Chapter 114: I was lying to you

After a quick shower, Li Shanshan's face was still flushed. She said with some reluctance, "Zhao De, why don't we just stay here tonight? We can go straight to work tomorrow."

Zhao De still had to call Ma Lan; he didn't want to ignore that charming young married woman just to have a bit more fun with Li Shanshan. Ma Lan was the only woman he had truly developed feelings for.

"I can't, I have things to do at home!" Zhao De said anxiously, "Next time." The time for the hourly room was almost up, and he was in a rush to get down there; otherwise, he would be charged extra if he went over the time.

Li Shanshan felt a bit disappointed. She pouted, then turned and stomped downstairs. He followed her down and checked out at the front desk.

When they got outside the hotel, it was already pitch black. A cold breeze blew, making both of them shiver at the same time. The feeling was truly wonderful.

Li Shanshan's body felt a bit soft; she was still intoxicated by the ecstasy of their recent passion and hadn't fully returned to reality. Her cheeks were flushed, and her eyes were alluring.

Zhao De lit a cigarette, took a satisfying puff, and said with a contented smile, "Secretary Li, I'm leaving first. See you at the office tomorrow." He hailed a taxi, hopped in, and poked his head out to make a funny face at Li Shanshan.

Li Shanshan was tickled by Zhao De and giggled. Although she seemed a bit cold at the office due to work, she actually quite liked Zhao De. Not to mention that he was tall and handsome, his personality was truly great—witty and humorous. Being with him, she never had to worry about not being able to laugh.

After the taxi drove off, Li Shanshan suddenly stopped smiling. She chased after the car for two steps, shouting, "Zhao De! Zhao De! Wait!"

But the car sped away in a flash. She stopped and bent over to catch her breath, lost in the aftertaste of the pleasure she had experienced with Zhao De. She had forgotten to delete the photos Zhao De had taken on his phone. In fact, she didn't know that Zhao De was just lying to her; he hadn't taken any racy photos of her at all.

After catching her breath, Li Shanshan hailed a taxi and got in. On the way back, she sent Zhao De a message: "Zhao De, delete those photos!"

Zhao De received the message and chuckled to himself, quickly replying: "Secretary Li, actually, you don't know this, but I was lying to you. I didn't take any photos at all, haha."

Based on Li Shanshan's proactive and lingering performance in bed today, Zhao De knew that even without those photos, he would still have plenty of opportunities to take her to a hotel for fun in the future. He decided to just be upfront with her so she wouldn't be anxious all day, fearing he would leak the photos.

Li Shanshan received Zhao De's message and gritted her teeth in anger, thinking to herself, "Zhao De! You just wait and see!"

After her anger subsided, she thought about how Zhao De always made her laugh when they were together, and she suddenly wasn't angry at him anymore. Instead, she felt she wanted to get closer to that guy.

As soon as Zhao De got home, he was so tired he lay on the bed ready to sleep. Suddenly, he remembered that Ma Lan had called him. Fearing that Ma Ting might hear if he called her, he sent a text to Ma Lan: "Sister Lan, I'm done singing. Are you asleep yet?"

Ma Lan replied quickly: "I was just about to sleep. I have to go to the Coal Hotel to bid first thing tomorrow morning. You should get some sleep too, I'm going to sleep now."

Ma Lan had been busy working on the bid for the past few days and hadn't been in touch with Zhao De much. Thinking of Sister Lan's charming and warm smile, Zhao De actually missed her quite a bit.

The next morning, when he arrived at the Coal Bureau, Wang Anguo unexpectedly arrived right at the start of work. Zhao De served him tea and water again. Wang Anguo took a sip of tea, sat for less than five minutes, then walked out of the lounge and said, "Xiao Zhao, I'm going out for a bit. You stay in the office today and watch things, don't run off!"

Zhao De nodded and said, "Leader, don't worry."

Just then, Li Shanshan walked in without knocking and said, "Vice Bureau Chief Wang, Bureau Chief Zhang is already in the car downstairs, waiting for you." She took a glance at Zhao De with the corner of her eye, looking as arrogant as ever.
