Chapter 691

However, after arriving at the place, Lin Zhangqing frowned! Because the lightning sign marked on the sketch was a small mountain peak, but now it had become the lair of a group of demonic monkeys! And just from what he saw in mid-air now, there were two or three hundred of them, both first-tier and second-tier; third-tier ones were temporarily not seen! This was a kind of demonic beast called the Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkey; there were quite a few second-tier ones, and they were almost as tall as Lin Zhangqing's chest! He had seen their introduction in the sect's Scripture Pavilion and knew they were gold and wood dual-attribute demonic beasts.

However, the fatal thing was that there were no decent spirit materials on them. Besides a pair of golden eyes that had some use, other parts of their bodies were useless!

So very few people specifically went to hunt them, but now Lin Zhangqing was very worried!

He didn't know if these many Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys had already ruined the resources here! However, no matter what, these golden-eyed monkeys had to be driven away or killed. Fortunately, Lin Zhangqing didn't have few spirit insects and spirit pets in his hands.

So with a thought, the Purple Crystal Scorpions and the second-tier Shocking Spirit Cicadas all came out and dived straight toward that small mountain peak.

As soon as he moved, the entire monkey group below immediately boiled over. Actually, their eyesight was superior, and they had long seen Lin Zhangqing four or five li away.

Now that Lin Zhangqing was taking action against them, these monkeys reacted immediately, so they screamed one after another, notifying their companions to come out to meet the battle.

So all of a sudden, more than a hundred Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys popped out from somewhere, and all the first-tier demonic monkeys gathered into a cave.

Those left outside were all second-tier Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys; they were still holding wooden sticks and stones in their hands.

And they rushed to the trees one after another, making provocative actions toward the direction where Lin Zhangqing was, and issuing roaring and frightening cries.

Lin Zhangqing hadn't expected them to be quite smart, and he was amused by these monkeys' provocative actions! However, the Purple Crystal Scorpions were the fastest, and by this time, they had already arrived there. For a time, purple light rays flew everywhere.

Afterward, it was a series of earth-shattering miserable cries from the monkeys that were constantly hit.

Then it was their counterattack; these wood and gold attribute spells flew everywhere, but unfortunately, very few could hit the target.

Mainly because the volume of the Purple Crystal Scorpions was too small, and their speed was also very fast, making it difficult to be hit directly.

And this time Lin Zhangqing didn't control them, letting them play freely.

So there was no situation where four or five Purple Crystal Scorpions attacked one target.

But now the Purple Crystal Scorpions were already at the mid-second tier; as long as they were hit directly by the purple light rays, they basically lost their combat ability.

So actually, the battle ended very quickly. After just a few rounds of attacks, there were no Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys left standing on the small mountain peak.

Besides a portion that saw the situation was bad and retreated directly into that cave, the other two hundred-plus were all left here!

And at this time, the Shocking Spirit Cicadas had just flown there. Lin Zhangqing considered for a while and didn't let them attack casually! Otherwise, if so many Shocking Spirit Cicadas chirped together, these monkeys lying on the ground would definitely all lose their lives!

Lin Zhangqing didn't want to spend time dealing with these monkeys that didn't have many harvests, so he was too lazy to kill them! Taking advantage of this opportunity, he released Mao Qiu and let it help find the location of the spirit objects nearby.

Unexpectedly, Mao Qiu went out for a stroll and finally entered that cave.

Lin Zhangqing was afraid it would be in danger, so he hurriedly summoned it back through the contract. Since it was like this, there was no other way. Originally he had thought about not provoking the remaining Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys!

Now he could only continue to fight his way in. This time the Purple Crystal Scorpions were still leading the charge, while the Shocking Spirit Cicadas were left behind to watch over the Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys on the ground.

Lest they recover and give Lin Zhangqing a pincer attack! Fortunately, this was just a small mountain peak, so this cave wasn't actually too deep; after entering seven or eight li or so, it had already reached the bottom!

Lin Zhangqing walked in all the way and could see many Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys lying on the ground.

Besides a very few unlucky ones that had already died, most were just in pain and fainted! Seven or eight li of distance, and he arrived in a while! Unexpectedly, in the end, the Purple Crystal Scorpions were blocked in front of a stone door; it was obvious that the remaining Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys were definitely hiding inside this cave abode. And after seeing the stone door, Lin Zhangqing was overjoyed; he knew he had found the right place! But at this time, it was a bit tricky. Now the situation was very obvious; the Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys had already been driven to a dead end.

Now they must be inside, preparing to attack the enemies breaking in.

So it was very likely that when Lin Zhangqing pushed the door open, he would have to endure hundreds of attacks.

However, there was no other way; he didn't have spirit beasts specifically for storming strongholds in his hands, so no matter what, Lin Zhangqing still had to go himself.

So after considering it, he activated the defensive ancient treasure, the Black Water Sky-Defending Flag, again.

It was seen to disappear in an instant, afterward turning into a layer of transparent light membrane, covering Lin Zhangqing.

Lin Zhangqing didn't know how its defensive power was, but the consumption of chaotic mana was ten times that of using the Thick Earth Shield.

So he didn't dare to waste time and directly exerted his giant strength of tens of thousands of jin as a third-tier body refiner, pushing the giant stone door open all at once! Afterward, sure enough, countless attacks hit Lin Zhangqing's body directly, and even pushed him back several zhang.

Unfortunately, their results were just like this!

With the giant door wide open, the Purple Crystal Scorpions behind Lin Zhangqing swarmed in, followed by purple light flying everywhere and miserable cries constantly intersecting! Before long, there was no movement inside. Lin Zhangqing knew the Purple Crystal Scorpions had already finished everything.

Only then did he walk into the cave abode. He saw a demonic monkey that was a circle larger than ordinary golden-eyed monkeys at the first glance.

Lin Zhangqing guessed inwardly that this should be the monkey king of this monkey group, but unfortunately, it was already dead now.

And all the first-tier Green-Backed Golden-Eyed Monkeys inside had also lost their breath, because now ordinary first-tier demonic beasts couldn't withstand a single strike from the Purple Crystal Scorpions at all.

Therefore, besides a small amount of second-tier demonic beasts, the others had all died! Lin Zhangqing couldn't help but sigh; killing them didn't have any benefits.

So he actually wanted to let them off, but unexpectedly there were still so many casualties! Since it was already like this, after Lin Zhangqing collected the corpse of the monkey king, he didn't bother with them anymore.

Instead, he began to size up the specific situation of this cave abode. He discovered that the layout here was about the same as the previous cave abode!
