Chapter 695: The Fisherman's Profit

After that, he spent every day draped in his light-gauze artifact, observing the second-tier Winged Thunder Snakes.

Lin Zhangqing even secretly took action to capture three second-tier Winged Thunder Snakes, bringing them to a location over a hundred *li* away.

By continuously provoking them into attacking him, he quickly gained an understanding of their habits.

In general, second-tier Winged Thunder Snakes were already capable of unleashing their innate spell, the Kui Water Yin Thunder.

Furthermore, the wings on their bodies allowed them to fly at low altitudes for short durations; their flight range was roughly four to five *li*.

Aside from the decent defensive capabilities of their snake scales, they possessed no other notable traits.

Most importantly, through his observations over this period, Lin Zhangqing discovered that these Winged Thunder Snakes had natural predators.

These were the avian demon beasts: the Black-Feathered Profound Thunder Birds and the Swift Wind Thunder Leopards. In the few days he spent observing, he saw them hunt second-tier Winged Thunder Snakes several times.

They would basically lock onto a target,

unleash a bolt of divine thunder, and then dive down to snatch their prey away!

Although the avian beasts would also be attacked by the third-tier Winged Thunder Snakes,

they were clearly very experienced, and with their superior speed, they were rarely caught.

Truth be told, after observing for this long, Lin Zhangqing confirmed that the only ones who could truly help him were these two types of avian beasts.

But how could he utilize them? Without cause, the two sides wouldn't suddenly engage in a large-scale battle to the death!

Unless there was a deep-seated hatred or a benefit great enough to lure them into a bloody conflict.

Therefore, Lin Zhangqing decided to find a time to first locate their nests, then figure out a way to incite their hatred and fury.

Having observed for several days, Lin Zhangqing knew the Swift Wind Thunder Leopards always flew in from the east.

It took him only two or three days to successfully locate the Swift Wind Thunder Leopard nest on a precipitous cliff.

He stayed there to observe, and even took advantage of the two Swift Wind Thunder Leopards being away to pay a visit to their nest.

Upon seeing three white eggs in the nest, Lin Zhangqing instantly thought of a way to drive the Swift Wind Thunder Leopards into a frenzy.

However, it wasn't the right time yet, so he didn't touch anything, kept everything as it was, covered his tracks, and quickly left the nest.

He then found a suitable spot nearby to hide.

He had already decided that in five days' time, he would find an opportunity to go to the Swift Wind Thunder Leopard nest.

He would smash all three of their eggs and leave behind the corpse of a second-tier Winged Thunder Snake; he believed that upon seeing this, they would surely assume the Winged Thunder Snakes were responsible.

At that point, there was a high probability that the Swift Wind Thunder Leopards would seek revenge against the Winged Thunder Snakes, and his opportunity would arrive!

Although this plan was incredibly crude, he believed that for demon beasts, they shouldn't possess the intelligence to see through it.

Thus, he felt quite confident; he believed his plan had at least a sixty to seventy percent chance of success. However, after careful deliberation, he felt it necessary to modify it: it would be best to leave behind a live Winged Thunder Snake, and he only needed to smash one egg in the nest, while taking the other two to smash near a third-tier Winged Thunder Snake.

This way, even if the Swift Wind Thunder Leopards were skeptical, they would be forced to believe it in the face of ironclad evidence.

A bloody battle would be inevitable, and Lin Zhangqing didn't expect them to hold off all the third-tier Winged Thunder Snakes.

He only needed them to create an opening for him to approach the Thunder Extreme Fruit trees! After refining this plan until he was certain there were no flaws, Lin Zhangqing returned to the lightning-struck giant peak.

Familiar with the terrain, he crept to the mountainside, captured two live second-tier Winged Thunder Snakes, and threw them into his spirit beast bracelet.

He then returned to the vicinity of the Swift Wind Thunder Leopard nest and waited patiently!

Just like that, five days passed in the blink of an eye! Lin Zhangqing waited until both Swift Wind Thunder Leopards had left before immediately sneaking into their nest.

He took all three eggs and threw down the two second-tier Winged Thunder Snakes he had beaten half-to-death.

He also threw one egg onto one of the Winged Thunder Snakes; with his immense strength, the egg shattered instantly, leaving egg white and yolk everywhere.

Having done this, Lin Zhangqing left immediately and sped toward the lightning-struck giant peak with all his might.

Based on his observations over the past few days, the two Swift Wind Thunder Leopards wouldn't be gone for long, at most an hour or two.

Therefore, he had to seize the opportunity to complete the next step, otherwise, all his previous efforts might be in vain! Fortunately, his luck was quite good; by the time he draped himself in the light-gauze artifact and crept to the mountainside, the two Swift Wind Thunder Leopards had not yet returned.

This proved his plan had an even higher chance of success, so he accelerated, sending the two remaining Swift Wind Thunder Leopard eggs to be smashed in the appropriate locations.

Then, he found a hidden spot and waited quietly!

He wasn't disappointed; in less than a quarter of an hour, the cries of eagles echoed from the sky.

The two Swift Wind Thunder Leopards circled the giant peak, and with their keen eyesight, they quickly spotted the two scenes of smashed eggs.

They went completely berserk, unleashing a barrage of Geng Metal Divine Thunder at the nearby third-tier Winged Thunder Snakes.

Under this assault, the dozen or so third-tier Winged Thunder Snakes on the summit immediately retaliated, returning fire with Kui Water Yin Thunder.

The two Swift Wind Thunder Leopards were highly experienced, instantly activating their innate spell, Wind Escape, transforming into two whirlwinds to dance around the dozen third-tier Winged Thunder Snakes.

Lin Zhangqing had no time to concern himself with their battle; he was already creeping toward the location of the Thunder Extreme Fruit trees at the summit! However, the moment he stepped into the lightning-strike zone, bolts of lightning began to strike him; fortunately, he had experienced this once before.

Knowing how to handle it, he made his way forward smoothly, successfully approaching the location of the fruit trees without incident.

Once there, he spared a moment to observe the outcome of the battle.

He discovered that the two Swift Wind Thunder Leopards were indeed formidable, having already killed two third-tier Winged Thunder Snakes.
