Chapter 1151 - 1159: Came Twice

~4 min read 640 words

Jane Sampson turned her head to look at James Black, pouted her lips, and uttered an "oh" before changing from denim shorts to same-colored denim long pants.

"Even in the afternoon, King Town’s weather isn’t hot enough for you to wear such a tiny piece of crap."

"A tiny piece of crap?" Jane Sampson rolled her eyes at James Black, "You need to respect each one of my clothes."

"That’s difficult." James Black sneered.

Two words, and Jane Sampson felt a pain in her heart.

Humph!

Forget it, she wouldn’t stoop to daddy Black’s level!

After changing into a sweatshirt and jeans, Jane Sampson picked out a khaki solid colored trench coat, switched to white flat shoes, and put on a white baseball cap, transforming into a little model straight out of a magazine.

When Jane Sampson was in front of the mirror applying skincare products, James Black couldn’t help but take a few extra glances.

Leaving the hotel, James Black took Jane Sampson in a taxi, expertly directing the taxi driver.

As Jane Sampson, holding James Black’s phone, was contacting Coco Edwards, she turned to look at James Black and asked, "You’ve been to King Town before?"

"I’ve been here twice," James Black said.

Jane Sampson was surprised, "Why didn’t I know about this? When did this happen?"

Jane Sampson asked casually, and after asking, she lowered her head and continued playing with the phone, completely unaware that James Black beside her had suddenly become quiet.

James Black didn’t speak, but his gaze remained on Jane Sampson beside him.

The first time he had come to King Town was two years ago.

He was transporting a teammate’s remains.

The second time he came to King Town was last year, briefly visiting old teammates.

Jane Sampson’s casual question suddenly made James Black realize that the past him, although married, seemed to be alone.

It seemed that no matter what he was doing or where he was going, he never thought of telling Jane Sampson, his wife.

So, she didn’t know.

James Black quietly said sorry to her in his heart.

Back then, she was unhappier than now, needed him more than now, yet he never felt he had failed his duty as a husband.

More than half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a Huizhou-styled courtyard, the walls covered with ivy vines, through which one could see rows of blooming osmanthus.

So, Jane Sampson followed James Black out of the car, and immediately, the scent of osmanthus filled the air.

"Let’s go, I’ll take you inside." James Black held Jane Sampson’s hand in front of the courtyard, the gate was open, but James Black still knocked on the door, calling inside, "Sister Shaw."

A woman answered from inside, and James Black then led Jane Sampson inside.

Sister Shaw walked out of the hall house, startled upon seeing the people in the courtyard, "James Black, is that you?"

After seeing that James Black was bringing a girl, Sister Shaw said again, "Is this your wife? It’s about time I met her. Don’t stand in the courtyard, come inside."

Sister Shaw knew about James Black’s marriage, and given James Black’s nature, as soon as she saw a woman he was so intimately holding, she knew it had to be his wife.

"Why didn’t you tell me in advance that you were coming? What if I wasn’t in the shop?" Sister Shaw said joyfully, "Old Young has been gone for over two years, and including this time, this is your third visit."

"My wife just happened to be in King Town, so I brought her here to get some food, and later, I’ll take her to see Old Young," James Black pulled out a chair for Jane Sampson to sit, and after she sat down, he sat next to her.
