Chapter 115: Mysterious Scale? Profession Upgrade: Cursed Knight 3lv

Seeing the range affected by the Dark Wave, Tang Zheng was also a bit surprised, and then he grinned.

Step!

Tang Zheng stepped on the ground, his body instantly disappeared from where he was, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared in front of the Petrified Lizard that was attacking the Flame Archangel.

He swung his arm, and the blade of the iron sword slashed down toward the Petrified Lizard's neck!

Pfft!

Foul-smelling blood sprayed out, and the huge head was directly chopped off.

Bang!

The Petrified Lizard regained the ability to move, but the body without a head fell uncontrollably and slammed heavily onto the ground.

"Experience gained: 723"

【Experience Bar: 10355/10000】

"Is the experience of a Petrified Lizard this low? Or is it because of the influence of the curse?"

This thought flashed through Tang Zheng's mind, and he turned his ankle, rushing toward another Petrified Lizard.

Crack!

The iron sword shattered.

An iron sword appeared in Tang Zheng's palm again, and he swung it down.

"Experience gained: 539"

Whoosh!

Tang Zheng continued to change swords, his figure moving rapidly in the darkness. Every time an iron sword shattered, it represented a Petrified Lizard being slaughtered.

The ability of "Dark Wave" left these monsters with no way to resist, and they could only stand stiffly in place waiting for death.

Unless one possessed the ability to resist the abnormal states of "Fear" and "Weakness Curse," otherwise, Dark Wave was an excellent group control skill.

While gaining experience.

Tang Zheng also more clearly sensed the increase in the curse power within his body.

The curse power contained within these Petrified Lizards was clearly far beyond the magnitude of the curse power in the monsters he had encountered before.

It's just that.

Tang Zheng hadn't figured out what the use of absorbing this curse power was. It seemed that the intensity of the curse power hadn't changed either.

In a short while.

All dozen or so Petrified Lizards were slaughtered.

Crack!

He threw the cracked sword hilt onto the ground casually and scanned the experience on the panel.

【Experience Bar: 16789/10000】

The dozen or so Petrified Lizards caused his experience points to soar, already meeting the conditions to upgrade by another level.

"Not a bad harvest."

A smile appeared on Tang Zheng's face. He walked toward the unconscious Dagan and frowned when he saw that half of the other party's skin was already rotting.

In this situation.

He didn't have the means to resolve it either. Only by finding the source might there be a way.

Tang Zheng reached out and lifted the unconscious Dagan, swung his arm, and two Flame Archangels cleared the way in front.

Time passed bit by bit.

Tang Zheng was attacked by a few more monsters rotting all over, all of which he easily resolved.

【Experience Bar: 17520/10000】

Unfortunately, because these monsters were corroded by the curse power, their strength was not high, but the curse power energy harvested was quite a lot.

As they went deeper, the monsters rotting all over gradually disappeared, and the number of white bones on the ground began to increase.

After walking for about 20 minutes in the dark valley again.

Suddenly.

A huge cliff wall blocked the way ahead.

"No road?"

Tang Zheng walked up to the rough cliff wall and knocked on it forcefully, making a muffled sound.

It was solid!

Something was wrong.

A thought moved in Tang Zheng's mind, and he had the Flame Archangels move around the entire stone wall to act as searchlights.

Although he was wearing a "Night Vision" magic item on his left eye, it couldn't be like real daylight, allowing him to see some subtle places completely clearly.

After carefully checking and confirming that there were indeed no gaps in the stone wall in front of him, Tang Zheng directed the two Flame Archangels to continue exploring the stone wall above.

It wasn't until the two Flame Archangels rose to about ten meters that they discovered a hidden gap at the position where the stone wall met the rock wall on the left.

Tang Zheng had one Flame Archangel bring him up, and sure enough, he saw a broken hole.

Looking at the size of the hole.

It should have been dug open by a monster like a Petrified Lizard.

"The curse power is becoming increasingly active. Is it really inside here?"

Tang Zheng directed the other Flame Archangel to enter the hole with an expressionless face. After waiting for a while and nothing happened, he then entered the stone cave. The walls inside the cave were covered with fine scratches and dust, looking like they had existed for quite some time.

A while later.

The exit of the pitch-black cave had already come into view. The light emitted by the Flame Archangel that had entered in advance illuminated the cave entrance.

Tang Zheng stood at the cave entrance and looked downward.

This was a space similar to a crevice between cliff walls. The area was not large, and the light emitted by the two Flame Archangels was enough to illuminate the entire space.

"That is..." Tang Zheng narrowed his eyes and discovered something.

Boom!

Falling from a height of about ten meters, Tang Zheng's figure landed heavily on the ground, causing a vibrating sound to echo throughout the narrow space.

A dense, invisible power of curse surged within this cramped space.

Tang Zheng was the first to look ahead.

It was a human skeleton, slumped against the rock wall; the surface of the bones appeared grayish-white, and the joints connecting the limbs had long since decayed.

There wasn't even the smell of decay in the air, clearly indicating it had been dead for a very long time.

Most eye-catching of all!

Placed in front of this human skeleton was a giant scale, about a person's height, and pitch black in color!

Visible black curse energy was slowly overflowing from this scale, dissipating into the air.

"What on earth is this?" Tang Zheng couldn't help but widen his eyes, looking at this giant scale.

He had guessed all sorts of possibilities, but he never expected that the source of the curse power would actually be a scale?

And who was the human skeleton before him?

Calculating by time, it was impossible for an ordinary person's bones to exist for so long, especially in a space filled with curse power.

Walking up quickly, a flash of magic power appeared on Tang Zheng: "Identify Item!"

……

Item: Mysterious Scale

Rank:?

Description:?

……

Tang Zheng was slightly stunned; this was the first time he had encountered a situation where he couldn't identify the data at all.

Looking at the size of this scale, it should belong to a giant creature.

The curse power within his body became unusually restless.

Subconsciously.

Tang Zheng raised a finger and gently touched the black scale with his fingertip.

Boom—

In an instant, the black curse energy slowly dissipating from the scale seemed to find some kind of vent, surging violently into Tang Zheng's body.

The curse power that had already accumulated quite a bit reached a certain bottleneck in just a short time!

【Cursed Knight: 1lv→2lv】

The information about the job promotion on the attribute panel appeared before his eyes, causing a look of astonishment to appear on Tang Zheng's face.

And this process was still not over!

The curse power within the mysterious scale continued to pour in, and the curse power gradually dissipating in the air also gathered together with the energy from the mysterious scale.

This process lasted even longer.

Therefore, Tang Zheng was able to feel the changes in the curse power within his body even more clearly.

Hum—

The job information on the attribute panel refreshed again.

【Cursed Knight: 2lv→3lv】!

By this time, the curse power contained within the mysterious scale was completely exhausted, and grayish-white patterns began to emerge on the surface of the originally pitch-black scale.

"The job... leveled up?"

Tang Zheng looked at the experience bar, then at the 【Cursed Knight】 that had already reached level three, his expression both stunned and full of disbelief.

It was as if he had discovered a new continent.

All along.

Regarding job level promotion, Tang Zheng believed there were only two ways: either train specifically for that job like people in the Other World, but obviously, that was too time-consuming.

The other way was to use experience points to promote the job. But here, a third way to promote job levels had appeared!

"Can absorbing job-related energy actually increase job levels?"

Tang Zheng muttered to himself in surprise, then thought of something and shook his head.

This method did not seem to be universal.

For example, the "Sword Saint" job could not be promoted this way; it could only be done through training.

"What an incredible discovery!" A strange gleam flashed in Tang Zheng's eyes.
