Chapter 226: The Boss of Longkong (Can You Guess Who?)
Once, twice, three times… Su Huan found it amusing, but by the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth jumps, she was utterly bored.
Anyone could see Qin Yun was completing his parachute jump purely to rush through it—since the A-license requirement only demanded stable exit, proper body posture, accurate altitude judgment, and smooth parachute deployment.
For Qin Yun, none of these were issues at all; so it was no surprise that Su Huan was bored, and Yan Da himself was growing bored too.
When the final jump of the day ended, he chuckled bitterly: "This A-license is pure waste of time for Master Qin."
Su Huan asked: "Is the B-license more complicated?"
Yan Da nodded: "The B-license requires fifty jumps total—so after Master Qin gets his A-license, he still needs twenty-five more, including Dingdian landing, water landing, and night jumps."
Su Huan decided she wouldn't come tomorrow—staying at the hotel was fine enough.
"For Master Qin, it's just a matter of accumulating jumps, but our base's limit is only twelve jumps per day—if we go over, someone will report us and we're done for."
"I understand!"
Time flew by, and it was April 21st—the eighth day since Qin Yun arrived in Aviation Town. He had already secured his B-license and was only a hundred or so jumps away from the C-license.
His certification speed was astonishing; compared to the Longkong Club members struggling through three or four jumps a day, Qin Yun was lightning-fast.
But at this pace, he'd barely make it to the C-license before the registration deadline—this left him genuinely frustrated.
As for increasing daily jumps, he'd never suggest it—too great a risk for any base; no one knew what consequences a report might bring.
Yan Da was helpless too.
Through countless jumps, Yan Da had seen Qin Yun's true ability—this level of competitive skill far surpassed domestic standards and could easily win awards on the international stage.
When Qin Yun returned to the hotel, Su Huan was typing on her laptop. Hearing him, she turned around.
"What's wrong? You look downcast."
Qin Yun sighed and wrapped his arms around her from behind: "Don't mention it—yesterday the helicopter broke down, we lost two jumps. With this count, I won't finish the C-license before month-end."
Su Huan kissed his cheek: "You never had a chance to begin with—it was only because Da-ge gave you special permission that this was even possible."
"It's just a pity," Qin Yun said helplessly. "I really thought I had a shot."
"Why not find a club to sponsor you?"
Su Huan suggested.
Qin Yun hesitated: "Most domestic clubs are a mix of good and bad—I'm afraid of the trouble."
"Then there's no other option. If you want to compete, this is your only path."
"Yes," Qin Yun agreed. "I'll have to find a club to sponsor me—I'll ask Da-ge tomorrow."
As they spoke, a knock came at the door.
They exchanged glances—they had no acquaintances here.
Qin Yun opened the door. It wasn't someone else—it was Ye Ran.
"Miss Ye, what brings you here?"
"Master Qin, do you have time? I'd like to discuss something with you."
Qin Yun thought for a moment, then turned to Su Huan: "Xiao Huan, I'll be right back."
"Mm."
He closed the door and followed Ye Ran to the hotel café.
"What would Master Qin like?"
"Hot chocolate is fine."
Ye Ran ordered a hot chocolate and an Americano, then quickly got to the point.
"Master Qin, I heard you're doing twelve jumps a day—surely getting your C-license won't be a problem?"
Qin Yun took a sip and sighed: "Under normal circumstances, I won't make it by month-end—there's simply not enough time."
Ye Ran's expression turned startled: "You won't make it?"
"Why? Whether I get my C-license or not has nothing to do with you, Miss Ye," Qin Yun said, puzzled.
Ye Ran sighed: "I wanted to invite you to join Longkong Club and represent us in the Red Bull Extreme Dingdian Skydiving Championship—but the entry requirement is a C-license. Without it, there's nothing we can do."
"Invite me to join Longkong Club?"
Qin Yun's mind stirred. "Miss Ye, what level is your club?"
Skydiving clubs also had certification levels, just like licenses, all accredited by USPA.
Ye Ran said: "Longkong is one of only two A-level clubs in China—the other is the Hurricane Club in the northwest."
Qin Yun felt a wave of relief—it was as if he'd searched far and wide, only to find it right under his nose.
"If your club is A-level, then I can compete under your club's name."
Ye Ran frowned: "But the rules require competitors to hold a C-license—how can you compete?"
Qin Yun smiled: "Miss Ye, you don't know—I already explained my situation to Red Bull. Their solution was to find a B-level club to sponsor me. Once I register, they'll handle all the paperwork."
"Really?" Ye Ran's eyes widened. She nodded eagerly. "Longkong will do it—as long as you agree to represent us."
"Alright, let's settle this for now. Prepare the agreement—I'll report to Red Bull tomorrow."
"Okay, I'll go prepare it right away."
Ye Ran hurried off, clearly delighted.
Qin Yun returned to the room and told Su Huan. She smiled too.
"See? Heaven never closes a door without opening another."
…
The next day, Lu Hao was stunned.
He stared at the agreement Ye Ran had prepared, checking the name over and over.
"Sis Ye, do you really not trust us to perform well in the competition?"
Ye Ran rolled her eyes: "Do you think you'll make it to the semifinals? Or even the finals?"
"Does he think he can?" Lu Hao retorted.
You Jundu and Ding Shuo both rolled their eyes.
"Lu Hao, being young and stubborn is normal—but if you can't face reality, that's stupidity," You Jundu chided him, leaving him visibly embarrassed.
Ding Shuo added: "This is good news. If Master Qin places in the competition, Longkong will gain fame—and we'll surpass Hurricane to become China's top skydiving club."
"I agree," Ye Ran said cheerfully. "With Master Qin, we have eight competitors. My goal is just two of us making the semifinals."
"Wait a minute," Lu Hao suddenly remembered. "Why would he join Longkong? What's in it for him?"
Ye Ran didn't mention Qin Yun couldn't get his C-license—she simply said: "I begged him. Whether he competes under his own name or ours, it's still representing China. In international events, nationality matters most. He saw the logic and agreed."
Lu Hao nodded, finding it reasonable.
"Hmph, Sis Ye, don't worry—I'll make the semifinals for sure."
He still had self-awareness—he didn't claim he'd reach the finals. After all, only ten spots existed for finals—he had no chance of grabbing one.
Once the three Longkong Club members completed their 200 jumps and earned their C-licenses, Qin Yun paused his own training and joined Ye Ran and the others on a trip to Hangzhou's Longkong Club.
Longkong Club was large—its owner must be very wealthy, given how much prime downtown real estate it occupied.
"Brother Yang, is the boss here?"
"The boss left half an hour ago—went back to Shanghai."
Ye Ran sighed. She should've warned him ahead of time—now the surprise was ruined. The boss was gone!
She turned to Qin Yun: "Master Qin, our boss is your biggest fan—he watches every one of your livestreams. We wanted to surprise him, but now he's gone to Shanghai."
"Is your boss from Shanghai?"
Ye Ran nodded: "Yes. The club is just one of his ventures—he visits occasionally. His main business is in Shanghai."
As they toured the club, they wandered into Ye Ran's office without realizing it.
"Look—he's the boss. Zeng Luo."
Ye Ran pointed to a group photo on the desk.
Qin Yun froze. He looked up sharply: "What's your boss's name?"
"Zeng Luo. Sounds a bit feminine, but our boss is very masculine."
Qin Yun suddenly remembered who that name belonged to. He pulled out his phone, opened WeChat, and entered a group.
He took a photo of the picture, then circled one person: "@Zeng Luo, I never expected Longkong Club is yours."
Correct—Qin Yun's major backer, Polang Ge, was none other than Zeng Luo. The name was obscure, and he was from Shanghai—Qin Yun was certain it was the same person.
Soon, WeChat replied.
Zeng Luo: "???"
Qin Yun: "I'm at Longkong Club now, preparing to compete in the Red Bull Extreme Dingdian Skydiving Championship under Longkong's name."
Zeng Luo: "Master Qin, wait for me—I'm coming back right now."
Zeng Luo, already on the elevated highway, immediately told his driver: "Qiang, turn back to Longkong Club."
The driver nodded and took the next exit.
Over half an hour later, Zeng Luo returned to the club.
Seeing Qin Yun, he was ecstatic, rushing forward to embrace him: "Master Qin, is this true? You're really going to represent Longkong in the competition?"
Ye Ran watched, thinking: The boss is too excited—how do fans feel meeting idols? Wait—I never told him Qin Yun was going to represent Longkong!
For a moment, she was confused.
"Hahaha, isn't this funny?" Qin Yun laughed. "Who'd have thought our first meeting would be like this?"
"Funny. Too funny."
Zeng Luo felt the same disbelief—he was Qin Yun's fan, but had never imagined meeting him offline.
Yet here they were, meeting under such circumstances.
"With Brother Qin helping Changkong, this final is already secured."
Among those who had watched Brother Qin's livestreams from the beginning, Zeng Luo had witnessed Qin Yun's rise and understood his strength all the better—he figured that if Qin Yun was willing to compete, he was certainly aiming for first place; after all, what was just a final match?
"Ye Ran, call Coach Nie and all the competing team members to the conference room. Since Brother Qin is joining this competition, we must take it seriously."
"Got it, I'll go get them."
After Ye Ran left, Zeng Luo noticed Su Huan as if seeing her for the first time, his expression slightly tense: "This must be Sister-in-law. I'm Zeng Luo—you can call me Xiao Zeng or Xiao Luo."
Su Huan extended her hand warmly and shook his: "Xiao Luo, nice to meet you."
"Come on, I'll take you to the conference room," Zeng Luo said eagerly. "With Brother Qin competing, Changkong will surely make a name for itself."
Qin Yun smiled faintly: "Don't put that much pressure on me—what if I don't even pass the preliminary round? I'd be utterly humiliated."
"Hahaha, that's impossible."
Soon, the three arrived at the conference room. In a short while, under Ye Ran's lead, nearly a dozen figures entered through the door.
Besides Lu Hao, Ding Shuo, and You Jindu, whom he had met before, he didn't recognize the rest. The two at the front, both around forty, were surely the coaches.
"Coach Nie, Coach Jiang, let me introduce you."
"Hahaha, no need—everyone knows Brother Qin's name."
Coach Nie grasped Qin Yun's hand warmly and shook it vigorously.
"Brother Qin, I've long admired your name."
