Chapter 1164 - 1172: Why Don’t You Want It Again?

~4 min read 628 words

James Black’s gaze shot toward Jane Sampson with a sour expression on his face, "No way."

Jane was still dumbfounded, and the salesperson, caught between the clearly displeased boy and the girl whose eyes were full of protest, spoke softly and cautiously, "Actually, the price difference between the new model and this one isn’t much. The mobile phone you’re holding hasn’t changed in price since it was launched, so it’s just about an extra one thousand to upgrade to the new model."

"I’ll buy it myself." Jane huffed, releasing James’ arm and walking a few steps away.

She was about to mutter ’stingy’ under her breath, but reflecting on how James, who had taken her to the shopping mall and effortlessly bought her numerous luxury goods without batting an eyelash, couldn’t really be called stingy.

So, she swallowed those three words back.

"It’s not about the money." James furrowed his eyebrows, took a step toward Jane, and gently took her hand that she had pulled away, hooking it through his arm again with a serious tone, "Are you sure you want the new model?"

Jane thought for a moment and then nodded her head.

Buying a mobile phone, everyone knows to buy new rather than old.

Her phone had just happened to break, and it just so happened that a new model was released. It wasn’t a blind pursuit of switching whenever a new model came out.

If it hadn’t been so unlucky, Jane would have continued using her phone until it broke, no matter how many new models were released during that period.

After all, she wasn’t a tech enthusiast.

But coincidentally, it just so happened.

James hummed in response and immediately took out his card and handed it to the salesperson, "Then two, one black and one red."

The salesperson, holding the card suddenly thrust into his hand, was stunned. Jane exclaimed in surprise, grabbed the card, and turned to look at James, "Why buy two?"

"For you, and for me." James countered, "Matching couple’s phones, not good enough?"

The expression on his face wasn’t pleasant, clearly indicating that if Jane dared shake her head, he might get upset.

Jane hadn’t expected James to come up with the idea of couple’s phones, but the more she thought about it, the more it seemed like the only reason.

After all, James wasn’t short of money. Let alone a thousand, even a difference of ten thousand or one hundred thousand wouldn’t matter to him if it was something she wanted.

So, that’s exactly why he didn’t agree earlier, it must have been for the reason he mentioned.

Below her mask, her lips slowly broke into a smile, and her eyes lit up with joy, heart feeling sweet.

"Then I’ll just buy back my old model," Jane suggested, "I won’t change it. Just the one I originally used is fine."

After Jane had spoken, she handed James’ card back to the salesperson, then instructed, "Just like he initially said, one red one will be fine."

The salesperson came back to reality, murmured an acknowledgment, nodded, and took the card to the next station to process.

James gently rubbed the smiling face watching him and spoke in a much softer voice, "Why don’t you want it anymore?"

"I don’t want it anymore." Jane shook her head obediently, "I didn’t know you..."

She giggled softly, unable to hide her good mood, "I can use any model, but it’s not the same for you. It’s a hassle for you to switch phones."

It would need various reviews and screenings, and only after the phone passed these would he be allowed to use it.

"Sweetie~" James was somewhat surprised; he hadn’t expected that in just a short conversation, Jane would consider his difficulties.
