Chapter 738 - 746: Can’t Be Eaten as a Meal

~4 min read 659 words

"Come on, little Jane, tell everyone about your husband’s good points." As someone who had witnessed James Black’s attentive care of Jane Sampson, Coco Edwards believed that James was an exceptional man.

"Hold on, let me record this on my mobile phone." Quincy Forest stood up, then turned on the recording function of her phone and handed it to Jane Sampson, earnestly saying, "Miss. Sampson, I am going to interview you now. What good qualities do you think your husband has?"

Jane Sampson’s smile suddenly stiffened, she showed her teeth, grinning rather forcedly.

These turtle eggs, eating her food, drinking her drinks, and now they’re making her lose face like this; she’ll slip some laxatives into their food later or something.

"Come on, spit it out, how much longer are you going to think over such a simple question?" Quincy Forest patted Jane Sampson’s shoulder, urging her.

"Ahem." Jane Sampson cleared her throat, looked over at James Black, who seemed to be contemplating something as he stared at her, giggled, quickly turned her head back, and then said into Quincy Forest’s mobile phone, "James Black, he’s handsome! The kind who’s been handsome since childhood! Handsome when he was little, grew up without getting ugly, still very handsome!"

"Can handsomeness be eaten like a meal?" Alexander Forest scoffed.

"Being handsome might not be edible, but it sure makes a meal more appetizing," Jane Sampson answered with measured emphasis and vehement conviction, "Would you be able to eat if you had to face an ugly woman at the table? But imagine if you’re facing a beauty like me, wouldn’t you be able to eat two more bowls of rice?"

"I never realized that you were so shameless, nor did I see that you were such a fan of looks," Quincy Forest said as she put her mobile phone away and sat back down, sighing heavily, "But come to think of it, why are the people around me all so good-looking? Probably because I’m good-looking myself, so like attracts like."

"You call others shameless, but actually, you’re even more shameless than they are," John Young was directly amused by Quincy Forest’s comment.

"Brother Young, you disagree? Don’t tell me you think you’re not good-looking? I think everyone in this house is particularly attractive," Quincy Forest said.

Coco Edwards tilted her head back and drank a can of cola, remarking with a sense of joy, "I’m so happy I feel like eating two more pieces of meat to celebrate."

The group of people stayed in the villa making noise until almost nine o’clock before dispersing. Since they drove over, everyone at the dining table had refrained from drink. After seeing everyone off, Jane Sampson and James Black returned to the villa, only to sigh at the sight of the mess on the dining table.

"Get the stuff into the kitchen, leave the bowls and chopsticks, and find an hourly worker to come wash them tomorrow," James Black said to Jane Sampson, knowing she was tired from being busy all afternoon, "After you finish cleanup, head upstairs to take a bath and rest early."

James Black mentioned this because his hands were injured and he couldn’t help Jane clean up the table, otherwise, he could have done all these tasks by himself.

Jane Sampson probably hadn’t rested well last night, starting off with her concern for him, perhaps not sleeping peacefully, and later curling up at his feet and sleeping in a tight ball, which naturally didn’t lead to a good night’s sleep.

When they left the hospital in the afternoon, Coco Edwards bought groceries, and Jane had been busy in the kitchen till meal time.

James Black thought that, later on, it might be better not to invite people to eat at home.

Unless they had a nanny in the house.

Jane Sampson stood beside the dining table, humming in agreement, and quickly tidied up everything that needed cleaning in a few minutes.
