Chapter 612 - 620: You’re Wasting Your Time
Peter Gingery’s movements in opening the gift suddenly paused, then he quickly stuffed the gift he was opening into his pocket.
It would be better not to open Jane Sampson’s, that little lass’s, gift in front of the audience, to avoid scaring people to death without compensation.
"Blackface, quite fitting." Peter Gingery murmured, then opened the gift from Hugo Edwards, which was a pair of Hugo’s own calligraphy.
It was then that everyone turned their attention to the item in Peter Gingery’s hand, taking turns to praise Hugo Edwards’s calligraphy once over.
Liam Woody put away the gift from Jane Sampson, his gaze aimlessly sweeping past Jane down in the audience, then glanced once more toward the middle, where James Black was seated.
Forget it, with the Chief looking out for his sister-in-law, what could he possibly do?
Liam Woody continued unwrapping another gift, and when he realized that what he had in his hand was the gift from Mair Williams, he hesitated for a moment over whether to switch to another. But noticing that Mair Williams was anxiously watching him, Liam Woody decided against it.
What if the girl noticed his action and thought he was criticizing her?
Liam Woody unwrapped the little packaging containing the gift, pulling out a piece of cardboard, which he saw from the back first because it was the wrong way around.
However, the camera lens had a front view of it first.
Seeing the Big Brother photographer almost lose his grip on the camera from laughing and then swiftly providing a close-up of the cardboard card in Liam Woody’s hand.
On the card was a comic character drawn by Mair Williams, a gift she prepared for all the instructors, all cute chibi comic portraits.
But Liam Woody’s was slightly different from the others.
The difference was in the colors.
Everyone else’s portraits had green team uniforms and healthy skin tones.
Liam Woody’s, though, had the green team uniform for the clothes, but apart from the clothes, including the skin of the hands, everything was drawn in black, with only the whites of the eyes left white. Big eyes with black pupils had a white patch of sclera on the side; this was the only white part of the comic character.
Liam Woody picked up the gift just now given by Jane Sampson for a comparison, then turned his head and asked Peter Gingery, who had started to laugh again next to him, "Am I really this dark?"
"No, you’re quite pale." Peter Gingery pointed with his finger at the white part of the eyes in the comic, "See, isn’t that pale?"
Liam Woody looked down at Mair Williams back stage, and seeing her apologetic face, he finally understood why Mair Williams had been hesitant about giving him the gift.
Probably the girl regretted drawing him like that when she was handing out the gifts on stage.
Under Mair Williams’ watchful eyes, Liam Woody carefully put the gift back in its place, comforting himself with the thought.
Being dark-skinned is natural; he can’t change the color of his skin.
After all, he’s a man, and being dark is always better than being pale like a boiled chicken.
Once the gift-receiving segment of the recording ended, tonight’s recording work was concluded.
The director called for actors to take a group photo on stage tonight, thrilling the team members to no end.
After the group photo session, Jane Sampson was surrounded by a bunch of passionately enthusiastic team members, all requesting individual photos with Jane.
Having changed back into her training uniform, Jane simply nodded her head and stood on stage like a prop, letting the group of team members one by one take photos with her.
