Chapter 701

"A former subordinate of Deputy Secretary-General Hu of the Provincial Committee wants to transfer to the province to work. Secretary-General Hu introduced him to me tonight and insisted on giving me this thing." Su Qing said, removing the packaging. It was a wooden box with English letters printed on it. "A watch." She opened the box and let Zhao De see it.

As soon as this was mentioned, Zhao De remembered Baldy Zheng's hint to him this afternoon, so he slanted his head and said to Su Qing: "By the way, Sister Su, Director Zheng said this afternoon that he wanted to find a time to have a meal with me alone. I think he should also want me to give him that, right?"

Su Qing raised her eyebrows and asked: "Is that so?" After thinking for a moment, she said, "It should be. However, Director Zheng implemented your work, so it's appropriate to express something."

"Then how should I express it?" Zhao De asked her, because he didn't know what that old guy had a hobby for, thinking that giving a gift should at least be something the other party liked.

"Look at you, how would Sister know what your leader likes?" Su Qing smiled and thought for a moment, then picked up the watch she had just received tonight and said: "How about giving him this watch? It just happens to be a men's watch."

Zhao De looked at the watch she was holding and looked a bit troubled. He still felt that giving a watch to someone was too shabby, so he said: "Sister Su, would giving him a watch make him feel I'm too stingy? How about I buy something else?"

"Shabby? Do you know what watch this is?" Su Qing suddenly raised her willow-leaf brows high, widened her eyes, and looked incredulous. "This is Vacheron Constantin. This watch has a market price of almost 300,000. Don't look at it as very ordinary; it's purely handmade."

"300,000? No... no way?" Zhao De said with a look of astonishment. He took the watch out of the box and held it in his palm to study it carefully, feeling that it looked just like that, very ordinary.

"Vacheron Constantin, the cheapest one is tens of thousands." Su Qing raised her eyebrows and said, "Do you think people who ask Sister to do things will give an ordinary watch?" Su Qing felt that Zhao De truly underestimated her power. Although she rarely accepted bribes, after the divorce, she had divided a lot of family property from her ex-husband, plus her high political status, so she didn't lack money at all. If it weren't for Deputy Secretary-General Hu of the Provincial Committee personally coming forward to invite her to dinner tonight, she wouldn't have gone to ordinary people's social engagements. Out of face for the Deputy Secretary-General, she accepted this watch.

"That's true, that's true." Zhao De nodded with a chuckle. Thinking of Su Qing's political status and the power she held, how could people who could ask her to do things and send her gifts through connections use ordinary goods to fool her? So he believed it must be a watch of great value. While studying it carefully, he mocked himself: "I really haven't heard of the brand Vacheron Constantin. I've only heard of Rolex. My knowledge is too shallow, making Sister laugh."

"It's fine. As long as you work hard and your status rises in the future, you will see these things often. You take this watch and give it to Old Zheng tomorrow. He knows goods and definitely won't feel it's shabby." Su Qing seemed to have sensed what Zhao De was thinking just now when she said to give this watch to Baldy Zheng.

"This... this is too valuable. It's better to buy something cheaper. Besides... besides, this watch was given to you by someone else, Sister. How can I be embarrassed to take it and give it to the leader?" Looking at this expensive watch, 300,000, it was like seeing 30 stacks of 100-yuan bills stacked in front of him. How could he bear to give so much money to others?

"Don't feel sorry. Anyway, this wasn't bought with Sister's money. It was really out of face for Deputy Secretary-General Hu that I accepted it. I originally thought about taking it back for you to wear, but after thinking about it, I felt it wasn't appropriate for you to wear such an expensive watch when you just started working. Others will gossip. Since Director Zheng has that intention to let you express something, you can't just buy something for a thousand or eight hundred and give it, right? That would make people feel you don't know how to appreciate favors. Besides, it's very appropriate for Director Zheng's status to wear this watch. Don't hesitate. Just take it and give it to Old Zheng tomorrow." People in Su Qing's political status had seen too many precious things. Giving a Vacheron Constantin to others didn't make her feel sorry at all. As she said this, she covered the box and repacked it, placing it on the table.

Zhao De glanced at the watch box and looked at Su Qing with hesitation: "Really... really want to give it to Director Zheng?"

Su Qing nodded without hesitation and said: "Since he hinted to you today, do you still want to go out and buy something else to give him tomorrow? Don't hesitate anymore. Remember to bring it with you when you go to work tomorrow."

"Then... then alright." Zhao De nodded with difficulty, feeling that taking such a valuable thing given to Sister Su to bribe Baldy Zheng was truly like using a butcher's knife to kill a chicken.

However, Sister Su was right. After all, Baldy Zheng had implemented his work into the Construction Committee. As long as he was willing to use his brain and heart, in the future, let alone this watch, he could earn back the money for ten watches.

"Alright, it's very late. Hurry back to the room. Sister will take a shower and come over, and then we'll sleep." Su Qing returned too late tonight, and after chatting with him for two sentences, she felt sleepy, so she got up from his shoulder, turned around, and went out to the living room, taking off all her clothes and walking toward the bathroom.

Looking at her full figure with plump breasts and perky buttocks, Zhao De smiled slyly at her and said: "Sister Su, are you driving after taking a shower?"

Su Qing looked back and smiled: "It's so late, do you still want to?"

"I don't care. I'm just afraid that if we don't do that, Sister Su won't sleep well." Zhao De chuckled slyly.

Su Qing glanced at him charmingly and said: "Then you go back to the room first. Wait for Sister to take a shower and come over, and then we'll talk." As she said this, she walked into the bathroom.
