Chapter 460: The problem of feeding

Lin Zhangqing immediately felt an invisible fluctuation expanding rapidly outward with this second-stage Shock-Spirit Cicada as the center.

It took only a breath to reach Chen Zi Ya, and then he immediately saw Chen Zi Ya's swaying appearance.

Lin Zhangqing was shocked, hurriedly threw the second-stage Shock-Spirit Cicada in his hand back into the spirit beast bracelet, and then rushed over to support Chen Zi Ya.

After three or four breaths, she had almost recovered; without waiting for Lin Zhangqing to ask, she said directly: "This kind of divine soul attack has no precursor; when you hear the sound, you have already been hit!

I felt a sudden loss of consciousness, and almost couldn't control my body and fell down!

This was just one; if it were a group, then I estimate that within a radius of several hundred zhang, it would be a dead zone!"

Lin Zhangqing nodded; he knew this aspect the clearest! After all, when he was in the Purple Bamboo Forest, he saw that there were truly no living creatures inside except for the Shock-Spirit Cicadas! Truly, there wasn't even a single living insect.

Because no creature could withstand this kind of continuous divine soul attack; one Shock-Spirit Cicada might just make a person lose consciousness for a few breaths, which wasn't fatal.

But a group of Shock-Spirit Cicadas could make cultivators or spirit beasts who entered their attack range have their souls fly and scatter!

After confirming that Chen Zi Ya had no problems, Lin Zhangqing said: "Should we test it again? See if the effect is different if we increase the distance! And we also need to test their limit attack distance! That way, we will have a count in our hearts when using them in the future, to avoid any blunders!"

Couldn't help but say: "Isn't this a disciple of the Wuwei Sect! How did he break into our place? He wouldn't be here to find trouble, would he!"

Then she ran to a place one hundred and fifty zhang away from Lin Zhangqing, focusing her attention and staying on guard.

Seeing that she was ready, Lin Zhangqing took a second-stage Shock-Spirit Cicada out of the spirit beast bracelet.

They were all the same; suddenly changing to a new environment and being frightened, they kept calling as soon as they came out.

However, this time, although Chen Zi Ya's body swayed the same way and she was a bit stunned and couldn't control herself.

But after about two breaths, she returned to normal; it seems that the further the distance, the weaker the effect of the Soul-Shocking Technique!

He let Chen Zi Ya retreat to about two hundred zhang, and subsequently, Lin Zhangqing took out the Shock-Spirit Cicada again; this time her body swayed, but it took about one breath of time.

She fully recovered; as for further distances, Lin Zhangqing felt there was no need to test anymore; he already had a count in his heart!

The effective attack distance of a single second-stage Shock-Spirit Cicada was about two hundred zhang; if multiple were superimposed together, the distance should increase, and the effect should also be more powerful!

However, this couldn't be tested for the time being; he summoned Chen Zi Ya back, and she was very interested in the Shock-Spirit Cicadas.

Pulling Lin Zhangqing's hand, she said with a smile: "Green Brother! I want some Shock-Spirit Cicadas; give me some, okay?"

Lin Zhangqing knew it would be like this, and couldn't help but say with a smile: "I do have several hundred Shock-Spirit Cicadas in my spirit beast bracelet! Giving you some is definitely no problem; I originally wanted to give them to you and the family for self-protection.

But the problem is, they are already adult insects; taming them is too difficult! It definitely requires a lot of time to slowly grind!

It's even possible that there will be a situation where they cannot be tamed, let alone contracting them!

If that really happens, we can only wait for them to breed offspring; by then, contracting their insect eggs won't be a problem!" Chen Zi Ya was a bit disappointed; she was thinking about whether she could contract them as soon as possible, so that they would have another trump card in this secret realm!

She didn't expect that even a cultivator like Lin Zhangqing, who had insect-cultivator inheritance, couldn't contract them.

However, in the end, she still couldn't help but ask: "Then can't we forcibly contract them?"

Lin Zhangqing shook his head and explained: "They are soul-attribute spirit insects themselves, and their soul strength is not much worse than a cultivator's, so how can you forcibly contract them?

And the main problem now is not contracting them, but first solving the problem of their feeding.

I have caught them for two or three days now, but I haven't fed them anything suitable; if this continues, they will definitely starve to death!"

Chen Zi Ya hurriedly asked curiously: "Then what do these Shock-Spirit Cicadas mainly eat?"

"They mainly eat the sap of spirit trees and spirit bamboo, or spirit liquid rich in spiritual energy; I found them in a Purple Bamboo Forest!

Many first and second-stage purple bamboos inside were sucked dry and killed by them, so wanting to keep them alive is not an easy thing!

If we rely solely on purchasing spirit liquid from outside, it might be fine for a short time, but over a long period, it's also a huge figure! This is also the reason why insect cultivators are particularly rare in the cultivation world, so you must think it over first!"

Hearing that their food was spirit liquid and tree sap, Chen Zi Ya also had a headache; it was fine to get a small amount of these things.

If they were needed long-term, it wouldn't be an easy thing; one must know that tree sap is almost equivalent to the blood of a spirit plant.

If it is sucked too much, the spirit plant won't be able to survive, so no one is willing to waste spirit plants.

Therefore, this is a very realistic problem, which is truly very headache-inducing.

At this time, Chen Zi Ya saw that Lin Zhangqing didn't seem too anxious either.

She suddenly realized that he might already have a solution, so she couldn't help but ask: "Green Brother! Seeing that you aren't anxious at all, do you already have a way to solve it! Say it quickly, don't keep me in suspense there!"

Lin Zhangqing laughed upon hearing this; Chen Zi Ya was still quite smart, guessing that he already had a solution all at once.

Thus, he didn't keep her in suspense anymore and said directly: "I think we can return to the place where we discovered these Shock-Spirit Cicadas.

Using the ready-made Purple Bamboo Forest, we can temporarily solve the problem of their feeding.

Then I still have some spirit plant bags, which are specifically used for transplanting relatively large spirit herbs or spirit plants; we can directly dig up some mature purple bamboo clusters and take them back.

Each spirit plant bag can probably hold a dozen or so purple bamboo clusters, which shouldn't be a problem! By then, these purple bamboo clusters will be planted around your residence, which will solve the food problem for the Shock-Spirit Cicadas.

And it can also provide them with a place to inhabit, so they can protect you in passing."
