Chapter 618: Fishing in Troubled Waters

Lin Zhangqing heard this, and his heart stirred; if there were really so many people, that would be a very good opportunity for him!

As for what they said about helping each other and huddling together for warmth, it wasn't very suitable for him!

After all, he had three Thunder Extreme Fruits in his hand, and as long as he could get out alive, he could join the Tianshui Sect.

And the number of people here who could eventually join the Tianshui Sect was estimated to be at most just a few, and perhaps, besides him, it was very likely that there wouldn't be a single one! Thus, he asked again: "Since so many fellow Daoists are participating, there is a great possibility of success!

Then I would like to ask, if we really pick the Thunder Extreme Fruit, how will it be distributed?"

That person didn't answer immediately, but after pondering for a while, he spoke: "That must be, whoever picks it, it belongs to them!

Do you really think that if you pick the Thunder Extreme Fruit, you would be willing to take it out? I don't think that's possible, right?"

Hearing this, Lin Zhangqing actually agreed very much.

But he knew that if it were really like this, then when the Thunder Extreme Fruit was picked, it would be the time for infighting, and it might even cause a great free-for-all! So after considering it, he still overturned the decision to join them and act according to circumstances! Thus, he shook his head and said: "Then it seems that we might have to deal with the Three-Eyed Thunder Apes in the early stage, and deal with former companions in the later stage! I don't think I have the ability to do that, so I won't wade into this muddy water; sorry, you three!"

After finishing, without waiting for the three to try to keep him again, he turned and left very decisively! In fact, at this time, Lin Zhangqing had already secretly prepared for them to turn hostile and make a move, but fortunately, the situation he anticipated didn't happen! However, after flying out twenty or thirty li, he landed in the woods.

Then he put on the light gauze treasure and quietly touched back towards the location where the three people were just now.

He found them again very smoothly; the three of them were hiding in a formation, and Lin Zhangqing was not far away, staring at them!

This wait lasted for several hours, until evening, when the three of them left the formation! Then they headed towards the foot of Jilei Mountain, and Lin Zhangqing followed them; two quarters of an hour later, they arrived at a small valley.

And the entire valley was shrouded in a formation; after they performed a spell, they went inside!

Lin Zhangqing understood that the hundreds of cultivators they mentioned were probably inside! However, he didn't have the ability to enter the valley without alerting anyone, so he just watched from outside the formation!

He firmly remembered this place in his heart; it might be useful in the future! Then he turned and left, starting to touch up towards Jilei Mountain; he had already done this once, so he was quite familiar with it! The first half was fine; what he saw were all second-stage Three-Eyed Thunder Apes, and although the number wasn't as large as before, he felt there were still fewer! It seemed that during this recent period, the cultivators at the foot of the mountain had also caused not small losses to the Three-Eyed Thunder Ape clan!

However, this didn't have much impact on him, and after spending a little time, he touched past this section smoothly.

By the time the sky was completely dark, he had already touched the lightning-striking area, but once he reached here, there was a problem!

Once he reached here, he didn't dare to use his spiritual sense randomly, for fear of alerting the third-stage Thunder Apes; Lin Zhangqing observed directly with his eyes!

But what he saw was that every few li, there was a third-stage Thunder Ape patrolling; with their ability to see through the light gauze treasure, if he were to get any closer, he would very likely be discovered by them, and by then, he estimated he would face the siege of over a dozen third-stage Thunder Apes! Even if it were him, there was a great possibility that he would fall here directly! So Lin Zhangqing really didn't dare to move forward anymore; instead, for the sake of safety, he retreated to the first half of the area where the woods grew! These Three-Eyed Thunder Apes must have learned from the experience of losing the Thunder Extreme Fruit last time and specifically dispatched third-stage Thunder Apes to come out and strictly guard against it.

To prevent anyone from secretly taking the Thunder Extreme Fruit away again!

Lin Zhangqing didn't expect that what he did last time would also trap himself! He was really a bit speechless! However, in the current situation, continuing forward was definitely not a wise approach, so he simply turned and left Jilei Mountain.

He found a suitable hiding place near the small valley from before, where he could observe the periphery of the valley.

After setting up the second-stage defensive formation and activating it, he stayed inside; his plan now was very simple, which was to prepare to fish in troubled waters!

He wanted to use the hundreds of cultivators in the valley; when they started to make a move and attracted the attention of most of the Three-Eyed Thunder Apes,

Lin Zhangqing would then take the opportunity to sneak in and take all the Thunder Extreme Fruits away! After making up his mind, he waited patiently!

This wait lasted another seven or eight days; to be honest, if he hadn't seen people being brought into this small valley every day,

Lin Zhangqing would have almost lost his patience, but during this period, the manpower below had increased again, estimated to be at least three or four hundred people! But he was still quite anxious, because in two more days, the three-month time limit would be up.

If they didn't make a move again, he estimated there wouldn't be much chance, and soon everyone would be excluded from the secret realm! Fortunately, today, the people in the valley didn't let him down; early in the morning, over four hundred Foundation Establishment cultivators came out of the small valley.

The vast majority of these people were at the late Foundation Establishment stage, and a small number were even at the Foundation Establishment Great Perfection; anyway, one could tell at a glance that they were all truly formidable cultivators.

After all, in such a dangerous secret realm, being able to survive to the end, their strength definitely wouldn't be bad!

After everyone came out, they all divided into standard five-person hunting squads and then started flying towards Jilei Mountain! Needless to say, Lin Zhangqing was definitely wearing the light gauze treasure, hiding and following behind them, and soon arrived at the foot of Jilei Mountain!

They didn't rush up immediately, but started having people come out to find places to set up formations, and after completing it, they sent ten squads up the mountain.

When they encountered the Three-Eyed Thunder Apes, they kept moving around, then bombarded them with spells, and waited until they had attracted enough Thunder Apes.

Then they started running down the mountain; in one go, they attracted over two hundred second-stage Three-Eyed Thunder Apes and very smoothly lured them into the formation at the foot of the mountain.

The result went without saying; although the situation inside was covered by the formation, and not a single sound came out.
