Chapter 1159 - 1167: Recognition

~4 min read 630 words

"You’ve only serviced me two or three months," James Black chuckled, "under normal circumstances, three times a week, twelve times a month, twenty-four times in two months, thirty-six times in three months, and today is just three times." "So, your worries are superfluous."

Jane Sampson’s chopsticks quivered and clattered onto the tabletop, her voice trembling, "You’re not planning on making up for the past three months in one go today, are you?"

Jane Sampson made a pitiful face. What’s the point of eating hotpot now? Even the tastiest food would taste bland.

This wasn’t about eating hotpot; it was clear they were eating her up.

Watching Jane’s expression change dramatically, from giggly one second to tearfully pitiful the next, James truly laughed.

"You wish," he took her chopsticks and placed them back in her hand, "sadly, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak."

"Phew~" Jane let out a deep sigh of relief.

Thinking about it, she also felt it made sense. Things like ’ten times a night’ or ’once all night’ as written in those comic books were just scams.

She had almost gotten scared there.

"I spoiled you a few times to get a taste of it, that’s enough. Any more than that, and you’d really suffer tonight," James said with a helpless tone, pushing his own bowl away as well.

He had only been playing along because he saw how excited Jane was.

Seeing her eagerness, he let her have a few bites and let her snatch some bites too.

"Alright." Jane knew her own limits well. After a bit of fuss and happiness, she calmed down.

Jane thought that nobody had seen her antics just now, but in a private room on the second floor, through the slightly open window, the person sitting in front of the window had a clear view of the courtyard—including Jane and James at their table.

The girl sitting by the window was the young guest Sister Shaw spoke of, who hadn’t noticed that the person opposite her wasn’t listening but was instead absentmindedly staring outside the window.

"Sister Shaw, are those two people in the courtyard your friends?" the girl suddenly asked, turning to look at Sister Shaw.

Sister Shaw was startled and instinctively turned her head to look through the window and see the two people downstairs before realizing and humming in affirmation, "That male is Old Young’s teammate, and that girl is his wife."

"He got married?" The girl seemed surprised by her own exclamation.

"He’s not young anymore, isn’t it normal for him to be married?" Sister Shaw sensed an undercurrent in the girl’s question, then followed up, "Judging by your tone, it seems like you know him?"

If she didn’t know him, why would she be so surprised by the marital status of an adult man?

The girl nodded and then shook her head, "I can’t really say I know him, but then again I sort of do. However, when I knew him, he didn’t seem to be married."

Then she immediately contradicted herself, "Or maybe, I was unaware that he was married."

"He and his wife have been married for several years now. You can tell, can’t you? They’re very affectionate with each other. My Old Young has a deep relationship with him. Anyone he brings here to meet me and Old Young must be someone he deeply treasures," Sister Shaw earnestly asked the opposite girl, "They’re a perfect match, don’t you think?"

"Is that woman an actress?" the girl inquired, "She looks like that actress named Jane Sampson."

"You recognized her too?" Sister Shaw nodded, looking at the girl who was happily hugging James’s arm and chatting about something. Sister Shaw said, "Doesn’t she look even more beautiful than she does on TV?"
