Chapter 10: Chapter Nine: The Person in His Heart
Bai Xu saw that this guy had drunk to that state, the car couldn't be driven back, so he opened Gu Die's phone.
He wanted to call the Gu family's driver.
But he saw a phone number labeled "Wife" in the notes on his phone.
"I forgot! I haven't even had a chance to scold you! Getting married is such a big deal, yet you didn't even tell me!" Bai Xu, taking advantage of his drunkenness, dared to pretend to hit his head fiercely, "Are we still brothers or not!"
Without saying another word, he dialed the number.
After all, he was also very curious about what the person Gu Die had noted as "Wife" looked like.
He understands Gu Die best; his playboy nature is just an act.
Actually, his heart has always housed a girl, but it can't be called love; it should be guilt and regret, which has always been a hurdle he couldn't get over.
On the other end, Liuli answered the call.
"Hello, may I ask who you are?"
Bai Xu was shocked; she actually didn't know this was Gu Die's phone number, and yet he had labeled it "Wife" for her!
"Gu Die is at the Bai Se Jiu Ba bar, he's drunk, come pick him up."
"I..." she hadn't finished speaking when the call was hung up.
"How to get there?"
That's also a problem.
"No time to think; if we don't go now, I'm afraid something might happen to him."
She only said something to Lín āyí and then ran out.
After great effort she reached the bar; fortunately, despite being directionally challenged, she didn't get lost without navigation.
A blond-haired boy was supporting the drunk Gu Die, as if waiting for her.
Bai Xu had just been about to complain that she took so long to come, but other women were eyeing Gu Die like tigers.
Vying to send him home.
But seeing her panting from running, he instantly lost his anger.
Gu Die's taste is indeed good; he managed to snag such a beautiful woman.
"Sister-in-law, you've come!" Bai Xu grinned at her.
Is this still the same person who just hung up on her?
"I'm handing him over to you!" Bai Xu said while placing Gu Die's head on her shoulder, feeling happy as if he had lifted a heavy burden.
"Thanks!" she said to Bai Xu.
"You're welcome, I'm his best brother, helping out is only natural!"
"You're his best brother? Yet you just watched him get this drunk and did nothing?"
"What you say is actually true," Bai Xu scratched his head embarrassedly, "but I can't control him either! Don't you know his temper?"
Indeed, he's the kind of person who says one thing and means another.
"From now on, I'll trouble you, sister-in-law, to keep him in check!" Bai Xu laughed; the repeated "sister-in-law" calls were getting on her nerves.
"Who is this person?"
"How did Bai Xu hand over Young Master Gu to her?"
"What are you even? Don't let go of Young Master Gu!" a girl stepped forward and said.
"He's mine; you say who I am?" she said coldly.
Bai Xu, standing aside, was all excited; no wonder he's Young Master Gu's wife, so domineering!
"Sister-in-law, truly domineering!" Bai Xu was so excited he almost wanted to jump and dance.
"Is she Chu Liuli?"
"Chu Liuli of Luo Hai Xue Yuan is her, nothing special."
"So she's actually Chu Liuli?" Bai Xu wondered, no wonder she looks cold.
"Sister-in-law, don't pay attention to these people! Hurry up and take him home!"
"Come help!" she glared at him; she herself couldn't lift such a heavy person into the car, almost getting crushed herself.
"Okay, sister-in-law!" Bai Xu ran over, panting, to help her.
"Sister-in-law, goodbye!"
Bai Xu greeted Liuli, who with a whoosh drove off without even glancing at him!
"No wonder she's Chu Liuli! Or rather, Gu Die is impressive for marrying such an icy goddess!"
Bai Xu wasn't angry with her either; instead, he was quite happy.
"What kind of person is this Chu Liuli, that even Young Master Gu gets spun around by her!"
"Who says it isn't!"
"If I were a man, I'd probably fall for her like that!"
"What's she like! Isn't she just a bit better-looking!"
"You people, just disperse! From now on, don't bother Young Master Gu anymore, they all have wives!" Bai Xu said to the discussing crowd.
Gradually, the people scattered.
Liuli, with great effort, pulled Gu Die out of the car by herself; all the way she kept driving while watching him, afraid he'd fall out.
She had practically dragged him all the way to the door; the guard, seeing that, rushed to help her.
He was easily hoisted onto the guard's back.
"How did he end up like this?" Lín āyí saw Gu Die in that state and felt heartbroken; she had never seen him drink like this.
Although Gu Die has a bad temper, he was raised by her own hands, just like her own son.
"Lín āyí, don't worry, I'll take good care of him." Liuli comforted.
Okay, Young Mistress.
Lín āyí had no choice but to retreat; now that the Young Mistress was taking care of him, she felt relieved too—the Young Master was finally not alone.
She brought a wet towel to wipe his face; after drinking, his face was flushed red, looking rather cute, and she couldn't help but stare.
"This guy is really cute, but he always puts on a fierce front every day." As she spoke, she reached out and touched his eyebrows, "These brows are always furrowed; he looks so handsome when he smiles, yet he never does..."
She continued downward, wanting to touch his lips.
"Chu Liuli, what are you thinking?!" she exclaimed, quickly reacting and slapping the hand that was about to touch his mouth.
His eyes suddenly flew open, he grabbed her in one swift motion and kissed her.
"This guy, even drunk he likes to take advantage of others!" Liuli thought.
His kiss was so light, such a gentle kiss that she really couldn't resist.
Slowly his kisses grew faster, his hand pressed firmly against her head, and he kissed with increasing force.
The smell of alcohol on him grew stronger as well.
She only felt a wave of heat on her face, yet she never pushed him away.
But suddenly the scene of that girl biting his ear flashed in her mind, and she pushed him away in disgust.
He still wanted to kiss her, but she turned her face away, so he buried his head in her chest, quiet as a little cat.
How could she bear to push him away? Her nervous chest rose and fell.
"Chu Liuli, calm down! You couldn't possibly have feelings for such a ruthless playboy, could you?" she thought, desperately trying to stay calm.
To say she felt nothing for him would be a lie! After all, her first kiss had been taken by him, and now she was married to him.
"Si Yun..." she heard him murmuring.
"Gu Die?" she asked.
"Si Yun... Chu Si Yun..." she finally made out that he was calling a person's name.
Her heart suddenly felt as if a stone had sunk in it.
"Chu Si Yun? Who is she?" she thought, then shoved him onto the bed.
But his mouth kept shouting that name nonstop.
As it turned out, this playboy Gu Die also had someone in his heart; someone he could think of even in this drunken state must be very important to him.
She really wanted to know what kind of presence this person was in his heart.
She couldn't understand why hearing him call another's name made her feel so lost.
When she heard the "Chu" syllable, she still hoped he was calling her, but when she heard the full name, she understood.
Both she and the person he called share the Chu surname; among so many people, why did he pick her to marry?
Could it be just because she also bears the Chu surname, or could it be that she resembles that person?
She couldn't help but indulge in wild fantasies—Chu Liuli actually finding herself daydreaming over a man?!
She was also relieved that she hadn't truly fallen for him yet, so she could withdraw those few thoughts she had placed on him.
