Chapter 470: I'll Tell You the Answer
"Young Master, I hope this inference isn't true." the secretary said with difficulty.
"I think I can tell you the answer." Kuchiki Senya smiled contemptuously: "Zelk has already been completely consumed by hatred."
"Young Master, please, you must not investigate any further. If we're exposed, we may not be able to leave." the secretary said: "Besides, you are the leader of this country—do not sacrifice the entire nation for a personal grudge."
"I know, but, do you know why I chose this place as our base?"
"I don't know, I can't figure it out either. 733" the secretary shook her head.
"Because…" he hesitated: "Because the defensive works here are relatively weak. If enemies launch a surprise attack, we won't be caught completely off guard."
"That's right, but if we can't quickly eliminate this hidden danger, we may suffer an utterly catastrophic disaster. Zelk is a madman who acts without regard for cost; he will stop at nothing for this, and we cannot afford to pay that price."
Since Zelk dared to tear faces with Atlantis, he must have prepared for a scenario where both sides are grievously wounded (bccb) and perish together.
"Then…"
The secretary's brow furrowed.
Their master is not merely Kuchiki Senya.
"First, send someone to test Zelk's stance and see whether he is truly willing to cooperate with us." Kuchiki Senya said lightly: "However, I estimate this situation is impossible. Now, he must be wishing me dead without a burial place; even if I stood right before him, he might not even bother to greet me."
The secretary was silent for a moment before saying: "Young Master, do we really have to take such a risk?"
"Risky or not, there's no choice—I have to find somewhere relatively safe to settle." Kuchiki Senya said: "Still, this secret base is indeed an excellent location. If we have sufficient resources, we can cultivate even more outstanding warriors here."
At this point, he paused, his gaze sweeping toward the distant sky: "And this place's greatest flaw is that the terrain isn't flat enough. I think Zelk should have considered this too, otherwise he wouldn't have set up his headquarters here."
Zelk is a shrewd businessman. Though he likes money, he isn't a reckless fool; he long anticipated that once he left the secret base, every step would become exceedingly difficult.
Therefore, he chose to build a cellar within the secret base to store some supplies.
"Young Master, then… if you encounter danger, what should we do?" the secretary asked.
This was a very thorny problem—after all, they didn't have many weapons.
Kuchiki Senya was a ninjutsu expert, but he wasn't skilled with firearms, so the secretary had always worried that she couldn't properly protect Zelk.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine." Kuchiki Senya waved his hand, then said: "Go find an off-road vehicle now, then drive me around the city. These past few days on this deserted island, I've been cooped up to death."
A hint of hesitation crossed the secretary's expression: "Young Master, I feel doing this is somewhat inappropriate."
"What's inappropriate about it?"
"Our current position is simply too close to the city. If Zelk has laid any ambush nearby, wouldn't we be facing more danger than safety?" the secretary said.
