Chapter 132: Preparations Before the Livestream

~10 min read 1,884 words

"Based on my understanding of Song Ya, she's definitely smashed her phone and is cursing you with the most vicious language right now."

Qin Yun watched Su Huan hang up the phone and found her mischief amusing.

"Hmph, let her curse—it won't chip off a piece of my flesh." Su Huan looked at him and smiled. "How's it going? You're so successful now—does Song Ya regret it? Did she call you in Beijing? Ever think about going back and picking up where you left off?"

Qin Yun instantly felt a faint aura of killing intent—as if answering wrong might get him killed.

He feigned calmness: "Funny enough, she actually came to my door—Song Ya's mother asked me to reconcile with her."

"But you know me—I don't have much else, but I've got stubborn bones." Qin Yun spoke with the detachment of someone who'd moved on. "Besides, since I chose divorce myself, it means I've completely let go. My feelings for Song Ya were worn out years ago—how could I turn back? I'm not an idiot."

"That's bizarre?" Su Huan widened her eyes. "Your ex-mother-in-law is insane—she'd actually do something like that."

Qin Yun shrugged; he felt the same. "The world's vast—strange things happen all the time. Nothing unusual."

The guesthouse allowed meal orders; they ordered four or five dishes, ate lunch, then went to Miaofeng Mountain to digest.

Along the road winding up Miaofeng Mountain, they walked slowly.

Just looking at the slope and curves, Su Huan's previously eased heart tightened again.

"You wouldn't dare drive over eighty on a stretch like this," she touched the rigid guardrail, imagining Qin Yun losing control in a turn, crashing into the barrier, broken and tragic.

"Relax," Qin Yun said casually. "I'll test it gradually these days—I won't jump straight into it. I'm not an idiot."

Su Huan immediately snapped: "You're an idiot. Thank goodness your mom said after watching your cliffside livestream, she'd never watch your videos again. Otherwise, watching them would give her a heart attack."

Qin Yun chuckled awkwardly, then frowned: "How do you know that? Did my mom tell you?"

"Uh-huh." Su Huan realized her slip, panic flaring inside her as if caught in a secret. "She mentioned it to me last time."

"Why does my mom tell you everything?" Qin Yun scratched his scalp, then suddenly froze, staring sharply at Su Huan. "Wait—that's impossible. Even I only found out later."

Su Huan, flustered and slightly angry, hardened her resolve: "So what? I've been contacting your mom more often—what's wrong with that? I'm her best friend now. Watch your tone, or you'll lose your rank."

Qin Yun couldn't help but laugh and raised his hands in surrender. "Fine, fine—I won't ask anymore, Aunt Su."

"Qin Yun!"

Su Huan shouted angrily and lunged at him. Seeing this, Qin Yun immediately ran uphill.

"Stop right there! Who are you calling Aunt Su?"

"Hahaha, you wanted to be on the same level as my mom—so shouldn't I call you Aunt Su?"

"Asshole!"

Some tourists strolling in the mountains watched their antics; several elders wore envious smiles.

Some even sighed: "These two young lovers really have great chemistry."

Hearing this, Su Huan's heart fluttered wildly—but she felt no displeasure; instead, a quiet joy stirred within her.

Watching Qin Yun sprint ahead, full of energy, Su Huan clenched her fists tightly.

"Hmph, this time, I won't let you go—not anyone."

By early afternoon, DBH staff and Red Bull's Asia-Pacific liaison arrived.

With Su Huan present, Qin Yun only needed to sign.

In under two hours, both contracts were signed.

Red Bull was sponsoring this downhill challenge: regardless of whether he succeeded in the 140km descent, thirty thousand yuan would be deposited by tomorrow—just wear Red Bull's custom goggles and display their logo in the edited video.

DBH was sponsoring all equipment and providing an additional ten thousand yuan.

Add Dji's twenty thousand and Casio's fifteen thousand, and his sponsorship income alone for this livestream already totaled seventy-five thousand yuan.

But this income was it—the entire downhill run wouldn't last long, and livestream tips would never match those from wilderness survival or mountain climbing.

After finalizing all contracts, Red Bull's staff suggested filming themselves, boasting their professionalism, but Qin Yun refused. Still, they went to Miaofeng Mountain and posted Red Bull logos along the route.

After seeing them off, he didn't rush to set the downhill time.

First, he had Su Huan contact Dji to send over a pile of cameras, to be installed along the entire downhill route and all linked back to Su Huan.

The most uncontrollable factor in the entire downhill was people.

Since he couldn't close the road, people as moving obstacles were inherently uncontrollable—so make them controllable.

These cameras were the key: once consolidated at Su Huan's end, he'd maintain real-time communication with her; together, they could minimize the impact of bystanders on Qin Yun.

Hearing Qin Yun's plan, Su Huan felt both excited and nervous.

"I'm afraid I won't react fast enough."

Qin Yun patted her back. "Don't stress—I'll mark every camera with you these two days. You just need to remember their numbers. I'll remind you too."

Su Huan nodded. "Then let's rehearse multiple times."

"Yeah. Before the actual descent, I'll walk the entire route repeatedly until there's zero flaw."

In the following days, Qin Yun and Su Huan frequently appeared on Miaofeng Mountain.

They memorized every data point, every marker, every hazard—these details determined success or failure, life or death; they dared not be careless.

Compared to Qin Yun's calmness, Su Huan's tension was obvious.

As November 21st approached, the first thing Qin Yun did upon waking was to post a livestream announcement on the backend.

【Have you ever seen a longboard downhill at 140km/h? Tomorrow at 8: 0 a. ., Miaofeng Mountain—don't miss it. I'll take you from zero to 140km/h.】

He reposted this announcement to his Weibo.

Weibo had stronger social attributes, but since he'd only recently registered, his feed held only two or three posts.

Yet his follower count exceeded ten million—an undeniable top influencer.

But his verification read: "Outdoor Enthusiast"—slightly lowering his prestige.

"Wow, Brother Qin is livestreaming again! A week's passed—I miss you so much."

"Long awaited."

"Holy shit, did my eyes deceive me or did Brother Qin typo?"

"Damn, 140km/h? Is Brother Qin trying to kill himself?"

"Downhill? Is this the legendary longboard downhill?"

"I remember the longboard downhill speed record is 142km/h—is Brother Qin aiming to break it?"

"Awesome—no surprise, Brother Qin."

"Body flying ahead, soul chasing behind. Brother Qin, I wouldn't drive that fast—do you really plan to dive down with your bare body?"

"Damn, I'm in Beijing—I'm going to Miaofeng Mountain."

"Me too, same here, same here—I'll witness Brother Qin's miracle in person."

"666, Brother Qin finally picked a place we can all see—I'm going too. I'm in Hebei—I'm leaving now."

"Hahaha, I'm right near Miaofeng Mountain—I'll go over and 'accidentally' bump into Brother Qin."

Weibo replies flooded in; Qin Yun watched for a while, then put his phone away.

Today was his last day of relaxed practice—he had to reach peak condition.

"Ding ding ding—"

Suddenly, his phone rang.

He checked: it was Chen He.

"Hello, Brother He."

"Brother Qin, good morning. You're at Miaofeng Mountain?"

"Yeah. Saw my Douyin announcement?" Qin Yun opened the door and stepped downstairs.

"I saw your Weibo. Funny, guess where I am right now?"

Qin Yun paused. "You're not in Beijing too, are you?"

"Hahaha! I'm at Jiufeng National Forest Park—right next to Miaofeng Mountain."

"That's a coincidence?"

"You bet." Chen He chuckled. "I'm filming Wu Ha. I woke up and saw your Weibo."

"Wu Ha?" Qin Yun rubbed his nose—he rarely watched variety shows and knew little about current programs.

"Dude, you don't even know Wu Ha? Wu Ha means Hahaha—me, Chao Ge, Lu Han, Lao Fan, Lao Jiu, and Wang Mian—we've got an outdoor reality show."

"Okay, I don't watch much variety—only your Run Man."

"Chen He, what are you doing? Hurry up, I can't hold it anymore."

A voice came from Chen He's phone, impatient.

Chen He called back: "Alright, alright, don't rush."

He opened the door; a figure rushed in, sat on the toilet without hesitation, and let loose.

"Damn it, couldn't you wait till I'm out? Fuck, stinks to high heaven."

"Hahaha, served you right for being slow. Who you calling? I'll tell your wife."

"Fuck." Chen He flipped him off. "Brother Qin, I'm on the phone with Brother Qin—you don't know him."

"Brother Qin?"

The bathroom door closed; Deng Chao realized: "Holy shit—is that the legendary Brother Qin?"

"Obviously—who else?"

"Don't leave—I need to borrow his fans."

Chen He shook his head into the phone: "That was Chao Ge. Tomorrow's livestream—I'll talk to the director and see if we can delay filming. We're right next door—watching live is way more thrilling than being on set."

"Hahaha, watch out—the director might kick you out."

"He dares."

After hanging up, Qin Yun didn't dwell on it. He had breakfast with Su Huan and went out.

Meanwhile, Chen He left his room and headed straight to the director's door, knocking.

"Li Dao, Li Dao, are you up yet?"

After knocking for a long time, a woman with disheveled hair opened the door and glared at him: "Chen He, if you don't have a good reason, I'll make you understand what a director's power means."

Chen He smiled awkwardly and quickly explained the matter.

Li Lin immediately flew into a rage: "Chen He, I'm a woman too, and a middle-aged woman at that—poor sleep makes me age fast."

Half an hour later, Li Lin looked up from Chen He's phone, her eyes gleaming.

"Chen He, I have an idea—what do you think?"

"Li Dao, go ahead, I'm all ears."

"Can you ask this person to include his live stream in our recording tomorrow?"

Hearing this, Chen He immediately shook his head: "Li Dao, you probably don't understand what 140 means—it's dangerous. Qin Ye must have prepared extensively; I wouldn't dare disrupt his plans."

"What don't I understand? I've driven over 150 on the highway plenty of times." Li Lin rolled her eyes. "If you won't do it, then help me set up a meeting—I'll talk to him myself. I won't shortchange him on payment."

"Qin Ye is such a big streamer—do you think he cares about money?"

"It's mutual benefit—nothing wrong with saying it. Even if it doesn't work out, it's no big deal."

Chen He regretted bringing this up to her.

But right now, even without him, Li Lin had plenty of ways to contact Qin Yun.

"Fine, I'll arrange it—but you handle the conversation with him yourself. And don't be stingy with the money—he doesn't care about cash. One live stream earns him at least five million."

Li Lin bared her teeth, deeply shocked.

But she was a decisive person and immediately told Chen He to contact Qin Yun.

When Qin Yun received the call, he had just arrived at the summit of Miaofeng Mountain with Su Huan.

After hearing Chen He's words, Qin Yun had no reservations. He thought for a moment and said: "I'm free in two hours. If Li Dao is available, she can come over and talk."

"Available, available—we're off today."

"Alright, see you soon—I'll send you the location."
