Chapter 3: She Is My Wife
A girl with a slender figure, flowing long hair, and white, thin legs walked over.
"Thud—thud—thud—" was the only sound heard, the girl's footsteps in high heels.
"Yì, I know you don't want to marry me, but you can't just casually pick someone and marry them!" The girl walked up to Young Master Gu and stopped.
"Calling so intimately, you must be quite familiar!" Liuli silently watched the show from the side.
"I wasn't being casual; I just want to marry her." He looked her way, evidently having seen her watching-the-show pose, wanting to throw a bomb at her.
Hearing his words, she only felt her scalp go numb.
"Where did you come from, you wild girl? And you still want to marry Yì?" The girl was obviously angered by his words and shouted at her.
How could such an elegant girl become so irritable as soon as she arrived here?
She didn't speak, but the girl grew even angrier.
"Hey! You wild girl! Why aren't you speaking?" The girl swung her hand, intending to slap her.
But she blocked her hand in an instant, then flung it away, the motion clean and decisive.
Meanwhile, he caught the girl who was flung and about to fall.
Her eyes were full of the two words 'speechless'.
This girl had indeed provoked her—who let her call her a wild girl?
"Does what you just said count?" she asked him.
"Of course it counts." Zhōngnián rén answered.
"I'm asking you." She looked at him, her eyes as calm as a vast sea without wind or waves.
"It counts." His tone was colder than hers by an unknown amount.
"What does or doesn't count?" the girl still lying in his arms asked.
Seeing her, she only felt annoyed; two strokes and the name was signed, and he hadn't expected her to be so straightforward.
"Hey! You wild girl! You dare to sign?!"
"What's it matter being a wild girl? Isn't it the same as becoming the future wife of the person you've been longing for?" Liuli teased offhandedly.
His future wife?
"You!" The girl was so angry she couldn't speak, "You think Yì would like someone like you? Dream on!"
"When are we going to get the marriage certificate?" Liuli ignored her, pulling back Young Master Gu's arm that was supporting the girl, and looked up at him.
"Tomorrow."
He too was bewildered—did she really want to marry him? Hadn't she heard any rumors about him?
"Okay, see you tomorrow!" Liuli, while answering, gave the girl a triumphant smile.
The girl wished she could chase after her and scold her severely.
"Feng Wei, stop causing trouble." the man said.
The girl recalled having lost her composure in front of him earlier, and decided to regain her dignity.
This girl was Feng Wei, the Wind Family's miss, pampered since childhood, a veritable princess; she never imagined being driven to helplessness by such a wild girl.
Evidently, Liuli had also guessed that she was his fiancée, Feng Wei.
"Liuli, they haven't given you a hard time, have they?" Cheng Li had been waiting anxiously.
"No way! I'm Chu Liuli—who could do anything to me?" she laughed, though a fleeting sadness flickered in her eyes.
Indeed, she's only twenty, never been in a relationship, and tomorrow she's going to get the marriage certificate with the rumored ruthless Young Master Gu—simply unbelievable.
Just Feng Wei alone, she knew it wouldn't be simple.
In the future, she still didn't know what storms awaited her.
"Have you heard? Young Master Gu's marriage partner has been decided—it's Chu Liuli!"
"Really?"
"Of course it's true! Originally, Grandfather Gu wanted Young Master Gu to marry Feng Wei, but Young Master Gu defied Grandfather Gu's orders and casually married someone just to spite him."
"Looks like it's better not to jump into this pit—who knows, one day you might just disappear!"
Liuli and Cheng Li, having just arrived outside the classroom, heard every word of this.
"Liuli, they're just talking nonsense—don't listen."
"What they say is true."
"What is true?"
"I'm getting married, to him."
Cheng Li listened, his face full of shock.
"Are they threatening you? Tell me..."
"No."
Without waiting for him to finish, she replied.
"Chu Liuli, this is a lifelong matter—don't joke."
"I'm not joking, it's true, I'm doing this willingly."
She didn't look at him, walking straight into the classroom.
The chatter inside ceased abruptly, and everyone stared at her.
By afternoon, Cheng Li hadn't said a word to her.
She took the initiative to talk to him, but he ignored her.
But after school, he still sat in the car waiting for her, just as usual.
As she was about to get in the car, the vehicle behind honked.
She saw the side profile of the boy in the back seat, his brow and eyes revealing an unapproachable aura.
「Young Mistress, please get in the car. 」Zhōngnián rén got out of the car and opened the door for her, which happened to be the other side of the back seat.
「Who is the Young Mistress? 」Cheng Li saw this and immediately got out of the car.
「Cheng Li……」
「Are you forcing her? 」Cheng Li directly questioned the man whose only side profile was visible; if Liuli hadn't stopped him, he probably would have rushed up and fought the man in the car.
「I've said it already, no one is forcing me. »
「I don't believe it! »
「Cheng Li, stop being unreasonable, okay? 」She grabbed his arm.
「Unreasonable? What do you think I am? 」Cheng Li shook off her and walked away.
Yeah, he's done so much for her, silently protecting her, but she says he's being unreasonable.
His heart felt uneasy, and so did hers.
「Young Mistress, please. »
It seems she has no choice but to get in the car.
「Isn't the marriage license supposed to be obtained tomorrow? 」She sat beside him, but it felt as if a mountain lay between them.
「Today I'll first let you get used to it. 」He replied; from his tone she knew it wasn't simple.
「Oh. 」She gave a perfunctory reply.
The mansion before her eyes should be the Gu Family.
「Young Master, Young Mistress, please. 」Zhōngnián rén got out of the car and opened the door.
「Young Master, Young Mistress. 」The two Bǎobāo at the gate bowed.
Upon entering the gate, gardens stretched on both sides.
「This Gu Family is really huge. 」Liuli thought.
Inside the doorway, two Bǎobāo were still on guard.
「Young Master. 」The Bǎobāo bowed.
「This is the Young Mistress. 」Zhōngnián rén said.
「Greetings, Young Mistress! 」The Bǎobāo shouted immediately and opened the door for them.
「Hello! 」She said embarrassedly.
「Kneel. 」A steady middle-aged man's voice came from inside the house.
Gu Die knelt at the doorway; she had just been wondering when he pulled her down to kneel as well.
She looked at him, but he didn't even glance at her.
「How come they're making him kneel before even entering? This old man probably doesn't dote on him either. Chu Liuli, your days might be like this from now on! 」 she thought.
「Uncle Gù, please don't let Brother Die kneel; just let the wild girl he brought back kneel. 」The owner of the voice inside was clearly that girl today.
「Urp——」Hearing her call him Brother Die, she felt a bit nauseous.
The two Bǎobāo saw her expression, and the corners of their mouths couldn't help but turn up.
「Sorry, your lover is a bit mushy, so……」She said this, and even the middle-aged man driving the car laughed out loud.
She scratched her head embarrassedly.
「She's not a wild girl; she's my wife. 」He said without any expression.
Trying to cause trouble? The people inside will probably tear her apart!
「Die! 」The girl rushed to the doorway; when she looked at Liuli, her gaze wasn't just wanting to tear her apart.
I know you're arguing with your uncle, but your uncle is also doing it for you; if you don't want to marry, I won't marry either, don't just go find a wild girl.
I've said it, she's not a wild girl.
Is he speaking up for her?
Everyone present was a bit dazed; it was also the first time they saw the Young Master protecting a woman, and notably, he had gotten into a dispute with Miss Fēng.
「Good! 」The girl heard Gu Die's words, turned her head to look at her, and said, 「Then tell me, do you love him? 」
