Chapter 16: Hemostatic Grass
"You weren't going to do repairs?" Wu Yue said contemptuously.
The system said righteously: "Repairs are complete; I'll provide you with better service, dear~"
Here it comes again, this strong scent of some treasure.
"Yue, your hand is bleeding." Qingcao's voice, slightly worried, sounded in her ear.
Wu Yue came to her senses, then felt the piercing pain from her fingers, and involuntarily grimaced.
Damn, she was indeed injured; Wu Yue felt utterly miserable inside.
Qingcao beside her looked at her with an increasingly conflicted gaze; Yue's body was too weak, a female who couldn't even gather, and no male would want to mate with her.
The surrounding females looked at Wu Yue's bleeding finger with eyes that were also quite complex, mixed with sympathy and contempt.
Females like Yue have no males willing to mate with them, and her body is too weak—she can't even gather wild vegetables; she's truly a useless waste.
Wu Yue sighed helplessly; she knew her weak-chicken image could not be salvaged.
"Friendly reminder: ten meters ahead to your left front, there is a plant with red leaves; that is the Beast World's hemostatic grass. Host, with your weak-chicken physique, you should staunch the bleeding first."
The mechanical voice sounded again, this time bringing Wu Yue a big surprise.
"System, I've never loved you as much as I do right now, muah!"
After thanking it happily in her heart, she turned and patted Qingcao: "My hand is bleeding; there's hemostatic grass ahead. I'll go pick some to apply, you gather wild vegetables first—I'll be back soon to find you."
Having said that, she smiled at Qingcao, got up, and walked toward the direction the system had indicated.
That hemostatic grass is easy to recognize; its red leaves stand out prominently among clumps of green grass.
Wu Yue crouched, picked two leaves of the hemostatic grass, put them in her mouth to crush, then gently applied them to her fingertips.
Seeing the dark green lump on her fingertip, Wu Yue frowned; this would make gathering impossible.
She reached out again, plucked a red leaf, pulled a long blade of grass, and tied the red leaf wrapped around the medicinal paste.
Looking at her somewhat swollen fingers, Wu Yue spat out her teeth in disgust—so ugly!
Qingcao, while gathering, kept an eye on Yue not far away; seeing her chew up a red-leaved grass and smear it on her finger, her expression changed dramatically.
She quickly came to Yue's side: "Yue, you can't just eat unknown grass, or you'll die."
Qingcao's face was solemn, her gaze toward Yue extremely stern.
Wu Yue was startled; Qingcao's demeanor really resembled a school discipline master from before.
Although her tone was stern, it was full of concern for herself.
Wu Yue smiled, took Qingcao's hand: "Don't worry, Qingcao; A Mu taught me to recognize this before—it's a hemostatic herb, I know it."
She pointed to the particularly distinctive hemostatic grass among the weeds.
Qingcao stared in shock at the pure-human female before her: "Yue, is your A Mu a shaman?"
Wu Yue was bewildered, shaman?
What is that?
She honestly shook her head: "My A Mu isn't a shaman; she just knows a few common herbs."
Although I don't know what a shaman is, seeing Qingcao's demeanor, it seems the shaman holds a very high status in the tribe.
"Can this grass really stop the bleeding?" Qingcao crouched, plucked a stalk, examined it carefully; aside from the red leaves, there was nothing special about it.
