Chapter 618 - 626: Liking Every Person

~4 min read 708 words

Speaking of which, Jane Sampson suddenly noticed James Black and Peter Gingery just walk through the doorway. She curved the corners of her lips into a smile, her gaze filled with amusement, as she said rather loudly, "I like every single person here."

The team members on the other side, hearing this sentence, became excited all at once, each thinking, oh my, Sister-in-law said she likes me! Oh my, Goddess Sampson said she likes me!

Meanwhile, James Black glanced over at Jane Sampson and frowned slightly upon hearing her words.

"A bunch of idiots, what’s there to like?" James Black scoffed, turning his head to address Peter Gingery, "Including you!"

Peter Gingery exclaimed in surprise and took a step back. Why did it feel like Chief Black was emanating a hint of jealousy at this moment?

"Brother," Peter Gingery spoke in a lowered voice, "Sister-in-law said she likes every single person here, and every single person, I don’t know if that includes you."

The response was unquestionable.

James Black chuckled. Of course, it didn’t include him.

This woman, who only ever irritated him, how could she possibly like him?

James Black kept a straight face and left Peter Gingery behind, striding forward. Meanwhile, Peter Gingery stood there, watching James Black’s retreating figure, dumbfounded, "What’s got into him, being all moody all of a sudden?"

Muttering to himself, Peter Gingery thought that Chief Black had been particularly moody recently, even more so than before.

After getting his meal and sitting down at the table, Lieutenant Johnson, along with Peter Gingery and Liam Woody, came to sit next to him. Johnson spoke up, "The program crew is leaving later, and we few will represent the guard team to see off the guests. Chief, do you want to go say some parting words to Sister-in-law?"

Peter Gingery’s hand trembled, causing his chopsticks to quiver. He turned his head to look at Lieutenant Johnson, "Parting words?"

Gosh, that was absolutely not something within James Black’s character, thought Peter Gingery. And sure enough, James Black’s answer was bound to be...

"No," James Black replied without a second thought.

Peter Gingery secretly grimaced. He knew that this was exactly the straightforward reply the real James Black would give. They were a couple that could go three to five months without seeing each other; after having been together for so long already, what parting words could there possibly be?

Besides, James Black was not one to engage in tender farewells.

Whenever someone said goodbye to James Black with a "I’m leaving," he would only respond with a "Hmm."

Accompanied, of course, by a "do as you please" kind of look.

After the meal, the program crew’s coach bus was already parked at the doorway of the guard team. Lieutenant Johnson, Liam Woody, and Peter Gingery went on behalf of the guard team to see off the entire program crew.

Mair Williams waited a long time for her chance. Taking advantage of a moment without the cameraman following her, she quietly moved next to the black-face instructor, stealthily tugging at his sleeve, saying, "The gift I gave you last night wasn’t intended to make fun of you. I just thought that the person drawn like that looked a lot like you and was especially cute and adorable. But still, I want to say I’m sorry."

Liam Woody looked puzzled. What was going on?

"The one from last night, you can just discard it. This is a new one I drew for you early this morning." Mair Williams quickly took something out of her pocket and stuffed it over, probably afraid that the black-face instructor would get angry and refuse it, so she slipped the item right into his pocket. After a pause, she mustered up the courage to add, "My WhatsAPP ID is 224... remember to add me!"

Having said that, Mair Williams quickly ran off.

Once Mair Williams boarded the business vehicle, Liam Woody still wore a dumbfounded expression.

Only after the program crew’s cars had all driven away did Peter Gingery run over to Liam Woody’s side, lightly hitting him on the shoulder, and asked with a sneaky tone, "What did Mair Williams secretly tell you just now? I saw it all, you know."
