Chapter 1243 - 1251: Did Not Say What to Do
"Morning," Jane Sampson smiled at James Black as she rubbed her eyes.
James’s lips quirked into a slight smile as he leaned over and kissed Jane on the lips before they both went to wash up together.
By the time the couple came downstairs, the three seniors of the Black Family were already in the living room getting ready for breakfast. Seeing Jane follow James down so early, both Old Master Black and Brooke Black were a bit surprised.
"Up this early?"
Old Master Black woke up early and went to bed early out of habit, while Brooke Black and her husband awoke at this time every day due to their jobs.
The three seniors in the house were generally indulgent towards Jane, who usually slept until she naturally awoke before coming downstairs for breakfast.
"I wanted to sleep in, but James wouldn’t let me," Jane pouted as she took her seat, tattling on him. "He’s so annoying."
The annoying man in question sat down next to Jane and glanced at her upon hearing those three words from his wife.
"Yes, this kid, so annoying," Brooke playfully scolded James. "Stop glaring at your wife, it’s no use, you’re still annoying. But even when you are, your wife still misses you all the time."
Jane protested almost jumping up, "Not true!"
"Yes, you do," Old Master Black chuckled, joining in. "You’ve been subtly asking around for news from me every day, don’t think I haven’t noticed."
Jane was immediately rendered speechless by the Old Sir.
She had thought her snooping skills were pretty adept, but it turned out the Old Sir had noticed and simply hadn’t pointed it out.
Feeling guilty, Jane touched the tip of her nose and sneakily glanced at James. Seeing him smile, Jane quickly looked away.
Look how amused he was.
Uncle Black was delighted to know that James would be staying at home for a few days and chatted with him over breakfast for so long he almost delayed going to the company.
After Brooke and her husband left, James had planned to take Jane for a walk outside, but upon hearing it, she didn’t hesitate before dashing upstairs, leaving behind a message that she was going back to sleep and ignoring James waiting downstairs.
At this time, it was cold in Capital Province; who would want to go for a walk early in the morning?
Didn’t this man know how to take pity on someone?
Wasn’t last night’s torment enough?
And now, he wanted to continue tormenting her with a variety of tactics first thing in the morning?
"No worries, let the girl be spoiled a bit. It’s cold now, and with her temperament, it’d be strange if she went out for a walk with you," Old Master Black said to a speechless James with a chuckle. "These past few days, she’s been at home a lot. I’ve been paying attention and have gotten her to pick up those martial arts skills she used to practice, consider it exercise."
James hummed in response, letting go of the person who had already run off without a trace.
After Jane went back upstairs, she lay back in bed and fell asleep shortly, genuinely exhausted from the night before, thus her sleep now was exceptionally sound.
However, when she woke up at 11 o’clock and went downstairs looking for someone, she only saw Old Master Black and the Great General sunbathing in the courtyard. After searching the entire Black Residence without finding James or even the car, Jane became puzzled.
"Grandfather, where did James run off to?" Jane asked, pulling up a chair and sitting obediently next to Old Master Black.
"He went out mysteriously without saying what for," Old Master Black said. "Are you looking for him? He said he’d be back by noon for a meal."
