Chapter 2240 - 2249: Just a Little More Effort

"Tsk, such a fair-weather friend, seeing Little Jane is the Carter Family’s biological daughter and more pampered, she just latched onto her, annoying." Rose Carter turned her back immediately, pulling her little sister along to grab some food, then after greeting Jane Sampson and James Black, she left.

"She really has a straightforward personality," Jane Sampson muttered softly.

"It’s exactly that temper of hers, she’s offended quite a few people, and that mouth of hers," Oscar Wilson nodded in agreement, "But I like dealing with someone like her, it’s interesting. I’m not clever, can’t play with those too shrewd ones, it’d be disastrous."

After saying that, Oscar Wilson took some food and left as well.

Jane Sampson nodded, took another bite of the mousse on her plate, glanced at the half-eaten strawberry mousse, and then turned to look at those plump mochis. Jane Sampson picked up the remaining half and offered it to James Black.

"Try it, it’s really delicious," Jane Sampson said teasingly, smiling at James Black.

By her gaze just now, James Black already knew what she was thinking.

There were too many tempting foods, but her appetite was limited.

So, she planned to try a half or a few bites of each, leaving the rest for him, this way, nothing was wasted, and she could sample many flavors.

Seeing her happy made James Black indulge her, he opened his mouth ready to take the dessert she offered.

But she suddenly took her hand back, his open mouth biting nothing, possibly even gulping down some air.

Looking up at her, he saw her take another bite of the quarter strawberry on top of the small half and then offered the remaining dessert back to his mouth.

James Black couldn’t help but laugh out of being teased.

"I’ll buy you a basket of strawberries when we get home, let you eat to your heart’s content," James Black opened his mouth, this time truly tasting the half piece of cake she left.

"Hehe," Jane Sampson’s eyes curved with a smile that made it hard to get annoyed, playfully tugging on James Black’s arm, pointing to the plate of mochis behind him.

James Black turned and got one for her, still reminding, "Don’t eat too many sweets, after this is over, I’ll take you to try some local specialties at the night market."

Holding the plump mochi, Jane Sampson smiled so much that her eyes nearly disappeared.

"You’re especially nice today," Jane Sampson sincerely praised.

James Black took a step forward, wrapping an arm around her waist, smile in his eyes, "Compliment me a bit more, maybe if you get me happy enough, tonight I’ll let you eat a bit more of whatever."

"You’re especially handsome today, no, you’re especially handsome every day, I really like you~" Jane Sampson leaned her head against James Black’s chest, playfully acting coy, "Have I made you happy yet? If not enough, I can try a bit more."

A soft, endearing little girl, looking at him, her eyes filled only with him.

The joy on James Black’s face was truly hard to hide.

"Not bad," James Black said, then leaned down to peck her on the corner of her lips, right at a spot with cream, licking it off with his tongue, he stood up straight and nodded, "This white fatty tastes better than the one before."

The two of them stood there, affectionately chatting and laughing, making several young girls coming this way blush and hesitant to approach further.

When Jillian Carter and Joseph Shaw arrived, they saw this group of girls talking quietly about Jane Sampson and James Black.

"Oh my, seeing their interaction on Twitter you could tell Jane Sampson and her husband are very close, but I didn’t expect them to be this close!"
