Ma Ma Zhaodi did not resist.
To be precise, he had already lost the will to resist.
At the same moment the other party mentioned the black robe and mask in the toilet, a woolen hat was directly placed on his head from behind.
Thus his eyes immediately became empty, his tense muscles instantly relaxed, and he stood completely dazed in place.
"Mr. Sol, you seem a bit careless."
The two Falcone gunmen lowered the guns in their hands; their voices sounded very calm, as if they had been prepared for Ma Ma Zhaodi's actions tonight all along.
At this moment, the voice of the Mad Hatter rang out from the walkie-talkies on their chests.
"Has the Mr. Rabbit who jumped into the hole been caught?"
"Caught, boss."
"Then send him to the stage."
Hearing the Mad Hatter's voice, Ma Ma Zhaodi's body moved like a marionette; at this very moment, his expression was no different from that of the hundreds of civilians under control.
The two opened that large door and led the automatically following Ma Ma Zhaodi inside; he offered no resistance at all, and only when he saw the black robe and mask held in the two's hands did a wave of confused emotion surge in the deepest part of his heart.
What are those things? Why do they feel so familiar? Are that black robe and mask mine? Who am I?
However, the microchip sewn into the hat's seams began operating again at this moment; a few seconds later, the emotions in his heart were suppressed once more.
Beyond the door lay the theater's stage area, where stood actors with makeup applied and wearing costumes; most of them wore hats on their heads, performing the fairy-tale characters of "Alice in Wonderland" on stage.
The Dodo, the Cheshire Cat, the Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts, the Jack of Hearts, and a row of "Alices" on stage were the only characters on stage not wearing hats.
And the Mad Hatter right in the center.
To be precise, a puppet right in the center.
Clearly, the Mad Hatter was not on the stage, or rather, he was not even inside the theater at all.
"Boss, we've reached the stage."
"Excellent, I'll be there shortly—wait for me there for a moment."
The Mad Hatter ended the communication, so the few people waited quietly; during this period, the people on stage continued to repeat their lines over and over, performing their plot, tireless and endless.
In Gotham's night sky, moonlight illuminated the black bat and green kite flying in the air; propelled by the strong wind of the clover, the two finally dragged Clayface and Solomon, along with the two attached steel beams, to the airspace above the industrial park.
"We've arrived; below is the liquid nitrogen factory."
Kite Man looked down; Clayface's muddy tentacles were tightly coiled around Solomon Grundy's cervical spine, while Solomon's hands were still tearing at Clayface's body.
"Not bad, these two are still fighting quite fiercely; I guess they're a bit carried away."
"Only temporarily."
Clayface's mission was to hold off Batman; in his mind, the bat always took priority over Solomon; given just a little time, his reasoning ability would reoccupy the high ground of intelligence.
"What next? Throw them into the factory? Then fly down and use the liquid nitrogen facilities against them?"
"No need for that."
Batman looked at the factory below; the Batcomputer immediately pulled up its internal structural diagram and reproduced it on the cowl; the factory's layout, pipes, and liquid nitrogen storage locations were instantly laid bare before his eyes.
"Kite Man, let go."
"No problem—exactly where to drop them?"
"Just let go; I'll adjust the position."
"Okay."
Kite Man immediately released his hands; the weight in the net bag was truly terrifying; his arms had long been on the verge of giving out. Without that gust of wind, Clayface and Solomon might have already fallen mid-air.
Batman felt the weight in his hands suddenly increase; he spread his cape to its maximum, using all his strength to catch the air, like a bat striving to maintain its flight trajectory—although this posture could only be maintained for a few seconds, it did slightly alter the flight trajectory of the two inside the net bag.
After flying for two seconds, he saw several giant liquid nitrogen storage tanks standing side by side on the ground, shimmering with condensed light under the moonlight.
In the instant after seeing the storage tanks, Batman had finished thinking; he did not let go here, but held on for another three seconds; when the net bag's trajectory coincided with the trajectory given by the Batcomputer, he finally released his hands.
Thus the net bag plummeted toward the factory interior.
According to Batman's earlier plan, he originally intended to throw them directly into the liquid nitrogen storage tanks; although calculations showed this would trigger a massive explosion, the factory was already empty at this time, and Solomon and Clayface themselves could not be killed by such damage—they would only lose the ability to continue fighting; their vitality was too strong.
As for now, this plan could be slightly optimized; he had another, safer method.
At the same moment he let go, he also took another ice-blue mushroom from his tactical belt and threw it toward the two entangled in mid-air.
As the net bag began free-falling from high in the sky, the sensation of full-speed descent finally brought Clayface back to his senses from his rage, but fall damage posed no threat to him; thus he still maintained his viscous body, tightly wrapping Solomon's hands—this height was far greater than his own jump; after Solomon hit the ground, he would likely lose most of his combat ability.
Only at the moment Batman's mushroom left his hand did he realize something was not quite right.
Thus he instantly turned back into a pool of extremely soft mud, sliding out from Solomon's fingertips at full speed, and drilling outward through the Kong Dong in the net bag.
But it was still a bit late.
Click-click-click—
Still the familiar sound, still the familiar freezing sensation.
Clayface cursed Batman fiercely in his heart, but his body was already firmly fixed by the ice; he and Solomon fell downward at high speed together.
Even if he successfully broke free from the ice layer three seconds later, his body remained dull and slow; he exerted all his strength, but that viscous mud clump had become quite hard and solid, making movement extremely difficult, and even transformation was impossible.
At this moment, Solomon, who had also broken free from his restraints, reached his hand toward the mud clump; a grim smile appeared on his face as he tightly gripped the mud clump formed by Clayface in his hand.
"Solomon Grundy, born on Monday!"
Boom!
The two, carrying several tons of weight, finally struck the upper level of the factory building; the terrifying impact of the high-speed fall smashed them through multiple layers of wall panels, finally precisely severing the liquid nitrogen supply pipes, and they landed on the ground.
Nitrogen gas at minus one hundred ninety-plus degrees Celsius gushed out from the pipes, continuously covering the unconscious Solomon and the struggling Clayface.
A dozen seconds later, Batman flew in carrying a bucket of water and poured it onto Clayface's body; today's battle officially ended—Clayface was frozen solid.
If Ma Ma Zhaodi had been on the scene, he would probably have sighed, "Young people have such good bodies; they fall asleep the moment they lie down."
