Chapter 4643

This day, Zhao Desan had just arrived at the office and hadn't even warmed his seat when he received a call from District Party Secretary Wu Min. On the phone, Sister Wu told him that Serena from the Kaide Group, a company listed in Hong Kong, had already boarded the plane with an expert team and would arrive at Xijing Airport around noon, asking Zhao Desan to accompany her to pick them up. The Chanba District Party Committee and District Government attached great importance to this investment attraction from top to bottom. The Kaide Group was a large-scale comprehensive enterprise group. As long as the first two projects were invested and handled well in the district, they would continue to invest in other projects in the future, which was a major benefit to the district. To welcome Serena's arrival, Wu Min personally led a team to Xijing Airport to pick them up. Also going along were the Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau, Ma Luko, some staff from the Administrative Office and the Secretariat, and Zhao Desan.

A group of people split into several cars and rushed to the airport in a grand manner. They waited at the airport for more than two hours before Serena and her party finally arrived late, appearing at the exit. The leaders of the District Party Committee and District Government, headed by Wu Min, busily and enthusiastically went up to greet them, "Ms. Serena, welcome, welcome to Xijing."

"Secretary Wu, we meet again." Serena smiled and shook hands with Wu Min, then introduced the accompanying staff and experts to Wu Min.

When Zhao Desan saw this woman who had been haunting his dreams again after more than a week, he felt an indescribable excitement in his heart. Looking at her wearing a fashionable V-neck top and chiffon flared pants, her figure looked extremely tall. Coupled with her plump physique, her figure looked even more curvaceous. Those sapphire-like eyes, as she looked around, emitted an extremely charming allure, which made Zhao Desan fascinated. However, fortunately, Zhao Desan had almost always been acting as a translator for the communication between Wu Min and Serena, so his opportunities to contact Serena were relatively many. Sometimes the two would look at each other involuntarily. At the moment their eyes met, the smile at the corner of Serena's mouth and those deep, gem-like eyes would make Zhao Desan feel a sense of being electrocuted. To be honest, Zhao Desan had always considered himself to have seen countless women and had incomparably rich experience in dealing with women, but being with this Serena made him feel at a loss and flustered.

Wu Min looked at the time and said with a smile, "Ms. Serena and everyone have been on the plane for so long, and it must have been an exhausting journey. Let's go eat first!"

Zhao Desan translated this sentence into Cantonese for Serena. Serena nodded with a smile. It was true; coming from Hong Kong to Xijing was indeed a bit tiring. Thus, Wu Min and the leaders of the District Party Committee and District Government who came to pick them up each took responsibility for one guest, enthusiastically invited them into the cars, and drove toward the city.

Zhao Desan was in the same car as Wu Min and Serena. Sitting in the front passenger seat, he would secretly look at Serena in the back seat from the rearview mirror from time to time. Since it was Serena's first time in Xijing, she seemed very interested in everything here. On the way from the airport to the city, she kept turning her head to look out the window, enjoying the autumn scenery on both sides of the airport expressway with great interest.

On the way back from the airport to Xijing city, when they were about to enter the city, they could see a magnificent city wall on the ring expressway. When the ancient Zhuque Gate tower came into Serena's view, she couldn't help but widen her eyes, her expression looking extremely shocked. Then she turned her head and asked Zhao Desan, "District Mayor Zhao, is this the city wall of Xijing?"
