"Jane Joy?" James Carter burst into laughter. "Jane Joy, though a newly established studio, is indeed good. Whenever you’ve decided, just call me, and I’ll be happy to help."

"By the way, everyone says Jane Sampson is easy-going. Can you give me some insight—is this good image she has just for show, or what? How different is she from the rumors?" William King was not afraid of anything these days, except encountering another Jillian Carter.

Jane Sampson and Jillian Carter were about the same age, and it was clear from Jane Sampson’s social posts that she was born with a golden spoon too. Therefore, after interacting with Jillian, William grew even more worried.

"She, well, don’t worry about her. She really is easy-going. The way she’s described in the rumors, that’s exactly how she truly is—a very approachable and clever girl, very hardworking with talents in many areas. She’s established her studio now, has solid backing, and has quite good resources. Sooner or later, she will stand on high grounds."

James Carter was very generous with his praises for Jane Sampson.

But praising too much could seem insincere, so James Carter spoke the most truthful words.

With this assurance from James, William King felt relieved, "Then I’ll look into it further these next few days."

This was also why William King agreed to Jillian Carter’s request to investigate Jane Sampson’s background, because William King himself wanted to secretly check on Jane Sampson. If this potential future boss had no issues, he would then make an effort to connect with Jane Joy.

However, William King was not foolish; he would investigate as needed, and how he would discuss this with Jillian was his own business. After all, he had no grudges with Jane Sampson, and she might very likely be his new boss.

After Jane Sampson had her fill and was happy, not minding the popcorn anymore, James Black directly took her back to the Black Residence.

Old Master Black saw James Black carrying just a few small items into the building and was wide-eyed, "You took your wife out for an entire afternoon, and you only bought her this little stuff? How did I raise such a stingy son?"

Jane Sampson was in the courtyard playing with Great General and, hearing Old Master Black scolding James Black, stood there and laughed heartily without any guilt.

"The other stuff is still inside the car; didn’t plan on taking it up. We’ll just bring it home later." James Black explained briefly and glanced over at the laughing woman in the courtyard.

"Treat her well, there aren’t many such naive girls around these days," Old Master Black joked about Jane Sampson with a laugh, "At noon, she even made me help her compete with you, just to be won over by a plate of crayfish."

James Black hooked a smile and hummed an acknowledgment, carrying the stuff and heading upstairs.

When he came down again, Jane Sampson was about to take Great General out for a walk. James Black hurried after her, his hand stopping her by the shoulder, "I’ll come with you."

Great General barked a few times, seemingly disdainful, circled around Jane Sampson, and then led the way enthusiastically.

Jane Sampson exclaimed softly and nudged James Black, "Great General seems particularly happy today."

James raised his eyebrows; he didn’t care whether the Great General was happy or not, he only cared about whether Jane Sampson was.

As Great General led the way, with the following people not moving much, it couldn’t continue forward after a certain distance. It then turned around, barked a few times, tugged at its leash around the neck, and the disdainful look at James Black became more apparent.
