Chapter 328: Training Ends (2/3)
"Mom, yeah, I'm fine. Qin has been good to me; you don't need to worry."
"Brad? What does he want?" Lei En's mood suddenly flared up, "Mom, you absolutely must not listen to him."
"Lei En, don't worry. I didn't even let him step through the door. That bastard won't drag us down—he definitely heard about the bonus."
"Yeah, that's definitely it." Lei En was furious, "Tell him to get lost. He won't get a single penny from us."
Even after hanging up, Lei En remained irritable; Fang Yuan beside him curiously asked, "Lei En, what's wrong?"
Lei En clenched his fists: "It's my father—the bastard who abandoned our family when I was five. He found out I got a hundred thousand dollars and went to Mom, spouting sweet lies. His motive is obvious."
Lei En spoke quickly; Fang Yuan barely understood and could only murmur a vague reply.
The others nearby exchanged glances, unsure how to comfort him.
In the U. S., the most classic insult to a Black person is: "You got no dad!"
It seems Lei En didn't escape this classic logic.
Among the Black underclass in the U. S., most Black men lack paternal love—seven out of ten families are like this, utterly absurd.
This was Lei En's own matter; no one said much more.
After finishing their calls, everyone returned to the sandstorm simulation zone. By this stage of the training, they all knew it was nearly over. No matter how much theoretical knowledge they had, it couldn't match reality.
The simulation zone could only mimic sand, wind, and temperature—almost none of the real-world conditions they'd face were present, and all of it was just theory.
But since the temperature and sand were real, getting accustomed to the environmental conditions ahead of time wasn't a bad idea.
……
"What's the situation now? Why hasn't Brother Qin posted a single photo from the training?"
"I don't know. I sneaked over there to check—the gate was tightly shut, couldn't get in at all."
"The Taklamakan Desert—it's called the Sea of Death, a demonic zone. Brother Qin must be under huge pressure; he's got to lead five ordinary people inside. That's not as simple as one plus one—he must protect their safety."
"Brother Qin's got guts. Honestly, picking an island wouldn't be so bad."
"You clearly don't understand Brother Qin. Since his livestream began, he's always pushed limits. Choosing an island survival scenario would be no challenge at all for him. If it were just about money, sure—he could do that. But clearly, Brother Qin isn't that kind of person."
"Yeah, I don't envy a single penny Brother Qin earns."
"Does anyone have Su Damei's social media account? It's already the 3rd—training's almost over. At least post a photo."
On social media, people daily demanded he share updates from the training, but Qin Yun ignored them all.
As some said, his pressure really was substantial.
Despite the past ten days—where Fang Yuan and the others could answer his questions without hesitation and adapted well in the simulation zone—it was still all theory. Once they entered the real environment, everything would change.
At this moment, Changkong Club.
Qin Yun brought the five of them here. When Qin Yuwén and the others asked, Qin Yun told them that on the day of the official livestream, each of them would need to skydive into the desert.
This terrified them all!
They all had zero experience—and Qin Yun demanded they obtain their Class A skydiving certification within four days, by the end of training on the 6th.
"Brother Qin, rest assured. We'll get them their A certs within three days."
Nie Jun puffed out his chest, making the promise.
Qin Yun laughed heartily: "Then I leave it to you."
Then he turned to Fang Yuan and the other five: "For the next few days, train hard here. My standard isn't high—just get your A cert. Anyone can get it."
After handing them over to Nie Jun, Qin Yun had dinner with the club staff and left.
Back home, the whole family was gathered, playing mahjong.
Hu Fen and Su Huan's parents had been in Hangzhou for about ten days. Qin Yun had had no time, so Su Huan had been taking them around the city.
But Hangzhou was exhausted in ten days—these past few days, the group had gotten hooked on mahjong.
"Mom, Father-in-law, Mother-in-law, wife—I'm back."
Qin Yun walked in to see exactly this scene.
"Son, you're back. There's fruit in the fridge—help yourself, and make each of us a glass of juice."
Hu Fen glanced at Qin Yun and gave orders immediately.
"Xiao Yun, you're back. Are you tired?" Qin Ran and Su Changhe's eyes lit up upon seeing him.
Qin Yun smiled: "Not tired. Teaching classes is easy."
He went into the kitchen, squeezed four glasses of juice, placed one beside each person, then walked behind Su Huan without disturbing them.
After nearly two months of Pregnancy period, her belly still wasn't very noticeable, but her figure had already changed. Unlike others, though Su Huan had gained some fullness, her biggest change was still her skin.
Her skin had become more lustrous, fine as if poreless, impossibly smooth to the touch.
Her long hair was pinned high, revealing Bai Xi's long, elegant neck—making him want to reach out.
As if sensing his intensely invasive gaze, Su Huan shot him a glare, then stood: "You play. I'm going to the bathroom."
Qin Yun grinned: "I'll make sure you crush everyone."
Hu Fen grumbled: "With your skill, don't end up losing all of Huan's money."
After mahjong, Su Huan stared at the lone five-yuan bill on the table, utterly speechless.
Qin Yun justified it: "Feng shui rotates. My luck just turned when I sat down—can't blame me."
Back in their room, Su Huan asked: "Why did you suddenly come home?"
"Spontaneous idea—I'm going to use skydiving for the livestream entrance, so I've been dumping them at Changkong Club these past few days to get their A certs."
"Skydiving?" Su Huan paused, then thought carefully, "That's actually a good idea. But are you sure it'll work?"
"No problem." Qin Yun nodded. "It's just skydiving—not that hard. A few times of practice and they'll be fine."
Hearing him say that, Su Huan didn't press further. She knew skydiving was mostly about practice. She returned to the study and placed a stack of documents before Qin Yun.
"Take a look. These are all the contracts for this livestream. Total value: one hundred and twenty million."
"Whoa…" Qin Yun knew it was a lot, but not this much. No wonder Su Huan didn't want to talk on the phone—she wanted him to see it himself.
That number was staggering.
He flipped through them—DJI, Red Bull, Anta, Camel Peak… Douyin. Of course the biggest sum was from Douyin; after all, he had to produce content, and Douyin wasn't stingy either—the amount was essentially a title-sponsorship fee.
All sorts of brands added up to a dozen or so. Of course, every brand was tied to a real product rather than just being crammed in as an ad—this was something Qin Yun still cared about.
"Tsk tsk, haven't even started yet and already made that much." Qin Yun shook his head smugly.
Su Huan gave a faint smile: "All of it comes with one condition—the livestream has to run for at least seven days. Whether it succeeds or not, it must hit seven days."
Qin Yun gave a slight nod. That was understandable—after all, they were all businessmen; who would run a losing deal?
Setting the contract aside, he pulled Su Huan into his arms and gave her a hard kiss: "My wife is really capable."
Su Huan gave a half-smile, slipped her hand down, and grabbed something: "Are you sure you're praising me, and not thinking about…"
Hearing such an explicit remark, Qin Yun's little brother stood right up: "Sister-in-law, that's the big brother's business, nothing to do with me."
Qin Yun let out a sheepish chuckle and shrank back. He didn't dare bother that person right now, so he quickly changed the subject.
"The wedding—what did they decide?"
Su Huan gave a soft hum and let go: "For now it's set for November 12, but everything depends on you—you have to make the call."
Qin Yun thought it over. The livestream was on October 8; counting ten days, by then there'd still be at least twenty days or so until the 12th, so time-wise it was more than enough. There was no way he'd be stuck in the desert that long—the Taklamakan wasn't so vast it could trap him for a whole month.
"Then let's go with that day. What about friends—what do you say?"
Su Huan said: "Let's just do it the way we discussed before. Just invite a few classmates, no one else. Keep it simple—no need to invite everyone, no need."
"Alright, then that's that."
The two of them were of one mind on this. After a brief discussion of which friends to invite, he left the matter to Su Huan—after all, their friends were almost all mutual friends.
……
On October 6, the five who had returned once more to the Banshan Liye training base in Hangzhou had each smoothly obtained their skydiving A-license. Completing an opening jump was clearly no longer a problem.
Qin Yun's gaze swept over Fang Yuan, Ryan, Tian Zhong Aoi, Elizabeth, and Qin Yuwen. Apart from Ryan, everyone had darkened a shade. No matter how much sunscreen the three girls applied, it was no use—they still got tanned.
"The sixteen-day training camp ends here today. Tomorrow we depart from Xiaoshan Airport, head to Xinjiang, rest one night in Korla, and the next day take a helicopter straight into the heart of the Taklamakan Desert to officially kick off the livestream. Everyone, are you ready?"
"Ready!"
Everyone shouted loudly.
