Chapter 1067 - 1075: Extra Edition! Extra Edition!

So, that was the reason Jane Sampson had been eating candy.

James Black hadn’t felt any particular emotion over it either; after all, Jane was an adult and wasn’t going to hurt herself by eating one extra piece of candy, so he had no intention of scolding her.

However, seeing the eager way Jane was explaining, he guessed she might have misunderstood something.

"Such a small thing doesn’t need to be explained," James said. "It’s not like I’m going to give you the cold shoulder over a piece of candy."

"True," Jane quickly put her mobile phone away and nodded in agreement.

"But don’t think you can push your luck and keep snacking just because I said that," James could tell Jane had some ulterior motive with her response. Didn’t she?

"Of course not!" Jane, feeling guilty, shook James’s arm, "Would I do that?"

"You would," James replied succinctly.

... Jane knew the conversation was over for the day.

Jane let go of James’s arm and hummed softly as she walked ahead.

James looked at his now empty arm, stepped forward, pulled her back, and then firmly took Jane’s hand, mysteriously advising, "Don’t wander off, be careful not to get lost."

He quickly added, "I was just thinking about something," which was supposed to explain his silence up until then.

Jane laughed out loud at that remark.

Get lost in this area of the guardian team’s dorm? Was he serious?

This time on a Saturday night, the dormitory area was quite lively with people coming and going. Someone spotted Jane and James walking hand in hand from a distance and sprinted over, heedless of James’s scowling face, and heartily greeted Jane, "Sister-in-law, good evening! Sister-in-law, how are you today?"

Jane was amused by the peculiar greeting and laughed heartily, "Good, good evening, good today as well."

The squad member chuckled, scratched his head, glanced at the clearly displeased Chief next to him, and ran off.

Once out of sight of James and Jane, the squad member quickly took out his mobile phone and opened WhatsApp.

"Extra, extra, sister-in-law is really here at the guardian team! I just saw the Chief and sister-in-law in the dormitory area!"

"The Chief and sister-in-law walking hand in hand, I went over to greet sister-in-law, oh my god, the Chief’s face changed so fast, it’s like he had ’can’t you see I’m annoyed’ written all over his face, but sister-in-law was as cute as ever."

As the squad member had sent a voice message, it took the others in the group a few seconds to react.

But it was just a few seconds.

Immediately after, the whole group exploded.

Team Member A: I told you I thought I saw the Chief with sister-in-law at the shooting range this afternoon, but you guys wouldn’t believe me!

Team Member B: Didn’t I say last night when I was on duty I saw Peter Gingery bringing sister-in-law into the compound?

Team Member A: Right! You idiot, you never mentioned it! This afternoon I told these dolts that sister-in-law was here at the guardian team today, and these fools, none of them believed me, even said my eyes had been shelled.

Team Member C: My focus is on this – were the Chief and sister-in-law really holding hands? Like, actually holding hands?

Team Member D: I’d love to see the Chief’s disgusted face, I want to ’accidentally’ bump into sister-in-law and say hello, anyone want to join me in an ’accident’ where we can say hi to sister-in-law?
