Chapter 1193 - 1201: Something’s Off
Jane Sampson didn’t even have the opportunity to continue speaking and refuse; she was directly pushed by Bright Sampton to wash up.
Since she had slept all day and sweated all day, Jane’s body was all sticky. Before going out to eat, she specifically washed her hair and took a bath, so by the time she and Bright Sampton left the room for dinner, it was already over seven o’clock.
Bright Sampton was worried that Jane Sampson would get tired if she walked too far, so he pulled Jane along and chose a seemingly busy hotel restaurant on the first floor of the hotel to resolve their dinner.
The hotel was large, and besides its own self-service restaurant on the first floor, there were also two coffee houses and several fine dining restaurants with different cuisines.
Every dish in the restaurant was exquisite, but when eaten by Jane Sampson, she couldn’t taste what these dishes were like at all.
Perhaps it was because her taste buds were still dull from recovering from a severe illness, or perhaps it was because her mood was in turmoil.
On the other hand, Bright Sampton seemed to be in a rather good mood, even praising the quality of the restaurant’s dishes and adding some vegetables to Jane’s plate.
Jane Sampson wanted to speak several times but stopped herself, and seeing Bright Sampton in such a good mood, she ultimately didn’t say anything and held back.
After eating, the two stayed in the room until 11:30, with Bright Sampton forcefully dragging Jane Sampson out of the room.
Jane Sampson kept saying to just forget about it, but Bright Sampton still made up an excuse about going out to take their minds off things and insisted on taking Jane out.
Without exception, Bright Sampton took Jane Sampson directly to the Crystal Element Hotel.
This hotel was another ultra five-star hotel in King Town apart from the one where Jane stayed. According to the text message received later, Bright Sampton held onto Jane Sampson and reported her last name and the last digits of her mobile phone at the reception to get a room card before directly entering the elevator.
It was probably because the cold wind had blown for a while outside, but Jane Sampson seemed to have cooled down completely.
"Bright, something’s not right here," Jane Sampson said, grabbing Bright Sampton’s hand and shaking her head, "Don’t you find it strange? If they are my parents, why didn’t they wait for me to arrive and personally come downstairs to pick me up? Instead, they left instructions at the reception for me to pick up the room card myself and find them? Don’t you think that’s illogical?"
"It’s like I’m trying too hard to please, partaking in a behavior that doesn’t seem like what a parent would do. And not just parents, Bright, if it were you during that month abroad and I went alone overseas to the hotel where you stayed, would you arrange it like this?" Jane Sampson asked, "Wouldn’t you wait for me to arrive and then come downstairs to greet me to go up together?"
"The text message said it was because your identity is unique, and they were worried about being seen by someone with intentions," Bright Sampton scratched his head and said.
"It’s still not right," Jane Sampson stated, "They actually had many other choices, like going to the hotel where I was staying. If they can afford this place, they can afford the place where I was staying. They could have stayed at my hotel, and we could have arranged to meet there at a decided time, which would have been the safest."
"Additionally, one more thing, since they already had my private phone number, why didn’t they call me personally first to confirm some details before being so certain that I am their daughter? Even if they were certain I am their daughter, wouldn’t they want to talk to me over the phone first, hear my voice, and see my attitude?"
