Chapter 740 - 748: Good Heart
Gazing intently at James Black, Jane Sampson raised the hand she had been hiding behind her back and touched his hair, muttering, "A buzz cut is so convenient, just wipe it a bit, and the hair’s almost dry, hardly any need for a hairdryer."
"Hmm." Even though he just hummed a single syllable, James Black’s voice couldn’t hide his current emotions, low and husky.
Jane Sampson had always known how sexy James Black’s voice was when he got aroused.
But she had never listened to it so intently before when she was this lucid.
Standing beside the bed, her gaze slowly moved down from James’s hair, skipping over his nearly flaming eyes, bit by bit, and then landed on a certain spot.
After a moment’s thought, Jane Sampson asked very seriously, "James, are you uncomfortable?"
Before James could answer her, Jane’s voice continued gently, "Otherwise, shall I help you press it down?"
As she spoke, she had already extended her hand towards that area, and just as she was about to touch the quilt, she added, "I’ll try to be as gentle as possible."
James Black’s temples suddenly started throbbing.
His head ached.
"Jane Sampson, go take a bath," James Black almost immediately moved to the other side of the bed.
"You don’t want my help?" Jane withdrew her hand sheepishly.
"If I let you help, you’d probably get exactly what you wished for," James Black snorted, "Go take a bath."
"Get what I wished for?" Jane pouted, "Thought I was doing a good deed."
With a huff, Jane grabbed a change of clothes and went into the bathroom.
Only after she had comfortably settled into a freshly filled bathtub did it suddenly dawn on Jane what James’s comment meant.
Get what I wished for?
Hmm.
Probably, the wish of marrying a husband with impotence.
It was one of the dreams she had once shared with him.
How did James respond to her at that time?
Seems like?
"In your dreams"?
With her hands playfully splashing the water in the bathtub, Jane let out a mischievous laugh, amused by James Black’s reaction.
Was he afraid she would crush him?
Maybe because she was back in her own place, Jane felt completely relaxed, and only after she had finished all the skincare routines in the bathroom did she lazily step out.
James Black glanced at the woman who lifted the quilt and lay down next to him, bringing with her a scent as soon as she entered.
He couldn’t tell which skincare product she used, but the fragrance was light with a hint of roses, sweet and refreshing, just like her.
Jane had been feeling like she forgot something, but couldn’t for the life of her remember what it was.
However, when she slid into the quilt and her fingertips touched the man beside her, she remembered.
Ah, she forgot to put pants on James.
The man in question was still lying on the bed wrapped in nothing but a bath towel.
After realizing this, Jane instinctively got down to fetch the pants James was supposed to wear, but as soon as her feet hit the floor, she suddenly remembered something else.
Turning slowly towards James, she suddenly lifted the quilt and peeked below his waist.
"What are you looking at?" James wasn’t blind. Jane’s overtly scrutinizing gaze did not escape his notice, and he knew exactly what she was checking out.
"Nothing, I’m just going to get some pants for you to put on," said Jane with a snicker, tossing the corner of the quilt aside carelessly.
