Chapter 642 - 650: Trouble
Heh, heh. — Jane Sampson’s Mr. Black.
After taking a bath, Jane saw the particularly lukewarm reply from James Black among the many messages, and chose to skip it as if she hadn’t seen it.
That night, Jane slept so comfortably. The next day, she went to JK Company feeling refreshed and energetic.
In the morning, they were taking indoor publicity photos. Jane was the earliest to arrive, having already visited JK’s makeup room yesterday, so she went straight upstairs upon her arrival.
In JK’s makeup room, every light and every mirror, including the windows, was meticulously designed. The moment she walked in, the ambiance made Jane want to find a bed and lie down to rest.
The makeup artist responsible for Jane was a woman. Jane’s clothing was a pure white, form-fitting, one-shoulder dress that, on her, didn’t appear overly sexy but instead added an indescribable air of purity because of its white color. The makeup artist, standing behind Jane, was about to tie her long hair up to avoid interfering with the makeup process. However, as soon as Jane’s hair was lifted up, the artist noticed Jane’s exposed shoulders, paused, and then said, "Wait, I need to apply some concealer on your neck and your chest."
"Huh?" Jane didn’t react immediately and turned sideways to look in the mirror.
She glanced at herself in the mirror and was dumbfounded.
"Um, sorry for the trouble," Jane slowly turned her head back, her ears reddening first, followed by her face.
Damn that James Black! Stupid Black!
Had already told him not to kiss spots that were too obvious, but he still couldn’t keep his mouth in check, always kissing her neck and such places!
Annoying!
The marks were still there even after a day and a night!
Feeling annoyed, Jane bit her teeth and picked up her mobile phone to send James Black a WhatsAPP message.
You, turtle egg! You, jerk! You, nuisance! — James Black’s wife.
After sending the message, Jane placed her mobile phone upside down on the table.
Outside the door, Mandy Forest stood there for a few seconds before finally entering. As she passed by Jane, she glanced at the area where the makeup artist was applying concealer and her expression darkened slightly. Then, she sat down across from Jane with a cold demeanor.
"Morning, Miss Forest," the makeup artist greeted Mandy, then turned to her assistant, "Go call Leah, let her know Miss Forest is here."
"Okay." The assistant on the side placed the tea in front of Jane and then left the room.
Jane looked up at Mandy and noticed she was glaring at her with an unpleasant expression. Jane simply nodded slightly to her as a greeting.
Just as she was about to check her mobile phone to see if James had replied to her message, her phone rang.
Upon seeing the caller ID, Jane’s eyes lit up with a smile.
It was James Carter.
"Mr. Carter!" Jane quickly answered, excitedly greeting, "Good morning, Mr. Carter!"
"Are you busy?" James Carter’s voice was gentle, "Around this time, you should be working, right?"
"Just getting my makeup done." Jane quickly replied, "I’ll be in City S for the next couple of days, barring any surprises."
"I know, I saw the Moments you posted last night, that cyber-popular candy store is only in City S. Coincidentally, I’m also on my way to City S today, if you’re not busy in the evening, may I treat you to dinner?" James Carter added hastily, wary that Jane might have other plans, "If you have other arrangements, it’s okay to decline, no worries."
