Chapter 524: Exchanging Seasoning

After returning, A Man gave his family's shaman a resentful look; he had reason to suspect the shaman clearly knew his grilled meat tasted bad yet still sent him out just to steal his grilled meat to eat.

Feeling the chilly gaze of his tribe's youngster, the medicine shaman rarely felt embarrassed, giving a dry 'hehe' laugh twice, then once again put on his thick-skinned demeanor to continue probing the affairs of the Huaxia tribe.

Wu Yue answered the medicine shaman's question in an ambiguous way, instead making the people in the cave feel that the Huaxia tribe was becoming even more mysterious.

"Shaman, our grilled meat is done!"

Just then, a black-charcoal-headed person walked in from outside the cave; although the color of the grilled meat in his hand was still somewhat dark, compared to the previous pitch-black, it had improved considerably.

Moreover, thanks to the seasoning's enhancement, it also gave off a fragrant aroma.

The medicine shaman gave the beastman warrior an approving look, then tore off a piece of grilled meat from the large leaf and stuffed it into his mouth; but after just one chew, he slightly furrowed his brow.

"The grilling time is a bit long; if you're worried about it not being cooked through, you can cut the meat into smaller pieces."

Wu Yue also gave a timely evaluation: the meat had become somewhat hard from overcooking.

The beastman warrior sheepishly nodded: "Because we always ended up with undercooked meat before, I thought to lengthen the grilling time."

"That aroma is somehow..."

The medicine shaman furrowed his brows at the clansman before him: "The tasty flavor is not as strong as that grilled by the East Sang brat's companion."

Shaman Sir said he still preferred strong-flavored grilled meat, so the seasoning should be increased.

Upon hearing this, the beastfolk gave a dry laugh twice, then furtively glanced at Wu Yue sitting beside his family's shaman before leaning to the medicine shaman's ear and saying: "A Wa's grilled meat is so delicious because he added a miraculous powder called seasoning."

"Powder!"

The medicine shaman blinked in surprise, then turned to look at Wu Yue: "Is that powder from Wu Yue given to the East Sang tribe?"

Wu Yue smiled and nodded: "It can't really be called a gift; it's an exchange with the East Sang tribe."

Having said that, she took out a palm-sized bamboo tube from her side pocket, poured some powder onto the large leaf, and said: "Please try dipping your grilled meat in this powder."

Upon hearing this, the medicine shaman glanced at Wu Yue, then pressed the grilled meat he had taken a bite of onto that small pile of powder, brought it close to smell, and faintly detected a faintly domineering fragrance.

The instant the powder-coated grilled meat entered his mouth, the seasoning melted on his tongue; the familiar domineering aroma instantly permeated the medicine shaman's entire body and mind, leaving him utterly intoxicated.

"This... this powder called seasoning is truly miraculous."

After closing his eyes to savor it for a moment, the medicine shaman solemnly turned to Wu Yue: "Wu Yue, I hope we can exchange this powder called seasoning; the more the better—salt, beast hides, or any goods are acceptable."

Wu Yue's smile deepened slightly at the corners, yet she shook her head with a troubled expression: "I'm afraid I can't exchange this with you, Medicine Shaman."

The medicine shaman furrowed his brows, wondering: "Could this little female be trying to seize the opportunity to ask for a quota of shaman power infusion?"

The medicine shaman's displeasure made his smile become somewhat unfamiliar.

Wu Yue didn't notice his request, instead giving a wry smile: "The herbs and fruits needed to make this seasoning are hard to find; wanting to exchange large amounts is utterly impossible, and since I've only just arrived at the Yun Wu Shan Mai, I haven't yet gathered all the required herbs."
