Chapter 293: The Furious Mother Elephant (Again, Third Chapter)

~7 min read 1,318 words

Qin Yun turned with the momentum, slung the vine over his shoulder, and pushed forward again.

At that moment, three hyenas lunged at him without hesitation, their appearance utterly chilling.

Just as Qin Yun prepared to meet them, the baby elephant beside him was also attacked by two hyenas. Though small, the baby elephant still weighed around a thousand jin—were it not terrified, the hyenas would truly struggle to take it down.

But now, after enduring the swamp’s devouring, the baby elephant was utterly exhausted, and with these ferocious hyenas surrounding and terrifying it, it trembled even more.

Its cries of “Wu-wu-wu-wu—” came in frantic bursts.

On the other side, the mother elephant heard her calf’s cries and flew into a rage—but the more critical the moment, the less she could panic. If she fell from the trunk again, all would be lost. Qin Yun felt the vine’s tension and shouted to calm her.

Simultaneously, he sidestepped and delivered a brutal kick to the rear of one hyena—a downward groin strike that instantly crippled it.

Viewers in the livestream felt their scalps crawl and their groins tighten.

“Damn, Brother Qin is brutal.”

“Holy shit.”

“…………”

The baby elephant was temporarily safe, but Qin Yun now faced a crisis with three hyenas. Especially since his hands were bound by vines—he could only dodge and attack with his legs, greatly increasing his risk of injury.

Yet most of the hyenas were still attacking Dahuang; alone, Dahuang drew twelve hyenas.

“Aow—!”

Suddenly, Dahuang let out a piercing howl as a hyena bit down hard on his left thigh—their crushing bite tore off a chunk of flesh.

“Bang!”

Dahuang slammed his paw down before the hyena could retreat, crushing its skull, then clamped his jaws around its throat.

A sharp “crack” echoed—the hyena died instantly.

Meanwhile, other hyenas surged forward, and in an instant, seven or eight of them swarmed over Dahuang.

In the livestream footage, Qin Yun was being torn apart by three hyenas, Dahuang was being mauled by seven or eight, two hyenas were lunging at the baby elephant, and another seven or eight circled nearby, watching hungrily.

“In peril! In peril!”

“Brother Qin, think of something—otherwise Dahuang is dead!”

“The mother elephant’s almost out, she’s almost free!”

“Hold on just a little longer!”

“Ssshh—!”

After prolonged dodging, Qin Yun’s left arm was grazed by a hyena—flesh and blood flew everywhere.

His face darkened. He drove a knee upward, launching the hyena into the air, then sidestepped the attacks of the other two. He glanced back at the mother elephant in the swamp—her pace of escape had accelerated. Once both legs freed themselves, she could swiftly depart along the trunk.

But he couldn’t wait.

“Hah—!”

Qin Yun sank his Qi into his dantian, surged with both arms, stepped forward several paces, and reached the trunk of a nearby Jin Hehuan tree. He wrapped the two vines around it, tying a tight, unbreakable knot.

“Aow—!”

The three hyenas lunged at his back, aiming to tear him apart.

But…

Shhh!

A blade’s flash cut through the air—Qin Yun leapt clear of the encirclement.

“Bang… bang… bang…”

The three hyenas tumbled from the air, crashing heavily to the ground, their necks gushing blood, bodies twitching before falling still.

Seeing this, the seven or eight hyenas circling nearby roared and charged at him.

Qin Yun ignored them—Dahuang’s screams came one after another, truly dire. His body swept across the ground, swift as thunder, and in an instant he was behind the dozen hyenas.

“Puch—!”

The dagger flashed like lightning, stabbing into the rear of one hyena, then dragging forward—its entrails spilled onto the earth. Before it ended, Qin Yun seized the head of another hyena and slammed it hard into the side of a third.

“Clang!” The two hyenas collapsed, dazed and stunned.

This sequence of movements happened in a flash—so swift the hyenas only now reacted, scattering outward and breaking free from Dahuang’s vicinity.

Dahuang was now truly covered in wounds; a large chunk of flesh was gone from his left hind leg, exposing bone—pale and ghastly.

Countless smaller cuts covered his body. Against a dozen hyenas, he could offer no effective resistance—just as when Qin Yun first saw him, he was easily overpowered, trapped in crisis.

Qin Yun patted his head, then turned to face the hyenas that had once again surrounded them.

He touched his left arm wound—it burned fiercely.

“Damn it, you dared to hurt Laozi.”

At that moment, a low, rumbling growl echoed—deep as thunder, terrifying beyond measure.

Qin Yun whirled around—the mother elephant, trapped in the swamp, had finally freed one leg. With both legs now able to push, her body slowly, steadily, broke free.

Instantly, all the hyenas grew agitated.

“Hahaha, the mother elephant’s free!”

“These hyenas are done for.”

“The mother elephant’s furious—she’s going to attack my savior. You’re all dead.”

Viewers online erupted.

They’d spent countless gifts on the mother elephant.

Amid hesitation and delay, the mother elephant finally broke free, stepped onto the trunk, and returned safely to shore—then charged forward in a rage.

Her long trunk snatched up one hyena and whipped it violently into the ground.

“Bang!” The hyena let out a shrill scream and died instantly.

Hyenas are pragmatic creatures—they know when to flee when outmatched. But Qin Yun and Dahuang, prepared for this, immediately blocked their escape routes.

“Hahahaha, trying to run? Where to?”

As Qin Yun dodged one hyena, he grabbed another by the rear and hurled it into the swamp. The hyena thrashed wildly—but the more it struggled, the deeper it sank; soon, half its body was buried.

“Bang… clang… slap…”

A series of thuds rang out—the mother elephant flinging hyenas against different surfaces. Each strike killed one. The true, unchallenged king of the grassland’s power chilled the blood.

Thus, under Qin Yun and Dahuang’s blockade, everyone watched as the enraged mother elephant slaughtered every single hyena—none escaped.

The only survivor was the one Qin Yun had thrown into the swamp—but the slow, suffocating terror of drowning would be far worse.

After slaughtering all the hyenas, the mother elephant’s gaze fell on Dahuang, covered in wounds—her wariness obvious. But when she turned to Qin Yun, her eyes instantly softened.

She stepped forward, brushing her trunk gently against Qin Yun’s face, then rubbed her head back and forth against his skull—as if conveying gratitude.

Qin Yun patted her massive head, deeply moved.

“Wu-wu—!”

The baby elephant, seeing its mother, let out soft cries, circling her legs and nuzzling against them.

“Phew… that had me on edge.”

“Elephants are terrifying—dozens of hyenas couldn’t even land one blow.”

“Scary—I think even Brother Qin couldn’t beat it.”

“Obviously. Elephants are scarier than rhinos. Raw strength is just basic.”

“Beat you to death.”

The scene was now a carnage of blood and flesh—hyena corpses littered the ground, the stench of gore thick and nauseating.

He pulled out a mineral water bottle, poured some into the mother elephant’s mouth, and gave small amounts to himself, Dahuang, and the baby elephant.

Finally, he patted the mother elephant, preparing to leave.

“Stay safe. We’re going.”

The mother elephant seemed to understand—she wrapped her trunk gently around his hand, as if begging him not to go.

But Qin Yun pointed to Dahuang’s wounds.

“Dahuang needs treatment. If he gets infected, it’ll be worse.”

Watching Qin Yun communicate with the elephant as if it were human, the livestream viewers were utterly baffled.

Yet the mother elephant truly seemed to understand—slowly, she released her grip.

Qin Yun patted her trunk, then the baby elephant’s head, and finally turned away with Dahuang, showing no hesitation.

“I need to treat Dahuang immediately—rinse off every possible bacterium. If he dies from infection, it’d be a waste.”

Qin Yun said to the camera, then returned to the sparse woodland, found a shady spot, took out another bottle of water, and began treating Dahuang.
