Chapter 111: It's You

~4 min read 617 words

He looked at Wu Yue sincerely: "I don't know if you have any good ideas?"

Wu Yue sneered, "You think with just a bucket you can trick me into making food for you? You're beautiful in looks, and beautiful in your thoughts."

He said with a troubled face: "Oh dear, I can't do anything about this either; the ways to prepare wild vegetables in the tribe are all the same—maybe you'll get used to it."

Looking at the little female's round, glistening eyes, Yun Lang felt amused in his heart.

This deceitful little female wants the horse to run but doesn't want to feed it grass—where could there be such a good deal?

He then shook his head and said: "Forget it; these small wooden buckets I carefully polished are meant to be exchanged with females for tasty food."

Wu Yue had the feeling she had suddenly arrived at an auntie's market to haggle, but...

"Don't be so hasty, I haven't finished speaking yet."

Yuan Lang: "!!!"

His tiger-like face showed shock: "Miss, is this how you use the word 'hasty'?"

If this were the former world, speaking like that would easily make others think this general is a rogue!

Perhaps realizing her wording was improper, Wu Yue gave an embarrassed laugh: "Well, I can also help you make some food, but if I need tools later, you'll have to help me make them."

Yuan Lang secretly rejoiced, but his handsome face showed no change: "Of course."

By the time the two returned to the tribe, it was nearly time for dinner.

The news that several gathering team captains had eaten poisonous food began to spread through the tribe.

After helping Wu Yue set down the bucket, Yuan Lang took out the wooden bucket that the stone forest had helped her make in her room: "The polished smooth one is for you to use, this one I'll take."

Wu Yue's face lit up with surprise: "Really?"

Yuan Lang raised his eyebrows: "I never lie."

But when I tell lies, even I am afraid...

Having received the favor, Wu Yue consciously picked up the two small wooden buckets and said: "Let's go; I'll help you take them back to the cave—you couldn't carry that many by yourself."

Yuan Lang thought to himself: "Of course I could carry them."

But... he raised his head, touched his nose, and of course would not say that out loud.

The two walked toward Yuan Lang's cave while chatting.

"Wu Yue, stop right there."

A haughty female voice sounded from behind.

Wu Yue and Yuan Lang exchanged a glance; they were all too familiar with that voice, since it hadn't been long since they last heard it.

The two turned around.

Sure enough, Ye Duo stood there with a ferocious expression, beside her the pale-faced Aya and several half-beast warriors.

Wu Yue glanced at her indifferently: "What do you want from me?"

Jealousy flickered in Ye Duo's eyes, but she took a deep breath and struggled to suppress it.

"Are the red bumps on A Mu and all the grandmothers' bodies your doing?"

Her voice was full of hostility.

Wu Yue frowned and gave a light laugh: "I just can't understand—I've never offended you, so why do you keep targeting me?"

"Do you have any evidence?"

Ye Duo sneered, stepping closer to Wu Yue: "It seems you're the only female in the tribe who knows about herbs."

Wu Yue chuckled: "What does that prove? Maybe someone accidentally mixed in some poisonous grass while gathering."

The surrounding tribespeople all nodded, and an older grandmother said: "Such things have happened in the tribe before, and some tribespeople have died from mistakenly eating poisonous wild grass."
