Chapter 724

Lan Mei was somewhat surprised that Zheng Ru came to find her today, but thinking of her attitude yesterday, she glanced at her and asked unpleasantly, "What is it?"

"Division Chief Lan, I came to... apologize to you." Zheng Ru walked in, lowered her head slightly, and her tone was much more sincere.

"Do you still want to work in the Planning Division?" Upon hearing the purpose of her visit, Lan Mei asked her in a condescending tone, clearly feeling she had the upper hand.

"Yes." Although she was still a bit afraid in her heart, she put aside her pride and nodded.

"Alright, go back to work. In the future, I will try not to arrange work that is too difficult for you. My original intention was to test your work ability, not to intentionally make things difficult for you." Seeing that Zheng Ru's attitude was quite sincere—a completely different person from the girl who had directly confronted her yesterday—Lan Mei's tone softened significantly, though her expression remained indifferent.

"Then, Division Chief Lan, I'll go back to work." Seeing that Lan Mei had already forgiven her, and since she had come to apologize with a long face anyway, she didn't say anything else, turned around, and went back.

After returning to the office, Zhao De asked her anxiously if Division Chief Lan seemed any different. Zheng Ru, having been forgiven for her mistake by Division Chief Lan, felt the stone in her heart drop and said with a relieved expression, "I didn't see anything unusual. She still has that look like someone owes her money, but her tone today was actually quite polite to me."
