Chapter 2211 - 2219: I’m Going Too
"Alright, then I’ll thank you in advance. In the future, I’ll rely on you a lot, Young Master Wilson," Jane Sampson said, agreeing to it after expressing her gratitude.
It’s said that the Carter Family holds half the sky on the southside.
Granny Carter wants Oscar Wilson to help her integrate into that circle.
Even though she has been officially recognized back home by the Carter Family, although everyone will outwardly respect her, at that moment, Jane Sampson finds it very difficult to discern the true nature and intentions of those surrounding her.
If someone is there to guide her, it would indeed save her a lot of trouble.
"The word ’thank you’ is too worthless. If you really want to thank me, bring a thank you gift when we meet." Oscar Wilson shamelessly asked, "Do you know how delicious the small cookies you baked are? They’re not greasy at all, very fragrant. Last time I had some, I took the rest home, and they were all snatched by my cousin’s daughter! Didn’t leave me a single one!"
As he spoke, Oscar Wilson pretended to cry pitifully with terrible acting skills, "I’m so aggrieved. She happily ate my cookies. She had some, her mom and dad had some, her grandparents had some, her granduncle and grandaunt had some, just none for me."
He could cry even faker, the least convincing crying drama in history.
"You haven’t even done the task yet, and you’re asking for the reward. Alright, I’ll fulfill your wish and give you small cookies." Jane Sampson smiled softly, "You set the time for the gathering."
Just as Jane Sampson said this, she suddenly heard James Black next to her add a sentence, "I’m going too."
"Hmm?" Jane Sampson turned her head to look at James Black, "What did you just say?"
She felt like she was hallucinating.
"Tell Oscar Wilson, I’m going too." James Black lightly rubbed Jane Sampson’s head, "Didn’t hear it?"
"Heard it, heard it~" Jane Sampson dodged James Black’s hand reaching for her mobile phone, and said to Oscar Wilson on the other end, "James Black says he’s going too."
As a result, a cry of lament came from Oscar Wilson on the phone.
"No way? Does your daddy have to watch over you even at such a small gathering? Tell your daddy that none of us have any improper intentions towards you. We’ll help him keep an eye on you, won’t let you flirt with other little brothers, and definitely won’t let you be flirted away by other little brothers. Let him focus on his work at the guard team and not worry too much about our gathering."
The one who had improper intentions towards Jane Sampson has already gone abroad and won’t be returning soon.
So Oscar Wilson felt quite melancholy about it.
"He’s right next to me. Here, I’ll give the phone to him, and you can tell him yourself." Jane Sampson said.
Oscar Wilson immediately caved.
"It was just a joke. Don’t take it so seriously. We all wholeheartedly welcome Investor Black’s visit!" Oscar Wilson swiftly changed his tune.
Jane Sampson pursed her lips, acknowledging his tact. She wouldn’t dare say those words to James Black, and even giving Oscar Wilson ten times the courage, he wouldn’t dare either.
"James Black is still on vacation recently. If I went out to play, he’d be all alone at home, and that’d be boring." Jane Sampson explained on behalf of James Black.
When she goes out and isn’t at home, James Black is just there at home, buried in reading books and newspapers, not even touching his mobile phone.
If it weren’t for Thomas Lancaster and the others inviting James Black out to have fun, James Black would be a homebody, someone without a fun-filled life.
"Yes, yes, yes, we can’t let your Father Black be bored alone at home. I know you care about him; you don’t have to explain it to me specifically. We understand, we all understand." Oscar Wilson laughed insincerely several times, knowing that James Black was next to Jane Sampson, so he didn’t talk much further with Jane Sampson and hung up after exchanging just a few words.
