Chapter 1130 - 1138: Slight Concussion

~4 min read 663 words

"How are James Chip and the others?" Jane Sampson asked in a panic upon hearing that someone had died.

"James Chip is not in bad shape, but two people from the film crew are seriously injured. When our colleagues from the hospital arrived, the hoe was still stuck in the victims’ bodies," the doctor sighed and shook his head, "The people causing the trouble here are really too vicious."

After saying that, the doctor urged Jane Sampson to get in the car and return to the hospital with him for an examination.

Father Carter looked on, then turned his head and gave a few instructions to another person inside the car before getting into the ambulance himself.

Somehow, Father Carter was worried that Jane, a young girl, would be frightened alone in the hospital, so he thought he’d go and check on her, then he could return later after confirming Jane’s condition.

Since there were many injured, including the trouble-making farmers and the film crew, one city hospital simply could not accommodate everyone. So, the trouble-makers and the crew were split up and sent to two different hospitals for treatment to avoid further conflicts if they encountered each other at the hospital.

When Jane Sampson and Coco Edwards arrived at the hospital, James Chip and his team were there too. James Chip had minor injuries, received some medication, and was bandaged up with no serious issues.

However, one of James Chip’s assistants was severely injured and was in the surgery room. James Chip was waiting outside the surgery room, overcome with guilt. Only when he heard that Jane Sampson and her assistant had also been brought in did he leave the area outside the surgery room to quickly check on Jane’s condition.

Back at the hotel, when the trouble started, James Chip had already informed the actors not to return to the hotel and to stay at the shooting location for safety. However, hearing that there was also trouble there and that some actors had been injured, he was truly anxious upon hearing that Jane had also been brought in.

Jane was James Black’s wife, the darling of a big investor. If anything serious happened to her, James Chip would never be able to make up for it in a lifetime.

"Doctor, how is Jane Sampson?" James Chip urgently asked, grabbing hold of the doctor.

"She’s not too bad off, just a mild concussion. She needs to be hospitalized for observation for forty-eight hours. If there are no further symptoms afterward, she can be discharged. But the girl who came with her has sustained more severe injuries—both legs are fractured, and she even has a broken rib. Fortunately, she was brought to the hospital early. If it had been half an hour later, who knows what could have happened," the doctor said, unable to help but heave a sigh, "Those bandit-like people, to lay their hands on such young girls. Don’t they have sisters or daughters at home?"

James Chip had no mood to continue listening and immediately pulled the nurse with him to Jane’s ward.

Along the way, James Chip was secretly relieved that the injuries were not particularly severe and that Coco Edwards was not in mortal danger. Otherwise, his burden of guilt would weigh even heavier.

Because of Father Carter’s intervention, Jane was placed in a single special ward. Although James Chip was a bit puzzled when he entered, he asked no questions after seeing Jane.

"How are you feeling?" James Chip walked up to Jane’s side, "This time, as a director, I failed to control my temper, and as a result, the entire film crew suffered with me."

James Chip began to reflect on his own actions after the incident, and when James Black scolded him over the phone, Chip couldn’t find a single word to argue back.

As a leader, he had set a poor example and failed to guide his team properly, no different than a failure.
