Chapter 28

"Ready! Go!"

Beep!

Amidst the shrill whistle,

two figures, one large and one small, surged forward rapidly.

The first event was a one-kilometer weighted run,

with both of them carrying thirty jin of weight on their backs.

Hearing the steady breathing sound coming from half a meter behind him,

Liu Feng felt a slight surprise in his heart.

"He even knows how to adjust his breathing?"

"His stamina is not bad either."

"It seems he really trained specifically..."

Liu Feng gradually felt a hint of competitiveness rise within him,

silently increasing his speed by a few notches,

but he discovered that

that steady breathing sound

was still maintaining a distance of half a meter behind him.

Until the one-kilometer weighted run ended,

he failed to shake off Lu Shu behind him.

"Not bad, kid!"

"You can actually keep up with me?"

During the break to remove the weights,

Liu Feng took the opportunity to raise an eyebrow at Lu Shu.

"Good speed, good endurance too."

Lu Shu tossed the weighted sandbag off his back and smiled calmly,

"Instructor Liu, you don't need to hold back; I can keep up."

"Heh! If you're so capable, don't lose me in the obstacle run!"

As the words fell,

Liu Feng shot forward like an arrow.

This time,

he sprinted with all his might.

He soon arrived before the first obstacle,

a one-meter-high barrier,

leaped straight over it,

then jumped into a water pool over a meter deep.

The resistance of the water flow still didn't slow him down much.

After climbing out of the puddle,

the next part was crossing a single-log bridge.

After the single-log bridge,

came climbing out of a deep pit.

Just as Liu Feng thought he had completely shaken off Lu Shu behind him,

suddenly,

a black shadow flashed past his side.

After accelerating, he leaped high into the air,

then kicked off the rough wall to gain leverage,

hooked one hand lightly on the top edge of the deep pit,

and that figure flipped out of this full five-meter-deep pit as lightly as a feather!

"???"

"This kid..."

"Such powerful explosive strength!"

"Could it be that just now... he wasn't using his full strength either?"

After Liu Feng climbed over the deep pit,

he was startled to see that Lu Shu had already surpassed him and was ahead.

In this one-kilometer obstacle run,

he had absolutely exerted the strength he used during the full company cross-country assessment.

But...

he was still easily surpassed by a university student!

"O-overtook me?"

"Wow! Lu Shu actually overtook the instructor!"

"So fierce, so fierce!"

"What happened in that deep pit just now?"

"Awesome! University students rule!"

The onlooking Beihai University students, after seeing Lu Shu overtake the instructor,

let out wild cheers,

as if they themselves had beaten the instructor!

Meanwhile, the other instructors

each wore expressions of utter disbelief.

They had all personally witnessed Liu Feng's top ranking in the full-company cross-country run,

a result earned through relentless training on the field.

But now a university student had overtaken him?

How could this be...

"I suddenly realize..."

"Didn't that student already have the strength to surpass Liu Ban?"

"He's maintained a distance of about half a meter from the start—was he observing Liu Feng's stamina?"

"Maintaining a distance of about half a meter from the start, perhaps observing Liu Feng's stamina?"

"Then this Lu Shu is incredible!"

The soldiers suddenly realized a fact that filled them all with dread.

Beyond the deep pit,

lay a 15-meter obstacle climb.

In everyone's eyes,

Lu Shu accelerated further,

launched into a sprint,

kicked off the obstacle wall in rapid succession,

then floated effortlessly over it.

Finally, the 20-meter rope climb and descent

took less than five seconds—

Lu Shu had already reached the top,

and without hesitation,

he hooked one foot around the rope.

Then his figure hesitated almost not at all,

He hooked the rope with one foot,
