Chapter 1214 - 1222 Northland Accent

"And then?" James Black’s tone was ominously clear.

George Young’s body jerked violently, and words that he had originally thought noble enough not to utter spilled out all at once.

"That person said that at about 11:30 to 12 o’clock a girl would come to the room, asking me to pretend to be that boy’s father, then give this female a glass of water laced with a sedative, and wait until she fainted. After the girl fainted, I was supposed to use that camera to record a video."

The more George Young talked, the more he trembled with fear, just thinking about being skinned made his whole body ache.

"What was the video about?" Jane Sampson couldn’t help but to speak up and ask.

"She told me to strip off all the clothes of that girl who came to me after she fainted, then use the camera to record the girl’s naked figure, and then hand over the video to her." By this point, George Young was crying, "That’s all I knew. I was just a driver. But later the deal wasn’t finished, and that woman didn’t want to pay the agreed final payment either; it took me a long time to finally get the 20,000 bucks."

"Was that woman this person?" Jane Sampson took out a photo of Jillian Carter from her mobile phone and handed it to George Young, "Look carefully, don’t just brush it off."

"No, it’s not her, the woman who spoke had an accent like she was from the Northland, not a local from King Town." George Young shook his head, "But this person in the photo is a reporter from our King Town, I recognize her."

Jillian Carter was completely ruled out of suspicion.

"How did this woman contact you?" Jane Sampson asked, "And how did she give you the money?"

"She made a phone call to me. I don’t know her, and I don’t know how she got my phone number. I’ve never left King Town my whole life, so I don’t know anyone from outside our city." Charles Young said, "She paid me in cash. When she came to find me, she was wearing a mask and a hood, just like the beautiful lady by your side now."

He paused, then Charles Young added, "Right, that day when she came to find me, she was wearing a pair of bee-patterned shoes, those shoes are very expensive, I remember they cost about five or six thousand bucks. There’s a tycoon’s beloved daughter in our village who wears exactly the same pair."

"Bee-patterned shoes?" Jane Sampson immediately went online and began searching, then saved a few pictures for Charles Young to identify. He lived up to expectations and recognized them within seconds.

"Give me his mobile phone." James Black said to the man Aunt Black had sent to assist Jane Sampson.

"Okay." The man nodded, began searching and soon after found Charles Young’s mobile phone and handed it over to James Black.

This was a very old mobile phone, James Black took it and directly checked the call history.

He immediately saw the familiar number.

The person who contacted Charles Young had used the same number that was used to send text messages to Jane Sampson, it was a very new number, likely obtained through some means without any registration. Otherwise, they probably wouldn’t have dared to use it for making calls.

"Just now you said that the woman who found you had a Northland accent, and you never left King Town, and you don’t know how she got your number." Jane Sampson stood up from the chair, thought for a moment, and then asked, "Do you have any relatives or friends in the Northland?"

If there was no intermediary, she probably wouldn’t have found Charles Young, the gambler.

"The Northland, yes, quite a few!" Charles Young nodded repeatedly, "So many I can’t even count them all. There are those studying in the Northland, and those working there, and with so many cities in the Northland, how would I know which city you’re referring to?"
