Chapter 1123 - 1131: Watch What I Do

~4 min read 631 words

Coco Edwards learned from the security guard that these people had hidden quite a few hoes and other tools halfway here, seemingly prepared to confront both the hotel and the film crew.

The film crew had many people, but they were not more numerous than the villagers here.

Moreover, the villagers here were accustomed to hard work; when the crew faced these villagers, even two against one might not guarantee a win. They had even dared block the roads to prevent police from entering, clearly indicating that the villagers had other plans.

Therefore, Coco Edwards was genuinely afraid that a direct confrontation might ensue before the police arrived, truly leading to an uncontrollable situation. She feared nothing else but that actors like Jane Sampson could get hurt.

Well, or rather, Coco Edwards feared nothing but Jane getting hurt.

"I understand," James Black responded, "I’ll arrange for someone to head over immediately."

With that, James Black did not waste any more time and quickly hung up the phone.

Only after notifying James Black did Coco Edwards feel relieved; she put away her phone and then saw Jane staring at her intently.

"Why are you looking at me?" Coco Edwards returned Jane’s gaze, "It’s only right to report to your significant other too. Otherwise, if anything happened and you lost even a strand of hair, your significant other would tear me apart. I just got a raise, and I don’t plan to switch jobs."

Jane laughed softly, her eyes curving into crescent moons.

"Don’t smile at me like that~" Coco Edwards covered her face, "Don’t want to see, don’t want to see, even your smile reeks of dog food."

"It’s not as exaggerated as you say," Jane finally stopped laughing.

"It is that exaggerated. Alright, I know you’re extremely tired. Lie down in the back and rest a bit. I’ll drive to find a quiet and safe place for you to sleep well. I’ll keep watch," said Coco Edwards and then started the car, driving away from the hotel.

During the day, Jane had been filming while Coco Edwards sneakily caught some sleep, so staying awake all night wasn’t going to be too hard for her. At most, she would wait for daybreak, and once things calmed down and Jane started filming again, she could find a place to catch up on some sleep. Jane was not delicate; she didn’t need someone to watch over her every second of the day.

Coco Edwards drove until they were a good four or five hundred meters away from the hotel before stopping. The noise from the hotel couldn’t reach them here, but she could still keep the hotel within her line of sight. Should any turmoil break out there, she would immediately be able to drive away from the area.

Jane indeed had a carefree heart but was indeed exhausted from the day. Coco Edwards provided her with a blanket, rolled down the car windows for some air, and spritzed some dew spray. Within a mere moment, Jane was snoring softly in the car.

Since the space inside the car was small and lying in the rear seat wasn’t exactly comfortable, Jane’s sleeping position wasn’t ideal, so she started snoring lightly in her sleep.

Coco Edwards, keeping watch, found it amusing and took out her mobile phone to record a video of Jane sleeping soundly, with her snoring clearly audible in the video.

Looking at the video, Coco Edwards immediately opened WhatsAPP and sent it to James Black.

In the guard team, even after the call, James Black’s heart was still heavy.

He had called an old teammate in Cloud Province, inquiring about the people from that village town. His old teammate’s response was that the people from that village town were tough and fierce.
