Chapter 1073 - 1081: Not Giving It to You

The packaging of the clothes was not overly complicated, containing two exquisite boxes inside. James Black took both boxes out of the paper bag in one go and laid them flat on the bed, one in each hand, and then directly flipped open the lids.

He took a closer look.

Hmm...

One thing was black and felt like...

A leather jacket?

And the other appeared to be light blue denim—could it be a denim jacket?

James Black turned to Jane Sampson, "Was it difficult to buy?"

James Black couldn’t tell which brands the two pieces of clothing were, so he didn’t know what made them so special that Jane would find buying them a struggle and hesitate to give them away.

"Quite hard to find." Jane nodded, picking up the clothes to show James. "This black one is a jacket. You figured out it’s a leather jacket, right? I had this styled exactly after the most fashionable, popular design from seventeen or eighteen years ago in Hong Kong."

After showing the black leather jacket, Jane picked up the other item and gave it a light shake to fully reveal it.

James Black then realized that what he initially thought was a denim jacket was actually a pair of jeans.

Jane stood on the bed, holding the pants in front of her waist to show James, saying, "These are also the most popular flared pants from that era, restored exactly as they were. You can’t find pants like these anywhere on the market now, aren’t they incredibly stylish? The flares on these trouser legs are probably longer than your feet. Taking a step in these would really turn heads."

After the display, Jane carefully put the clothes back, then hopped down from the bed and wrapped her arms around James Black’s waist, her face gently rubbing against his chest as she spoke in a coquettish voice, "James, will you try them on for me, please?"

And James?

Since Jane shook out the jeans, his expression had been indescribably stiff.

So, even though Jane was cooing and the birthday gifts were bought with great effort by Jane, James swiftly said one word.

"No."

After saying that, as if feeling his refusal was not emphatic enough, James added, "Don’t even think about it."

He had always thought gentleman’s flared pants were ugly since he was young.

If she wanted to see him in a leather jacket, he might reluctantly wear it for her.

But as for flared pants, that was out of the question.

"Oh come on!" Jane stamped her foot, "Look how much effort I put into preparing these gifts for you, and you’re not even appreciative."

"Jane Sampson, I think you’re misunderstanding the situation." James sat on the bed and didn’t plan on moving, "Today is my birthday, you’re supposed to be making me happy, not the other way around."

So, trying them on for her was out of the question.

So, his initial gut feeling was right.

Even on his birthday, it seemed she wouldn’t be pleased unless she annoyed him.

Jane, undeterred, continued to fix her gaze on James, who then got up, appearing to head toward the bathroom. Jane hurriedly exclaimed, "Wear the first gift, or there will be no second gift for you! I won’t give it to you! The one I was planning to give you, I won’t give you either!"

James paused and slowly turned around.

There were more gifts?
