia Pu or her bodyguard, neither would believe that the man before her would harm her.
Since this man said he was not an assassin, then he certainly was not one.
At the very least, Danier Xia Pu firmly believed this.
"What exactly did you just go through on the deck? Tell me, won't you?" Danier Xia Pu blinked her big eyes and asked.
"That assassin was taken out by me." Kuchiki Senya said lightly.
"How did you manage it?" Danier Xia Pu briefly analyzed the surroundings: "I think even I couldn't silently take down a top-class assassin, could I?"
"No, I'm stronger than you."
Kuchiki Senya said calmly, a hint of pride in his tone: "Besides, my blade is faster than your gun."
That statement was not false — when he killed that assassin, he didn't need any weapon at all.
A master like that, there must certainly be more than one!
"Amazing!" Danier Xia Pu said, ". ¨ If I hadn't heard it from you with my own ears, I could hardly believe you did all of that."
"I used to be a mercenary, and the missions mercenaries often carry out are decapitation strikes, so I've killed a lot of people." Kuchiki Senya said, studying Danier Xia Pu: "I always feel you're no ordinary Huaxia girl. I wonder if your parents know your true identity."
Danier Xia Pu shrugged: "I don't want them to know, because I don't know their exact identities either."
"I know." Kuchiki Senya pondered for a moment: "I suspect you must be a core member of some international assassin organization."
"Assassin organization?" Hearing this, Danier Xia Pu's brow furrowed deeply, and a look of disgust crossed her face: "Those people are all twisted maniacs. They never consider how cruel an assassin's identity is to ordinary people."
After a pause, Danier Xia Pu stared at Kuchiki Senya: "So, if I get the chance, I hope I can help you escape from those lunatics."
