Chapter 1091 - 1099: Making His Heart Ache

~4 min read 687 words

Jane Sampson emerged from the bathroom to find James Black had already ordered breakfast to their room.

The hotel was bustling, so naturally, the two of them couldn’t really consider going down to the self-service restaurant on the first floor.

Taking the chopsticks passed to her by James, Jane flicked her wet hair away from her forehead and asked casually, "What about Coco’s breakfast? Did you order for her too?"

"Ordered, it’s been sent directly to her room," James replied, "Send me a message before you wrap up shooting today. If you don’t have time, having Coco give me a call is fine as well."

Jane nodded, bit into a bun, and agreed.

After breakfast, Jane and Coco Edwards left the hotel for the film and TV town.

It could be said that this whole weekend was probably the most exhilarating one that Jane had experienced since she started filming here.

Or perhaps it was a weekend filled with both pain and pleasure.

Because the leading actors were rushing to finish their script before heading to Cloud Province, they spent almost the entire weekend filming late into the night.

If it was early, they would be back at the hotel by eleven or twelve o’clock.

If it was late, they might even return at two or three in the early morning.

Jane didn’t know how others managed, but with James waiting for her at the hotel, every day he would have her bath ready as soon as she returned, allowing her to immediately remove her makeup and soak in the tub.

After the bath, James would have a late-night snack waiting for her to eat.

Once the snack was done, she could act coquettish in James Black’s arms for a while, then enjoy his massages to relax her muscles and bones.

Although busy, her time spent with James wasn’t that much, but because of his presence, Jane felt more at ease when she returned to the hotel than the others did.

And to take care of Jane, James Black, who originally planned to return to the guard team on Sunday night, ended up waiting until early Monday morning. However, he got up before the sky even lightened.

As Jane watched James lightly get up, she too sat up in bed.

"It’s still early, you continue to sleep, I’ll head back to the guard team first," James glanced at Jane, walked over, and tucked her back into the quilt, "The weather’s cooled down recently, make sure you wear a coat when you head out in the morning."

"Mhm," Jane mumbled, nodding her head.

He had only been with her for a few days, and it felt like she was suddenly a bit unused to the feeling of him not being by her side.

"Take good care of yourself in Cloud Province, call me if there’s anything, and if you’re free, give me a call too," James instructed Jane and, after dressing up, he then went to the bathroom to wash.

Jane lay there, staring at the ceiling with her eyes open, silent for a few seconds before following him in.

James was brushing his teeth with his back to her, she walked over, and directly embraced him from behind.

"Can’t bear to see me go?" James rinsed his mouth, looking down and teasing her in a joking tone.

Normally, Jane would have stubbornly retorted with a "Certainly not," then proudly walked away.

But not at this moment.

Perhaps because she was still drowsy, her whole demeanor was languid.

Hearing his words, she unexpectedly hummed in agreement.

Admitted it.

That soft hum suddenly made James Black’s heart soften.

James put the cup and toothbrush back in their places, turned around, and pulled the person behind him into his arms, "It won’t be long before we see each other again. After you finish shooting in Cloud Province, aren’t you moving over to King Town? Coincidentally, I’ll be in King Town during those days for an important meeting. Then, I’ll come to your film crew to see you."

The unpredictability of Jane vexed him.

The openness of Jane broke his heart.
