The blue light swallowed them whole, and in the next breath they emerged into the grove’s hidden dimension. The air shimmered with quiet magic, calm yet alive.

Before them rose the colossal tree—its silver-blue bark shimmering faintly, its roots curling like ancient rivers across the ground, its branches stretching into an endless sky that belonged only to this place.

Serelyth stilled, her sapphire eyes widening. She stepped closer, tilting her head back to take in the immensity of it.

"...It has been long since I have seen this species," she murmured, almost reverent. "Most are gone... if any even remain in the outside world. Amazing." Her pale hand brushed the air as if caressing the memory of old forests.

Behind her, Renkai crossed his arms, his gaze drifting over the familiar surroundings.

"We come here sometimes," he said with a faint smile. "When Lira works. It feels... peaceful."

"Yes," Thalanir added, his voice warm. "This place is more than just ruins—it’s alive again because of her."

Serelyth turned slowly, taking in the grove. She noticed the sturdy wooden table tucked beneath the tree’s great roots, covered in glass vials, herbs tied in bundles, potion bottles catching the light like tiny stars. Plants of every kind grew near, thriving in the soft glow, their leaves trembling as if whispering to one another.

Her gaze moved past the grove’s heart, toward the wide clearing behind the tree. Her lips curved into a small smile.

"Ah... and there," she said softly, "a space where even I could stretch my wings and fly."

Her words lingered in the air, carrying both awe and a subtle longing.

Serelyth stepped closer to the massive tree, her delicate human-like form barely reaching the lower branches. She looked around the grove, eyes resting on the soft glow of herbs and plants thriving in the magical dimension. Then, she turned to Lira, her expression gentle yet sincere.

"Lira... may I rest here occasionally?" she asked, her voice almost melodic. "The tree... it is healing. Its magic, its life energy... it could even aid me in growing my power. I would be safe here, and it would mean much to me."

Lira’s eyes softened instantly. A smile curved her lips as she took Serelyth’s hands in hers.

"Of course," she said warmly. "This place is yours too, Serelyth. You are always welcome here, whenever you need."

Serelyth’s lips curved into a small, grateful smile. She lowered herself to sit on a patch of soft moss near the base of the tree, closing her eyes for a moment, letting the hum of the grove and the tree’s healing energy flow around her.

Meanwhile, Renkai and Thalanir hovered a little behind, near the table stacked with herbs and bottles. They exchanged glances, clearly pouting.

"I... I suppose it’s nice that the dragon can rest here," Renkai muttered, his arms crossed, lips pressed into a thin line. "But Lira... you’re spending a lot of attention on her."

Thalanir’s green eyes followed Lira as she moved closer to Serelyth, brushing her hand lightly across the dragon’s arm, whispering something that made the white-haired dragon laugh softly. "Yes," Thalanir added, letting out a quiet sigh. "We get that she’s important—but... maybe a little too much attention."

Lira glanced back, catching their expressions, and laughed softly. "I promise I’m not ignoring you," she said teasingly. "But Serelyth... she’s been through so much. I want to make sure she feels at home, too."

Serelyth opened her sapphire eyes and tilted her head toward the two friends. "Do not worry about them, little one," she said with a gentle hum. "I know they care for you. And I... I am grateful just to be here with you."

Renkai huffed, pretending to be annoyed, while Thalanir’s lips twitched in the hint of a smile. They stayed nearby, still slightly pouty, but the warmth of the grove and the presence of the dragon eased the tension.

Lira knelt beside Serelyth, brushing her fingers over the soft, almost ethereal glow that clung to her. The giant tree’s healing energy pulsed gently through the air, and the magical light of the grove seemed to wrap them in a calm embrace. Here, in this quiet, sacred place, Lira felt that every challenge, every battle, every sacrifice had been leading her to this—bonded not only with her friends but with a dragon whose presence now felt like home.

The grove was quiet, the soft hum of magic from the massive tree weaving through the air like a gentle heartbeat. Renkai sank onto a thick root of the ancient tree, stretching out lazily as he watched the soft shimmer of sunlight on the portal’s blue glow. Thalanir moved closer to a patch of glowing herbs, kneeling to examine them and tending carefully, humming a quiet tune.

Lira, meanwhile, guided Serelyth through the grove, showing her the small tables, the growing plants, and the clusters of herbs in various stages of growth. She held up a sprig of firebloom, letting it curl and glow faintly in her hands.

"And this one," she said, pointing to a plant with emerald-green leaves edged in gold, "it reacts to earth and fire together. If I channel them carefully, it strengthens the potion it will later become. Here, watch..."

Lira placed her hands above a small cauldron on the table. She combined a flicker of fire energy from her fingers with a pulse of earth magic drawn from the soil beneath her feet. The mixture in the cauldron shimmered, glowing with a soft amber light, sending up tiny sparks that danced over the leaves of nearby plants. The aroma shifted, warm and sweet with a hint of something grounding, earthy.

Serelyth leaned closer, eyes wide, her human-like hands hovering slightly above the table, unsure if she should touch. "I... I never imagined someone could do this," she whispered, her voice full of awe. "Mixing elements directly into potions... it is like bending nature itself to weave it into your will."

Lira smiled, brushing back a lock of her hair. "I started experimenting after the academy and after... well, after discovering the shards. Each element reacts differently, but when you combine them carefully, the results are amazing. Healing potions, energy elixirs... even plants themselves grow stronger."

Serelyth nodded slowly, her expression thoughtful. "I have heard stories... long ago, in times when multi-elemental users were more common, this was ordinary. Humans could weave two or more elements into their craft without hesitation. Plants, potions, even stones were shaped with this knowledge. But as the centuries passed, and the elemental lineages thinned, much of that knowledge was lost. People forgot how to bind the world’s forces together... and the secrets went with them."

She paused, looking at Lira with eyes like shining sapphires. "Few could have done what you do, little one. To mix fire and earth into a potion while keeping it balanced—most would burn the herbs or turn the mixture sour."

Lira’s cheeks warmed with pride, though a small flicker of humility softened her smile. "I’ve learned a lot by trying, failing... and then trying again. Every mistake taught me something new. But I never thought anyone would call it impressive."

Serelyth’s lips curved into a small, approving smile. "It is impressive. And it is important. Knowledge like this must not die. You, little one, are restoring what was lost. Perhaps one day, others will learn from you... or even surpass what we knew in the past."

Lira looked down at the glowing cauldron, then back at Serelyth. "Do you... think you could have taught this in your time?"

The dragon-turned-human’s gaze drifted toward the massive tree, her fingers brushing lightly along its glowing roots. "Perhaps. But I preferred to roam the skies, to watch over the lands, to guide where I could. Few could stay in one place long enough to truly master the craft. You, however... you are patient, clever, and brave enough to explore where others feared to tread."

The grove seemed to glow brighter as Serelyth spoke, the energy of the massive tree pulsing through every plant and root, feeding Lira’s own aura. She moved closer to Lira, placing her hands gently on the girl’s shoulders. "I am proud to watch you grow. And I am honored you let me see your work, little one. Even from centuries past, I could not have imagined seeing such mastery in one so young."

Lira’s eyes shimmered with a mixture of joy and determination. "Thank you... Serelyth. I want to learn even more. Not just for me, but for everyone who will come after. I don’t want these secrets to be lost again."

The dragon smiled softly, a quiet shimmer in her sapphire eyes. "Then you will learn, little one. And I will help, in whatever form you need me. But remember... every potion, every plant, every mixture has a life of its own. Respect it, listen to it, and it will serve you well."

The air of the grove hummed with energy, the combination of ancient magic, Serelyth’s presence, and Lira’s growing power creating a sanctuary unlike any other. Renkai leaned back against the great root, shaking his head in quiet amazement. Thalanir worked diligently, eyes following Lira with pride and awe. And at the center of it all, Lira and Serelyth continued to explore the wonders of the grove, sharing knowledge across centuries and forming a bond that would echo far beyond this hidden sanctuary.

Lira stood among the glowing herbs and softly humming plants, her gaze drifting upward toward the vast ceiling of magical space surrounding the giant tree. The portal light shimmered faintly, reflecting on her eyes.

"Serelyth," she asked hesitantly, excitement lacing her voice, "do you think... I could fly in this space? I want to see how much room there actually is."

The dragon’s sapphire eyes gleamed, a small playful smile curling her lips. "Of course, little one. But you must climb carefully."

With a graceful shimmer, Serelyth’s form began to shift, scales replacing her porcelain skin, wings unfurling wide and magnificent, catching the ethereal light of the grove. Her white scales gleamed faintly, catching the soft magic that lingered in the air.

Lira’s heart thudded with exhilaration as she climbed carefully onto Serelyth’s back, her hands gripping the smooth, warm scales. The dragon flexed her wings, muscles rippling under her shimmering skin, and slowly, deliberately, lifted into the air.

The initial lift made Lira gasp. Below her, the green grass spread out like a lush carpet, dotted with glowing herbs and magical plants. But as they rose higher, the true enormity of the space revealed itself. It expanded far beyond her previous imagination, stretching endlessly in every direction.

The air was fresh, tinged with the hum of magic. The space beneath them seemed alive, stretching into the distance without boundary, the faint shimmer of portals and small magical streams scattered throughout. Lira leaned forward, her eyes wide, heart pounding with awe. She had never realized the hidden dimension was so vast.

"This... this is incredible," she whispered, gripping Serelyth gently.

The dragon turned her head, letting her voice resonate through Lira’s mind. "It has potential, little one. You’ve only used the area around the tree at the entrance. Most of this space is untouched... waiting for you."

Serelyth tilted in a gentle arc, soaring over the grasslands and herb patches below. Lira gasped as the horizon stretched endlessly. Rivers of magical light shimmered faintly in the distance, twisting like silver threads across the emerald expanse. She could feel the pulse of the land beneath them, alive and vast, offering endless possibilities for growth, training, and creation.

As they turned in a wide circle, the grove shrinking beneath them, Lira’s mind raced. She envisioned planting entire sections with her hybrid plants, creating spaces for practice, experimenting with elemental mixtures, maybe even opening training arenas for future students who could visit here. The potential felt limitless.

Finally, Serelyth arched her wings and descended slowly, landing near the base of the colossal tree. Lira slid carefully from her back, breathless and wide-eyed, her mind still swirling with ideas.

"That space..." she murmured, almost to herself. "I could... I could do so much with it. All of it... and it could be my secret haven."

Serelyth lowered her head, a proud, warm gleam in her sapphire eyes. "Then it shall be yours, little one. Shape it as you wish. I will help when I can... but this space will grow with you, just as you grow with it."

Lira nodded, feeling the weight and the promise of endless possibilities, already imagining the gardens, experiments, and magical training grounds that could fill this incredible, endless sanctuary.
