Chapter 1000 - 1008: It’s Not an Illusion
"Logistics team, get some ice for Mona Calm to apply and then touch up her makeup," James Chip said, and then he didn’t bother with it anymore.
James Chip had worked with Hibiscus Wood before, and if the first time he hadn’t expected that incident, by the second time, James Chip understood that Hibiscus Wood did it on purpose.
Witnessing acting being used to mess with someone wasn’t new to James Chip, but it was the first time he saw it from Hibiscus Wood.
Hibiscus Wood’s temperament was usually colder, but she had never bullied anyone in the crew before.
In the crew, Hibiscus Wood was slightly warmer to those with higher popularity than hers, but she didn’t bother much with those less popular. However, she had never bullied anyone, not even the extras.
James Chip was puzzled as to how Mona Calm could have offended such a cold-natured person as Hibiscus Wood.
However, as long as it didn’t affect the filming work, James Chip wouldn’t interfere.
Jane Sampson returned to her spot and had just sat down when Coco Edwards came over with a kettle. Jane Sampson sniffed and winced, "Why is it chrysanthemum tea again?"
"Oh, didn’t you notice? Today we’ve switched to Chrysanthemum grandiflorum," Coco Edwards said.
"..." Jane Sampson voiced, "And what was it yesterday?"
"Tribute chrysanthemum," Coco Edwards crisply replied.
So, what’s the difference between Chrysanthemum grandiflorum and Tribute chrysanthemum? Jane Sampson’s inner self was roaring.
They’re all chrysanthemums!
"Stop looking. If it’s not boiled water, it’s chrysanthemum tea. These few days, you can only have these. You like boiled water even less," Coco Edwards said. "Your man said he’s going to keep an eye on you for a few more days. In a few days, you can maybe have cold drinks once every three to five days, but if the temperature drops any further, don’t even think about it."
"You’re my assistant, not King Black’s," Jane Sampson said, taking a big sip of tea and sighed, "You’re a body in Carpenter’s Camp, but your heart’s with the Han."
"Say whatever you want," Coco Edwards shrugged.
"I’m going to talk to Sister Tin about docking your bonus, hmph!" Jane Sampson grimaced with a bit of smugness.
"Oh, Sister Bell said yesterday that my bonus this month is doubled," Coco Edwards boasted, even prouder than Jane Sampson. "Sister Bell also said the more strictly I watch you, the higher my end-of-year bonus will be."
"Life is bleak and dark, there’s no justice," Jane Sampson put the cup lid back on the table and, seeing no one around, turned to whisper to Coco Edwards, "Did you see just now when Hibiscus Wood hit Mona Calm? I always feel like Hibiscus Wood was a bit intentional. Tell me, is my feeling wrong? How on earth did Mona Calm offend Hibiscus Wood?"
"I thought I was the only one with that illusion," Coco Edwards nodded and then whispered towards Mona Calm, who was being helped by a young logistics girl to apply ice to her face, "She looks a bit pitiful."
But that was all Coco Edwards said before dropping the subject.
Later, when Mona Calm had no more scenes, Hibiscus Wood did a few retakes before it was Jane Sampson and Thomas Forest’s turn to film.
It wasn’t until noon when Jane Sampson finished her scenes and returned to her spot. She pulled out a piece of wild fruit and started crunching on it in front of Coco Edwards, also handing one to her.
"Eat less, lunch is in half an hour," Coco Edwards warned Jane Sampson, before taking the fruit and biting into it.
