Chapter 1168 - 1176: Against the Rules
James Black remained stony-faced and showed no intention of speaking, but next to him, Jane Sampson suddenly waved a tender finger and said in a soft and sweet voice, "That won’t do~"
After speaking, Jane Sampson turned her head to look at the security guard and asked, "That’s against the rules, right?"
"Yes." The security guard was a demobilized soldier, upright and rule-abiding, having come from the guard team.
Jane Sampson smiled at the old soldier and then turned to Jillian Carter and said, "You’re free to do a feature, but your order is clearly wrong. If you want to do this feature, you should first get approval from your superiors. Once they approve, they’ll naturally help you apply for entry to Martyrs’ Park. Only after you have permission should you come, that’s the proper procedure."
Jillian Carter’s expression immediately darkened. "You’re lecturing me about rules? Going in like that, you think that complies with the rules?"
"It does." Jane Sampson patted James Black on the arm and said, "He is my lawful husband, I am his wife, and he is a defender, so us entering together to visit his old teammates complies with the rules."
After speaking, Jane Sampson slightly tilted her head and leaned it on James Black’s arm, embodying the look of a delicate bird relying on a person.
The security guard also agreed, saying, "Yes, defenders are allowed to bring family members into the park."
James Black gave Jillian Carter a cool glance, lifted his hand, and patted his young wife, who was leaning on his arm, "Let’s go, I’ll take you around King Town."
"Will you buy me something tasty?" Jane Sampson looked up eagerly at James Black.
"No." James Black flatly declined and then, holding the pouting Jane Sampson’s hand, they left. They exited the main gate and hailed an empty taxi that was passing by and departed.
The two had completely ignored Jillian Carter, who stood there with a somber face.
The person who had been holding hands with James Black moments before pushed him away as soon as she entered the car and sat on the other side.
"What’s the matter?" James Black asked, puzzled as he didn’t understand why Jane Sampson had suddenly become unhappy again.
"Jillian Carter did not just happen to come here for a feature. She specifically came looking for you, don’t think I don’t know!" Jane Sampson thought for a moment and then blurted out, "You flirt with everyone! I hate you."
Jane Sampson wasn’t foolish. Meeting Jillian Carter at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum, who had no permission to enter, was clearly not just here for a feature.
She must have learned from Sister Shaw about James Black and Old Young’s relationship. So after she saw James with Jillian Carter, she quickly came hoping to find James at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum.
Jillian Carter was obviously hoping to meet him, it would give her a chance to talk more with James under the guise of the project. If she didn’t run into him, the worst she’d face was a few extra trips.
A woman understands another woman perfectly.
Jane Sampson could instantly see Jillian Carter’s intentions towards James Black.
Jillian Carter liked James Black.
From the moment she said she had been looking for James for nearly three years, Jane Sampson could feel it.
When Jillian Carter talked to James Black, her eyes were only for him; Jane Sampson, though standing right next to them, was as if invisible. James hadn’t expected the usually easy-to-deceive Jane Sampson to see right through Jillian Carter’s plan. He smiled and curled his lips, "Looks like my silly wife isn’t that foolish after all."
