Chapter 1175 - 1183: Loves to Lie

"Happy?" James Black slipped Jane Sampson’s hand into his coat pocket and gently massaged it.

Jane instinctively nodded, then hummed and shook her head.

"Just a little," she laughed.

"Ha," James scoffed, "your biggest flaw right now is that you love to lie."

Clearly, her happy tail was about to shoot up to the sky, yet just a little, ha.

Jane’s eyes curved, her head gently resting on James’s shoulder, reflecting the soft surrounding lights and him.

She looked up at James, about to speak, when James leaned down first and lightly touched the corner of her mouth with a kiss.

It was an intimate gesture, but not a mere dragonfly skimming the water action, touching and leaving immediately.

Instead, it lingered for the moment their lips touched.

A few seconds later, he lifted his head, ending the shallow kiss.

"The bridge is windy, let’s go, I’ll take you across for a stroll," James, holding the small hand inside his pocket, led her step by step off the bridge.

The old street night market here was unlike other city’s night markets, everywhere exuded a fireworks scent.

The streets were empty except for two local snack shops they saw upon entering. Further down, all the storefronts sold handicrafts, and there was even a cultural exhibition hall hidden on this street.

"This shouldn’t be called a night market, it should be called Culture Street." Jane looked up at James and noticed a cute pendant on display, pulling her hand from his pocket to pick it up and show it to James, "Look, it’s made of bamboo, but so delicate."

"Yes, there are two stores on this street specializing in bamboo handicrafts. Most of these items are sold internationally, and few tourists come here. Hence, the shops usually don’t open until two or three in the afternoon, locals from King Town also come around that time to buy things they need, but such individual visitors are rare, this is Cultural Night Market Street," James explained.

Jane nodded, not surprised this place was hardly found on the internet since there wasn’t food or entertainment, and few people ventured here.

If not for James, Jane would likely not have visited this place if she were in King Town alone.

The two strolled through the night market at a leisurely pace, Jane pulling James into shops she found interesting, sometimes buying, sometimes not, and if lucky, even witnessed an old master doing bamboo carving.

Jane thought, although she didn’t get to enjoy a cup of milk tea, she liked walking these quiet streets with James, liked how he accompanied her around, paying for her, carrying all the things she liked.

When they returned to the hotel after ten o’clock, Jane went to the bathroom first to take a shower, then lay on the bed playing with her new phone.

After setting the air conditioner, James took a change of clothes and entered the bathroom while Jane was chatting on WhatsApp with Nina Rice.

Upon hearing Jane was in King Town, Nina listed several recommendations for good food and fun places in rapid succession.

Today James took me to a super delicious hot pot restaurant, the taste was great! — James Black’s wife.

It wouldn’t happen to be that one in your little building with no signboard, would it? — Mickey Mouse Eats No Rice.

Jane blurted out in surprise at Nina’s reply.

Yes, how did you know! — James Black’s wife.
